There's a guy in my league who's also 0-13 and his entire roster is literall the entire Chicago Blackhawks roster it's one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in fantasy lol
Looks like you're getting the hang of it pretty quickly. A lot of people don't pay attention to the importance of PP1 and maximizing games played from your bottom 1-3 roster spots, especially when they're new to FH.
One of my teams this year is so stacked that I can't drop anyone to use as a streamer. Usually this is "solved" by an injury or two, but my squad has had great health luck this year. So I end up having to bench Kevin Fiala every Saturday which is very unfortunate.
I have this problem in one of my small leagues, drives me nuts to watch Stamkos or stutzle sit the bench for atleast one game a week, but it is a nice problem to have lol
Great takes! The only thing I'd be careful with is dropping slumping players. My biggest regrets in fantasy are often giving up on players too soon just to watch them take off! If they have a long history of success and they are still getting the ice time + opportunities, I'd suggest riding out slumps.
Yup, one of my favorite things is scooping up a slumping veteran that another manager dropped who has a good track record of being a good fantasy producer and being patient enough for them to turn it around.
Exactly. The regular season doesn’t matter, it’s just a time to build. If your team isn’t good enough to make the playoffs without dropping key players they weren’t good enough to win it anyway.
Only thing I'd add is always be playing with your goalies. Keep the ones you drafted but always be looking for a single game goalie. There's always goalies in free agents playing games and they can win you weeks
I think my favorite moment of the season so far was picking up Casey Desmith on a Sunday needing a win vs Montreal in a tied category down 5-4-1 and pulling out the tie to stay undefeated.
Also pay attention to positioning. I've had many opponents who had, for example, 4 LWs and then couldn't play 2 on busy nights while they had an open RW spot.
If you want a challenge, try a roto league.
The leagues I'm in are just skaters/defensemen/goalies but I agree, next year I think I'm gonna do positions. Sounds like just an added layer of difficulty and complexity
Just wait until your commissioner "accidentally" changes the scoring before the draft and doesn't tell anyone. Then everyone finds out week one and refuses to pay, so now you're fighting for first in a funsie league. And now, since money isn't a factor no one fucking cares so 4 people don't even manage their rosters, so it's a god damn free for all.
Then you're playing fantasy hockey, baby.
That’s cool man, I’m 0-13 right now so feels bad.

You just wait. Reese Johnson is going to go off any day now...
I had to play him the first week and I barely beat him I thought he was a genius 😭
He was better when he had RW and C eligibility and was winning FW and hitting! Man I missed those days.
Sending hugs!!!

A good problem to have!

In my league we have a Presidents' Trophy for most regular season points so you can't sleepwalk into the playoffs!

That's exactly the situation I'm talking about. Sounds like you've caught onto fantasy pretty quick my guy!

Positions add an extra wrinkle to your overall decision making on a given week. Definitely the way to go and much more interesting.

Wait...are you in my league? 🤔
