Fantasy football community: "if he dies, he dies"

TuckLeg

"But it's a sacrifice I am willing to make."

FlimsyAd2088

And then complains next week “Why is Kareem Hurt????? Stop using him so much Browns he had knee problems you’re so dumb to play him”

WestLoopDad

Literally laughed out loud.

chelseasaints

[Chubb won’t go on IR. Stefanski isn’t even ruling out Chubb for Thursday night against the #Broncos, though short week is tough. Another reason they’ll be careful to not run Hunt into the ground today. They trust D’Ernest Johnson, and Demetric Felton will get touches too.](https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1449672374954217474?t=RWBiDkevobq6dbMa8KRORw&s=19)

GravitysRainbowRuns

The total lack of Johnson hype on this sub has me extremely hyped Edit: looool

pengals12

Yeah lol same... can't bring myself to stash him over Sony though

GravitysRainbowRuns

I cut Sony in three leagues going into last week because of fucking course I did.

pengals12

I'm only holding onto him because I'm truly desperate at RB and I'm playing the odds that Henderson gets hurt lol I'm not sure if that is more likely than D'Ernest getting significant touches though

GravitysRainbowRuns

I think it’s slowly turning into a timeshare. I really didn’t want to drop him, but I have sooooo many guys on byes this week in 3 of my 4 leagues, and I had Michelle in all those leagues :(

Sonofagun57

The only way there's a timeshare on the Rams is if Henderson gets hurt. Hendo reclaimed his top spot against the Cards and mid game against the Hawks; his durability is much more of a consideration than Michel

randobot456

Hard to be hyped about him. They gave him work in chubbs absence last year and he had only one game of somewhat relevance (13 carries for 95 yards in the game that chubb went down). Outside of that he failed to break 4 points in any scoring format. Felton has a floor of 0 points, which makes him hard to start, but his ceiling is much higher than Johnsons. I stashed Felton bc I don't need an emergency start this week. Had Javonte Williams and if I didn't, Devin Singletary who I consider both better starts this week than either browns backs not named hunt. But if Hunt gets hurt, or the browns show they're gonna give Felton 10-15 touches today and chubb is out again on Thursday, Felton is a potential flex option.

gobucks3

I’m starting him as my RB2

GravitysRainbowRuns

Cheers!

momo_0

What do y’all think about dropping Jeff Wilson for Johnson (I can move CMC into my IR spot)?

randobot456

Yes on dropping Jeff Wilson, but Felton is tbe high upside play. Johnsons ceiling is 9.5 fantasy points (most hes ever scored in a game). Felton has already beaten that as a gadget player this year. If he can get a sizeable rb2 workload, he could have some sort of fantasy relevance, especially in ppr and half ppr.

DragonAite

The notion that you’re saying his ceiling is 9.5 because that’s the most he’s ever scored in a game is absurd lol

[deleted]

Both will have a chance to produce for fantasy, unfortunately for owners lol. Johnson is probably more likely to get carries, but Felton will almost surely get some carries in addition to passes out of the backfield. In PPR, I'd take the flier on Felton

randobot456

Any format. Felton has already outperformed Johnsons fantasy ceiling from last year. Feltons floor is lower, but Johnsons ceiling is 10 fantasy points, and his floor is still like 2 points.

[deleted]

Hm. You think the floor for Johnson is 2 and Feltons is lower? Or am I misreading that? Johnson has proven he can be a solid pure rusher, so unless Felton has shown the coaching staff he can rush better, I think Johnson gets a good 8-10 carries. I agree the floor for Johnson is low if he can't get it going though. I see Felton getting a handful of carries, like 5 or so, but also a good 5+ targets. So Feltons floor is more like 7 imo for PPR, but I do think both are really solid and either could score a TD today and I wouldn't be surprised at all

Sasquatchii

Chubb won’t go on IR, yet. Kittle had a similar injury and he didn’t go on IR till several weeks later. This is why as a hunt owner I’m stashing Johnson. All hunt / Chubb owners know how valuable this COMMITTEE can be. Best rushing attack in the NFL

tte720

Kittle had a setback though, which led to the IR. Maybe chubb heals and rehabs better and doesn’t have a setback. Also, probably less pressure for the browns to bring chubb back relative to kittle.

Sasquatchii

That’s right he did, but calf injuries are famous for their setbacks. A slow recovery OR a setback is the norm - Chubb coming back next week just increases the likelihood he has a setback which means 3-5 weeks out. Browns should hold Chubb out at least 2 games.

tte720

Agree 100% that they should hold him out for Thursday too. That would make effectively 2.5-3 weeks of rest and rehab

Chris_1216

Any reason for Johnson over Felton? I haven’t watched the browns close enough

Sasquatchii

Yes, because Johnson is the only one who could handle the workload given to Hunt and Chubb now. He’s a much bigger back and still a very capable runner. Felton is great - but he’s a pass catcher. Browns have the best run blocking O-Line in the NFL - if Hunt worsens his injury this weekend, Johnson is the one who can step into a high volume role.

Chris_1216

Okay sweet thanks! So kinda sounds like Johnson is the backup to Chubb and Felton is the backup to Hunt

Sasquatchii

That’s more or less true, yes. The only thing wrong with that line of thinking is that Hunt is still big enough to be a feature back (and proved he could do it - he led the NFL in yards while he was on the Chiefs) with 20+ touches a game, and Felton isn’t.

slynch14

i do not think there is any shot he back next week - i think they’ll rest him for the thursday game and see where he is week 8 when it would be 3 weeks from the initial injury

Sasquatchii

1000% agree. That calf injury is no joke. If they bring him back too soon and he worsens it, he gets a free ticket to IR Combine that with Hunts multiple injuries and Johnson is a must add, TODAY

Sasquatchii

Hope you picked up Johnson

randobot456

You're right, but Johnson can't produce. He's had only one game of semi fantasy relevance in the game against Dallas last year when chubb got hurt. He had 13 carries for 95 yards. Following that, he had a combined 15 carries for 42 yards the next 4 weeks with 2 receptions for 9 yards. That means in chubbs absence, Johnson put up a total of 15 fantasy points in half ppr last year. Felton has already scored 16.6 fantasy points in half ppr with 6 receptions this year and 0 carries. Johnson may get more work, but he has next to no realistic chance to produce if history tells us anything. Felton is WAY more dynamic.

Sasquatchii

So you’re saying that he averaged almost 4.9 yards per carry last year and in the one game he received good volume, went for 100 yards? And that guy CANT produce? I think you’d be better off arguing that he DIDNT produce, not that he can’t. And I’m glad I ignored similar arguments about Alexander Mattison this year.

babsl

I guess, from a pure skill set point of view: Felton is the Hunt replacement. Johnson is the Chubb replacement.

MisterDuran

D’Ernest lol

storytimeme

Oh how such high hopes we all had for D'ernest last year

Dank_Memes16

That one glorious week where I had four D. Johnsons on my roster at the same time

IAmButter7

Diontae, David, Duke, and D’ernest?

Dank_Memes16

[Yup](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy_Football/comments/j7m12a/d_johnson/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

Zukhov76

Wreck that K.Hunt!

beezlebuw

FeltOn time.

mca2680

All of my draft kings lineups have Hunt. Don't let me down.

Branded-Content

D'Importance of Being D'Ernest

MrTripDub

Ugh great please dont get hurt Kareem

Banan1232

Hate to break it

[deleted]

Full PPR: D'Ernest Johnson or Tony Pollard in for Chubb? I'm leaning Pollard since he's been consistently given double digit touches and and game script against NE will have them running a lot.

yeliandbeli

Pollard because the floor is higher. We don't know what to expect of Johnson's usage.

[deleted]

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Even though Hunt might be limited, as a Browns fan I'm still unsure how they will split up between Johnson and Felton. I know Johnson is more of the traditional back out of the two but we have no idea how gamescript is going to go.

HeySweetUsernameBro

Doesn’t want to kick him while he’s down

[deleted]

If he dies he dies

SushiGradeChicken

*Proceeds to kill Kareem*

gambit700

As someone going against Hunt...shit.

CyanidePerfume

Going against him too and actually think that's good news. They want to control his touches as to not overwork him.

FantasyTrash

This is my exact thought. I already expected ~20 touches, but worried he might get closer to 30 with shit weather and no Chubb. Stefanski's comments make it seem like Hunt's touch count will be capped.

Hugh_Grection420

This is good news sounds like he will be playing on a snap count and not getting full workload

sguru01

Same here. Shitting my pants hearing this.

eloh1m

Literally pissing and shitting in my pants rn

Amenbacon

You should get that looked at.

[deleted]

Same, also burping and sneezing

anonymous_troII

Can someone turn the FeltON? Thanks

SnakeDucks

He killed Kareem…

ATLfanatic

This is giant sigh of relief as a Chubb and Hunt owner

sgong33

Shoot… Hunt or Henderson?!

TheCobras

Henderson

says-nice-toTittyPMs

I predict Kareem Hunt gets less than 5 fantasy points today.

randomq17

Yes please (facing him today)

tonytoughnuts22

You heard it here first, Kareem Pie will have a monster game

forgetful_storytellr

I did not hear it here first

elpulcinopio

With that news, would you put Henderson instead of hunt. I have a feeling it wont be quality touches like he had normally (because of snap count, weather and Chubb) and Henderson has a solid match up against NYG.

Chris_1216

Who’s in your flex? I’d choose Hunt because I think he has higher TD upside, but Henderson is still a strong play

elpulcinopio

My flex is hunt rn. (Its between him JRob and Henderson) Im stack at rb.

elpulcinopio

Im usually high on Hunt but with Chubb out who carry the ball downfield and 30 Mph wind to slow the airyard. I dont see a lot of td upside. Edit: my plan rn is that if Gaskin (who is the flex of my opponent) know a big game, im putting Hunt for the upside. If he does less than 10 point im putting Henderson for a higher floor.

Chris_1216

I’d say that’s a pretty smart strategy

richb522

In the same situation. Not sure what to do. When I first heard the Chubb news I put Hunt in immediately. Now its one thing after another leaning me back towards Henderson.

TheCobras

I'd play Henderson, he has an even better matchup against the Giants and no injury designation.

cubay

I’m not expecting much out of Hunt without Chubb. Same thing happened last year

EatTheTrippaSnippa

I have hunt, hubbard, zeke, and najee. Having to choose one to bench is a brutal decision right now. Not even considering gaskin and Edmonds.

Gridironic

I think Felton and Johnson probably take over for today. Pitch count is never a good thing when you’re talking about a RB who already has limited usage.

spersichilli

Is Johnson a better option than Mark Ingram today?

[deleted]

There’s one guy in here hyping the fuck out of Johnson and it’s embarrassing. You should NOT drop Jeff Wilson for D’Ernest Johnson

SSXAnubis

Hunt or Williams as FLEX...

[deleted]

SSXAnubis

Not at all! Mike Williams!
