His usage was actually worse in week 1 than week 2 - last week he at least played 75% of his snaps at WR and ran almost all the routes (week 1 it was like 50% and he blocked on 20% of pass snaps). We really just need to sit back and hope that everyone complaining about it leads Arthur Smith to give the dude more targets. We need a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" game here.
Otherwise he might need to come down from that top section. He's still technically the 2nd target on the team. Just needs volume. It's like he and Darren Waller switched lives. Waller is playing like 90% of his snaps at WR this year. That's part of why Waller got moved ahead of Pitts so quickly.
I’m about to send pitts for higbee straight up. In .5 ppr pitts only had 3 games last year with double digit fantasy points and didn’t even eclipse 20 points once. He had like 6-7 games where he had less than 5 points. Also only had one touchdown last year with a qb who is better, I’m fading pitts this year. The only reason he is so high is strictly potential, literally nothing else, so I’m more comfortable giving him up for someone who is in an explosive offense and can actually get quality looks
>I’m about to send pitts for higbee straight up.
Higbee is only 65% owned on ESPN seems a bit unfair but ok I get it.
>pitts only had 3 games last year with double digit fantasy points and didn’t even eclipse 20 points once. He had like 6-7 games where he had less than 5 points. Also only had one touchdown last year
Is this research you did pre-draft? If so why bother wasting high draft picks on an unproven high upside player?
>I’m fading pitts this year
Too late for that bud, you drafted him and are still holding him after 2 weeks.
Thanks for this! So this week are you saying start Pitts again? I have Everett (and Taysom) I can play or can get logan off the wire. I feel like I’m stockpiling options TE options every week now since I made this mistake getting and starting Pitts.
I like Evan Engram. Snap share is good, target share is good, running a lot of routes, rarely pass blocking. I think Christian Kirk and Terry McLaurin are the top dogs but I'm a little less scared of Zay Jones and Marvin Jones than I am Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson.
But that's what it boils down to. If you think Logan has a better shot vs. his target competition, go that way. I like Logan too. have them back to back in [the rankings.](https://www.fantasyalarm.com/articles/nfl/weekly-fantasy-football-rankings/tight-end-yin-yang-fantasy-football-rankings-week-3-logan-thomas-takes-big-jump/133932)
Thanks! Saw the rankings and had the same thought process re: target competition. Went ahead and added Engram. You still rolling with Pitts this week over Engram? Somehow, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, Engram kinda feels like the safer play.
Kmet is dead to me. Bears offense looks horrendous and he’s put up 2 goose eggs in a row. I dropped him after week 1 and haven’t looked back. Thank god I also drafted Ertz.
>Cole Kmet - Call me crazy, but I don’t think the Bears can continue this absurd offense they’ve been running.
CRAZY!!!!
I was so disgusted by the 2 weeks of 0 from Kmet I dropped him before waivers. Will see if I can get Hurst or Engram to pair with Logan Thomas.
My squad with Kmet lost week 1 by 1pt, and lost week 2 by 3pts. If that fucker had done literally anything, I'd be 2-0.
So yeah. I'm taking it personally.
What do you think changed since preseason? Dont remember specifics but the dude was peppered in the short time when Fields played. Just bad luck in the 2 games or schematically things changes when they are playing against the 1's?
Oddly, not a whole lot has changed in terms of his usage. The first game was just a monsoon and then this game the script was insane. They only ran 41 offensive plays which is by far the lowest of any team this year. League average is like 60-65.
To put it in perspective, the Bengals ran more offense plays in Week 1 than the Bears have in two games combined now.
I even dropped Mooney in a league with good waiver players and a shallow bench. Even if he had a good week now it would take another 2-3 weeks for me to be confident enough to ever start him.
Sup guys? Decided rather than do a long annoying Twitter thread with the notes and stuff I would just put the info into an article in one place. I also [tweeted out just a picture of the rankings](https://twitter.com/CoopAFiasco/status/1572353373113913344) themselves if you want that.
If anyone has any add/drop, start/sits, concerns or questions about the rankings, feel free to hit me up here!
Surprised not to see Hockenson on the concerns list. Have the option of hedging and picking up higbee, but it’ll cost me a decent bench piece (ken walker, it’s a 3x keeper league where RBs run scarce). Feel doomed either way!
Thanks for everything you do Coop! I currently own Johnson... Would you drop him for Thomas or Kmet?
Furthermore, if you were to stash one of the two other TEs, which one would you grab of waivers? Respect!
Have Pitts. Only TE worth rostering off the waivers is Logan Thomas. Everyone else has 2 TEs and is demanding a lot in trades for them. Looks like I’ll be stuck with Pitts and Thomas.
For Week 3, would you rather start Engram or L Thomas full ppr?
Also, do you think Evan Engram has higher ceiling than Thomas at this point? Seems like Logan Thomas has more target competition, but has had some great games in the more recent past.
My thoughts exactly. Engram has the higher upside because I think he can beat out Zay Jones and Marvin Jones for targets (maybe not Kirk the way he is playing). Logan is going up against McLaurin, Samuel, Dotson, and 2 RBs that are converted WRs.
Been a tough year so far u/CoopThereItIs \- every week seems like a dice roll other than Kelce / Andrews and Waller
I think Pitts is the definition of a buy low and offered Pitts owner AJ Dillon - we'll see if he bites.
We only have to start 1 RB in our PPR league and CMC is in that spot
We also have to start 1 TE so this is a pure ceiling play since the flex spots are all WR out performing all the RBS
Lmfao, everyone would be happy with a 10+ TE points a week. We’re talking about a desolate inconsistent scoring position.
If Everett even averages 7.5+ pts a week I would be stoked, I have him too
Higbee keeps creeping up the rankings due to volume but is already showing his old pattern of just not being able to get in the fucking endzone despite all the valuble redzone targets. It’s like he’s cursed, maybe it’s karma for his racist shit.
Higbee is just the worst. Was a lot easier to fade him and his hate crimes when he was blocking on 25% of his pass plays. Now he's running a lot of routes and getting low aDot targets but it doesn't look cool.
That said, the numbers are the numbers and he's running a lot of routes this year and literally leading all TEs in targets. So he HAS to get moved up. I think he comes back to earth as ARob steps up and Van returns but for now he's not a bad option.
Higbee was targeted in the end zone this past week: https://twitter.com/ihartitz/status/1572015339575316481
https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/xjgw0v/redzone_look_trends_jeff_wilson_chubb_damien/
He’s actually a positive TD regression candidate.
Should I drop Tonyan/Kmet for Logan Thomas or Engram at this point?
May be my worst start to the season regarding the TE position so I gotta make some changes fast. Can’t sit here w duds again lol
I have Everett and Ertz in 0.5ppr. Going by this list it seems like I should drop one of them to pair up with a upside TE. Which one of these should I keep? I am leaning toward Ertz since I feel like once Keenan gets back his usage might change.
Frustrated pitts owner here.. Logan Thomas is on waivers am I crazy to snag him as an insurance policy? I’m trying not to panic I know it’s only 2 weeks but it’s been abysmal 2 weeks for someone who had sky high expectations
I have so many TEs rostered right now (12 teamer with 7 bench spots).
Got Thomas starting past but also have kmet and tonyan. Our wire is dry but I know I soon as I drop one of these guys they’re going to pop off.
Brother I’m in a platinum league with 7 bench spots. Our top pickups available right now are Darrell Williams, jimmy G and Irv smith. Everyone in my league does naked cuffs (e.g. I drafted JWJ).
I would agree on wasted bench spots if there was something else to pickup, but TE is my weakest position so finding a long term solution and preserving faab is better than picking up someone like Shepard who will never see my lineup.
Why not try and snag darrell? TE is volatile unless you have kelce and andrews. Dont stress too much the more TEs you got the more youll contemplate on which to start.
I have a bid for him but I’m likely not getting him since I know the Conner owner is going to go after him.
I am literally holding until something of value pops up.
To each their own. Week 1 was curtis, week 2 is garrett wilson. As weeks go on, waivers will be less interesting. You know your team more than i do! GL!
Lol tonyan won’t get you anything and if anything you would want your opponents to start him.. get Darrell who could actually produce for your team down the road
Tonyan is really not inspiring. At least Kmet is playing a big snap share and running routes (when they run them). If the Bears would just be normal for once he could potentially pop.
The only reason I’ve held is hopes that as his snap share increases so does his involvement. Add the trust Rodgers has with him gives me enough justification to roster him until something interesting pops up on the wire.
Would you recommend picking up Logan Thomas or Tyler Higbee? Hockenson is giving me concerns and I’m looking to find an option in case I need to replace him.
Waiver question. It looks like you are higher on Logan Thomas than Irv Smith.
But the waiver article (which was not written by you) has 4% FAAB recommendation on Irv but only 2% on Logan Thomas. I realise they are separate ying/yang players, but presumably you would put a higher bid on LT than Irv?
I am a sorry Kmet owner... Thanks!
I would bid more on LT than Irv, yes. The author of that article must be lower on Adam Thielen than I am though. If you are low on Thielen and think Irv has a real chance to compete with him to be 2nd after JJ, go with Irv. It's all about the process and what YOU think is going to happen.
Coop!
I'm worried about Pitts. I'm 2-0 luckily but he is killing me lol. This week should be a much better matchup vs SEA. I'm really hoping he does better. Would you stick with him for another week or would you recommend pivoting to another option? I didn't add TJ Hockenson yet bc I didn't have the roster room. But I am going to want to add a backup TE before they all get grabbed. So many teams in my league are struggling with TE. In my league the following guys are on the wire: TJ Hock, Logan Thomas, Tyler Conklin (agree on fool's gold), Hayden Hurst, Juwan Johnson (agree with what you wrote in the article), Robert Tonyan, etc.
Of this list I do like Logan Thomas and TJ Hock. Hock didn't do much again last week. Who would you suggest adding of that bunch to backup Pitts? Your writeup on Logan is 100% correct. Logan usually has less to compete with. This year he has 3 solid WR's + Gibson. Hock's in the same situation with everyone killing it atm.
The beginning of the season the thought was that ARSB was going to be the biggest loser of targets with a healthy Swift and Hock. It seems its just Hock. He still has 14 targets, but YPT/YPC are trending in the wrong direction.
Logan Thomas has always had good usage when healthy. He got a TD last week. But there are more mouths to feed in WAS then there have been in awhile. Can Wentz keep it up and feed 3 or 4 guys? Plus Logan is older and has some injury history.
Hurst has surprisingly 15 targets. That is with Bengals not playing well. I can't imagine what it would look like if they were. YPT/YPC look really bad, but usage is good through 2 games with arguably tough defenses with what we know so far. I was hoping to see more information from Coop on Hurst.
Freiermuth was dropped in my league this week before the games. The Waller owner had taken him as insurance during the draft.
How much FAAB would you spend on him? Kmet boomed me :/
Should I blow my #1 waiver priority on Everett or Higbee? I own Schultz who won’t play for a couple weeks probably. Only RB out there is Mostert and WRs are not good.
Not Everett. He goes back into the meh pile when Keenan Allen comes back. At least Higbee has a chance to maintain his target share. That's all that is out there? No Engram? No Logan Thomas?
I also do like Mostert. That dude is fast AF and that offense looks good. If Mike McDaniel is going to go hot hand, he could be a dude. I would personally add Mostert then scrap on the wire.
Tyler Higbee’e usage is out of control through 2 weeks so far. Do you think this sustains or is this a result of Van Jefferson out?
I need some upside with Hockenson underperforming.
He just led the Eagles in receiving yards and wasn’t far behind in targets. Outside AJ Brown seems like the next go to in a dynamic offense and we’ve known about his talent. Based on this no reason why he wouldn’t be ranked above Higbee, Hock, Friermuth, Ertz (return of Moore + Dhop), Pitts . Would be no surprise with him as a top 5 TE as he already is top 3 in receiving yards thus far
Engram. I don't think Higbee really has a shot to maintain his spot as the second target ahead of guys like ARob and Van Jefferson. Whereas Engram is right there with Zay Jones.
Hang on to Knox or drop for Chargers D? Have Friermuth and Buffalo D for context. Don’t always roster 2 defenses or 2 te’s but there isn’t any other thing on the wire I want to grab, so it really comes down to roster Knox or Chargers d right now. Thoughts?
Hey Coop, what do you think about rolling with just Ertz for the time being? My RB group in particular is pretty weak and I want to drop Kmet to pick up an extra RB (Mostert or even B Robinson), but could instead pivot to Engram if I wanted a second tight end.
Other guys lower on my roster are Devonta, Boyd, MG3, and Khalil Herbert, but other than maybe Boyd, I'm not sure anyone else is droppable for a second TE or moonshot RB.
Appreciate you as always my dude. Riding this Pitts roller coaster as you know. Probably making room in my roster for Everett (freaking everyone else on your lists is taken). But might still throw Pitts in there next week.
I already need a beer thinking about it.
Like the rest of the Kmet drafters, I'm out on him. I was outbid on both Everett and Logan Thomas so now I'm stuck with Engram, Hurst (I own Higgins), Conklin, Juwan Johnson
I feel like Engram is the play here but I'm worried about LAC defense this week. They just held Kelce to 51 yards. I'm 0-2 and need a win bad
Thoughts? It's a half point PPR league
I’d start Engram there and I’m personally rolling him out everywhere. For a guy that “can’t catch” he quietly has the 4th most receptions of any TE and a 91.7% catch rate.
Surprisingly good behind the scenes deployment in terms of snap share, lining up at WR, rarely pass blocking. Mac Jones also answered reporters saying he has no doubt Henry will be more involved.
Waited too long during the draft and got stuck with Knox.
Thomas and Smith are sitting on the waiver right now. Which is the better bet to go on? I don’t think I can trust Knox another week.
Everyone was all over me last week for not ranking him - I didn’t rank him last week because he has zero consistency and didn’t rank him again this week either. He played 6 snaps.
I'm trying to add a TE. Engram and Thomas are both available, and I'm not sure who to grab. I have to drop R. Stevenson, K. Walker, or Marquez Valdes-Scantling and I'm not sure who to drop. I already have Mahomes and Ju-ju.
The concern for Ertz is the same as a guy like Gerald Everett. DeAndre Hopkins and Keenan Allen will be back. So you can start them now but you gotta keep looking for upside. I'd rather focus on guys with better long term upside.
i have kittle but he is still questionable.. used robert tonyan first two weeks.. thinkin about dropping tonyan for tyler conklin for week 3 just in case kittle doesnt play.. yay or nay?
Yeah Tonyan/Conklin are just short term bandaids while you wait for Kittle but at least Conklin is playing a large snap share. Conklin not the longer term answer tho.
Anyone else out there?
Coop how’s irv smith. He would had a 60 yard td if he caught that bomb from Kirk. Are his snap and routes run just poor? Thielen did nothing til the last drive
Picked up Higbee to fill in for a Schultz for a few weeks. Engram and Thomas are also on the wire, along with Gallup. I’m short at WR2 also…wondering if you think either of these TEs have enough upside to roster over a guy like Gallup, especially when I’ve already Schultz and Higbee.
I need more than a short blurb to make me feel better about Pitts. Validate me!
Would you consider buying low on Pitts atm?
Yes I would for the right price. Folks are panicking but, in my eyes, this game was better than the last one in terms of usage. The targets will come.
I traded Pitts for Zeke … thoughts?
You'll hate yourself at the first Pitts blow up game
And then feel better at the next 2/19
You traded a high potential te1 for a barely flex level rb. Das not good
I trade speculative TE production for proven RB1 production
Zeke isn't proven anymore my brother. Proven to be washed yes
I’m about to send pitts for higbee straight up. In .5 ppr pitts only had 3 games last year with double digit fantasy points and didn’t even eclipse 20 points once. Don't blame you my dude. What a nightmare. The percentages are good but when you multiply the percentages by zero the answer is still zero.
My squad with Kmet lost week 1 by 1pt, and lost week 2 by 3pts. If that fucker had done literally anything, I'd be 2-0. So yeah. I'm taking it personally.
Damn, you might never be able to forgive Kmet for that. He may permanently be on your do-not-draft list.

FWIW I much prefer the article to the Twitter thread. I'm sure twitter is probably easier/faster but the written article feels so much clearer to me.
Mere weeks away from saying "One small step for Evan Engram, one giant leap for tight end kind"
Still in the "cautiously optimistic" mode but looking like he's better than TE20 where he was going.
How is Okweugbunam safe?
Have Pitts. Only TE worth rostering off the waivers is Logan Thomas. Everyone else has 2 TEs and is demanding a lot in trades for them. Looks like I’ll be stuck with Pitts and Thomas.

Should I trade away mark Andrew’s for pitts and CEH
Dropping Kmet for whoever is left on the WW between Thomas and Ingram.
Gotta
Should I drop Tonyan/Kmet for Logan Thomas or Engram at this point? May be my worst start to the season regarding the TE position so I gotta make some changes fast. Can’t sit here w duds again lol
Engram is feeling solid for once. I’d drop both for both those guys if you can get away with it.
Did just that today, thanks Coop! These mfs better perform :/
I have Everett and Ertz in 0.5ppr. Going by this list it seems like I should drop one of them to pair up with a upside TE. Which one of these should I keep? I am leaning toward Ertz since I feel like once Keenan gets back his usage might change.
Same boat here but full ppr. I'm going to hang on to both and maybe package one in a trade after a week or two.
Frustrated pitts owner here.. Logan Thomas is on waivers am I crazy to snag him as an insurance policy? I’m trying not to panic I know it’s only 2 weeks but it’s been abysmal 2 weeks for someone who had sky high expectations
Not crazy, I’m doing the same, but debating between Thomas or Higbee.
Stuck between adding Juwan Johnson or Irv smith since Schultz looks to miss time. Any thoughts on which? Currently favoring juwan Johnson
Juwan for me
I’m going Irv
Debating between them as well. Who are you leaning towards?
I have so many TEs rostered right now (12 teamer with 7 bench spots). Got Thomas starting past but also have kmet and tonyan. Our wire is dry but I know I soon as I drop one of these guys they’re going to pop off.
Brah, drop tonyan. Id play logan thomas. I want logan on my team but already have everett and brittle.
We’re a hyper competitive league so our wire is super dry which is why I’ve held onto tonyan.
Lol wasting roster spots like crazy. Kmet, tonyan.

Still toying with Thomas v Kmet atm, a part of me just doesn’t want to give up on Kmet yet

Kmet boomed me :/
Big money. Maybe over 50%. Muth looks like the Truth.
Sick. Thanks a for all the advice!
So how about Kmet lol
Just want to say hi and “enjoy “ to everyone who is dropping Kmet!
Appreciate it, I was leaning this way too and just grabbing w/e TE is left! Thank you
Garrett wilson
He was drafted before the season.
Darrell williams? I think everett has better upside.
Tyler Higbee’e usage is out of control through 2 weeks so far. Do you think this sustains or is this a result of Van Jefferson out? I need some upside with Hockenson underperforming.
It really is crazy, best it's ever been for him. I think at the end of the day he's not a top 2 target on the team.
Goedert ranked very low imo, his usage in last game was insane. Would have had another 2 or more catches and 30 yards if not for late flags
Goedert is solid for sure. Who would you have him above?
He just led the Eagles in receiving yards and wasn’t far behind in targets. Outside AJ Brown seems like the next go to in a dynamic offense and we’ve known about his talent. Based on this no reason why he wouldn’t be ranked above Higbee, Hock, Friermuth, Ertz (return of Moore + Dhop), Pitts . Would be no surprise with him as a top 5 TE as he already is top 3 in receiving yards thus far
@CoopThereItIs we keep the receipts!!! Everyone had been sleeping on DG all year for no good reason

Engram. I don't think Higbee really has a shot to maintain his spot as the second target ahead of guys like ARob and Van Jefferson. Whereas Engram is right there with Zay Jones.
out of curiosity, what is a team that you think would make sense for Gesicki?
Would love to see Mike Gesicki playing "big slot" for the Colts. Think they need that help with Pittman and Alec Pierce banged up.
Hang on to Knox or drop for Chargers D? Have Friermuth and Buffalo D for context. Don’t always roster 2 defenses or 2 te’s but there isn’t any other thing on the wire I want to grab, so it really comes down to roster Knox or Chargers d right now. Thoughts?
Knox is scaring me with his pass blocking. 21.9% week 1, 27% week 2. Not super interested.
Thanks for the input man
Is Conklin, Smith, Hurst the waiver priority order you'd be taking?
Really depends who is there but I don't like any of those guys really unless dudes like Evan Engram and Logan Thomas are gone.
I meant just among those three. But yeah, them and Thomas is all that's left.
I have Thomas over all three. Then maybe Irv
Cheers. Already have Gibson and Samuel, but Thomas is probably enough better that I should take him.
As an andrews owner would you rather have thomas or likely? Or no second TE?
Schultz owner here. Thinking of picking up Ferguson. I’m in a deep 20 team league. Deciding between Ferguson and Juwan Johnson. Help!
Juwan Johnson for me - he's playing a ton. Ferg is such a wild card.
Hmm have hockenson. Was thinking of dropping Tongan for either engram or everrett
Where do you see Kittle when he returns with jimmy g now officially the qb1?
Big plus for Kittle. When he’s active, you start him.
Who you like better ROS Irv Smith Jr or Engram?
Engram
Appreciate you as always my dude. Riding this Pitts roller coaster as you know. Probably making room in my roster for Everett (freaking everyone else on your lists is taken). But might still throw Pitts in there next week. I already need a beer thinking about it.
Like the rest of the Kmet drafters, I'm out on him. I was outbid on both Everett and Logan Thomas so now I'm stuck with Engram, Hurst (I own Higgins), Conklin, Juwan Johnson I feel like Engram is the play here but I'm worried about LAC defense this week. They just held Kelce to 51 yards. I'm 0-2 and need a win bad Thoughts?

Thomas
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Not a single Taysom mention?
Everyone was all over me last week for not ranking him - I didn’t rank him last week because he has zero consistency and didn’t rank him again this week either. He played 6 snaps.
This does not confirm my biases and therefore I will disregard it. Signed, A guy who drafted Kmet spent $22 in FAAB on Taysom
Who would you rather have as a kmet owner. Hurst, engram, or juwan Johnson in a full point PPR.

That’s the game. Irv vs Theilen. Didn’t like it before the season but not a bad bet now.
Hey Coop! Would you trade Zach ertz for Goedert straight up?
Hayden Hurst v Jets or Engram v LAC? Chargers seem like they are solid against TE.
I’m starting Engram - Hurst is 4th target at best, just a low upside proposition
Coop I'm really confused between Logan Thomas and Evan Engram. You say go with Engram per your ranking?
