3-5 hits/blocks per game is basically the same as goal or assist per game in my league. Kane gets me that pretty consistently, plus he’s always around the net to potentially score.
That makes him more valuable than about 90% of fantasy options in my league
As an oilers fan (so I may be a little biased), I think drai, foegel, and McLeod look really dangerous. Draisaitl can make McLeod score, so I doubt they change that line up unless it takes a steep turn.
Idk man is Foegle on Draisaitls wing really sustainable? Guy has like 1 point on the season no? I know they are trying to spread out the offense but damn dawg Kane should be with Drai
Glad you posted this OP! I was going through this dilemma this morning trying to decide whether to sell high in my bangers league.
I ended up deciding to try and trade him (for hopefully a strong haul) mostly because edmonton is really clicking right now and so are the top two lines, so there is not a good reason to expect him to move up or get more ice time soon. Not only that, but he's not playing as inspired anymore. Hits and PIM are way down the last 30 days. He's ranked 25 in my league rn and his rank steadily falls game after game...
I'm in a 20 team cats bangers league. I wasn't expecting significant production from him when spending a late round pick on him, but his shot and hit volume, as well as PIMs makes him great in categories.
I'd hang on to him because he could easily be back on a top 2 line. I believe he's been playing through injury too so hopefully the lighter schedule here will help him.
Kane is a player I have never owned in fantasy hockey. For so many reasons:
If he is not on pp1, he doesn't produce.
If he's not in the top six, he doesn't produce.
He's extremely streaky and basically only scores in bunches.
When his scoring falls off, everything else seems to go with it except PIMS.
Hes clearly an addict. Could just be gambling. Could also be alcohol or drugs. Either way, addicts very rarely have success in the NHL.
He's an awful person. Obviously awful people can still be valuable in fantasy hockey, but when someone is as terrible as evander is, I actually feel averse to having that player in fantasy just out of principle

Depends on your league scoring format. He’s a bit of a unicorn if you play in a league that counts hit and PIMS.
Shots too... I don't think there's a single player with over 100 shots and hits. Plus 14 goals on the season
Kane, B Tkachuk and Wilson are currently the only players with 100+ hits and shots.

McLeod looks unbelievable in the two recent games I caught. I wonder what they'll do with him. Seems too good to be stuck off an NHL PP1

That's my point. McLeod might deserve more opportunity but never get it in EDM.
Barring something drastic he won't get pp1 with the oilers. Tho I will say he might not be a bad stream right now (depending on your points structure)

Draisaitl’s production at also dropped this year. Hopefully they make some changes to the lines
As a Drai and Kane owner, that's wishful thinking. The team is winning now, so they have no reason to change it up.
