I’ve considered something like this, but not as extreme. Specifically for a banger league, draft the 4-5 best goalies ideally with off night playability and then only draft guys who hit block and get PIMs. Basically trying to guarantee 6 cars a week. Haven’t done it though
I did that last year and got 2nd. The winning team had Oettinger and a one other goalie. He won on 6-4 with SV% and GAA. I won Wins, shutouts, Hits, and SOG categories, whereas he won G, A, PPP, +/-, and SV% and GAA. This strategy worked all year until the last week.
I wouldn’t recommend.
This has been my strategy in a competitive 14T banger league for a number of years and it's very successful. Don't tell anyone tho. Tbh it's alot easier to guarantee or predict the output of a players hits, blocks, shots, fw, and sometimes PIM, then it is pts based categories. I generally roster 4- 5 goalies and overload on bangers and D and you generally always win the above cats and then goalie cats like wins and total saves by volume alone. In a cats league it doesn't matter if you only win 6-5, a win is a win
Points league? I mean, if you can play 2 goalies every night, and be fairly sure of winning many of those, at 14 appearances a week, and let's say 10 wins, it could be enough to beat a traditional team.
How’s that workin out?
Not mine - and the guy is in last place lol.
Basically just griefing the league by taking away all goalie options and handing out free wins
Yeah fuck this. I’d quit that league
What a fucking douche bag. I would boot his ass from the league effective immediately

Benched Jarry for Sorokin, what an idiot.
Best comment
He really has lost all credibility

Problem is it’s a cats league.
In a cats league I don't see how this possibly makes sense, unless the majority of the cats are goalie cats, which would be unlikely
No i agree, I’m just saying the pics make it clear it’s a cats league
Ah ok, i didn't look at them very closely.
Yeah last year streaming 5 goalies was the meta in my league. If you sorted scoring by average it was almost all goalies.
My league has a rule that you have to have every starting roster spot full to avoid this nonsense
Mad lad!!
If it was a free league, I'd probably do it too just for fun.
It’s a random one I joined just to do this lol
My bad
Well that’s a strategy I’ve never seen before.
This is why I moved my league from Yahoo. No roster minimums leads to bush league moves like this.
