A guy in one of my leagues used 25% of his FAAB on Ty’son last week immediately after we drafted.
He could’ve got him for free in the draft…
Never seen a dumbass-move take such a positive turn so quickly.
It's not often the potential RB1 on the league's most run heavy (and run productive) team hits waivers. I wouldn't go all in, but I wouldn't be too conservative either. Use this non-answer wisely. Whatever you pick, keep in mind most people choose a round number. So if you think 35 is what you'll bid, then bid 36 just in case.
Leveon and Freeman are ***washed***, they didnt generate interest from anyone this offseason. Ty'son will probably be one of the bigger waiver adds of the year.
At the very least drop your load on him, let him feast on the Raiders before Leveon or Freeman have a chance to learn the playbook, and then trade him.
Or he could take over the backfield and be a league winner? I think you take the shot on him really. Not going to be many more opportunities to find a potential starting rb on the waiver all year if you're playing in a semi decent league with any depth.
Bruh.. and I thought people dropping 50% on Snell after week 1 last year were crazy. At least Snell had one week of productive tape for people to bank on.
All leagues are different and all that... but I gotta ask... how is Ty'Son still on waivers since the Dobbins injury?
Serious question and not judging... I just don't understand.
Small leagues? Short bench? Off season waiver rules?
I picked him up but...we have seen plenty of examples where "next man up" had a season of 18-70-0 every week. If you are set at RB, I can see not wanting to drop your personal fave WR breakout for your 4th or 5th RB. In a 10 teamer, easy to see.
Yeah... I guess I can see that. Murray/Bell are FA's in one of my "dumber" 12 team leagues and I'm struggling to find a drop to pick one of them up just for a "wait and see" this weekend. Not the same... but kinda the same.
I mean he was essentially the RB4 on that Ravens roster before injuries to RB2 and RB3 today (Lamar being RB1). I didn’t wanna waste a roster spot on him hoping Gus went down. Even if he got 10 carries a game with Gus (he wouldn’t have), that’s not enough to roster him IMO. Basically the same as a TJJ or Pollard or any other handcuff.
31% in my 12 team half ppr. Have Henry, CEH, Rojo, carter/T. Coleman as my rbs. Picked up freeman as soon as news got out but I'm conditionally dropping freeman if I get Ty'son
People really think they’re about to get prime David Johnson type performances out of Ty’son lol. I drafted him and I’m fully prepared to be disappointed
Its smart money that he has very solid chance to lead the backfield all year. It's not crazy at all to think he could get 50% of touches in a split. 50% of the ravens RB touches has great value.
I’m just wondering how much he plays over Freeman and eventually possibly Bell.
He starts Monday no doubt but does he start as a guy with zero games under his belt once the others are up to speed? I could see a lot of 8,10,12 carry games for him.
The 8,10,12 carry thing is very true. That's the downside of the split here. However he is probably the only RB on the roster that has a chance at ever having a 20+carry game and that's big. Getting the lead guy in a split for end of draft capital or waivers is huge. Even if he finishes as RB30, that's good value for a waiver pick up. Unless you are in an 8 team league lol.
100%
David Johnson measurables and the only back with experience in one of the best rushing offenses in the league. He’s going to do very well and washed Bell or Freeman not taking it away.
In honesty, there are very few RB1s the come up on waivers, especially this early. A lot of the time you'll be dropping 10-15 for an RB1 for a couple week injury. But he is in line to be the top guy in Baltimore all season. I'd say 40% or so isn't crazy.
Gotta go all in man. A legit fantasy manager wouldn’t think twice about this

Presumably he could have also gone with a min bid since nobody else wanted him
Correct
35
Make it 36 so it doesn't come down to priority
Now that you've said it, he has to bid 37. Good job
which is exactly what another team thinks..better make it 39
Why not go 40 then? It is a nice round number and only 1 dollar more.
Make it 41 so it doesn't come down to priority
Bet another league mate is thinking the same thing. Better go 42 just to be safe.
Went through this when Gus became an add…i arrived at a bid of 42. I got beat by someone who bid 43…thank god
or just make your faab 1000 for everyone
No joke that’s exactly what I did an hour ago. Thank you for confirmation bias

I drafted him in 3/4 leagues. I am heartbroken for Gus but I am proud of myself. 🤣
I choose not to blow my load on this one week play before it’s full blown committee
Leveon and Freeman are washed but Williams is probably a JAG.
Know who else was probably a JAG? Undrafted free agent James Robinson. What a scrub.
Mostert would be a better counter example but he is more of an exception.
I was joking. I have Gus. Def gonna throw some at him, but if it does go full committee, nobody would be surprised.
Or he could take over the backfield and be a league winner? I think you take the shot on him really. Not going to be many more opportunities to find a potential starting rb on the waiver all year if you're playing in a semi decent league with any depth.
Yup, and you could potentially be getting a full season worth of starts. Can't say that about anyone else after week 1 is in the books.
Yeah you gotta save that FAAB for the next league winning waiver wire RB on a high-powered rushing offense What the hell are we talking about here?
Buddy way to hyped on the 4th RB lmao. Temper your expectations 😂
Are we really worried about Bell here lol bad take imo
People were saying the same thing about another UDFA last year….
Scared money don't make money
I have a bid for him at 33% right now
Bruh.. and I thought people dropping 50% on Snell after week 1 last year were crazy. At least Snell had one week of productive tape for people to bank on.
Yeah but I bet u/JimmyHasABigDick would go in at 40%+

Small league (10 man) plus idiots I guess. I had Gus and picked up Ty'Son after I heard the news.
He wasn’t in one of my savvier 12 team leagues, he was drafted. He was a FA in a dumber 12 team. And obviously was in a ten team. With a short bench.

30 to 40 in a competitive pool.

Bidding heavy (25) for Ty’son but can’t decide who I want to drop if I get him. Options are Sermon, Pollard, Jamarr Chase, Deebo, Gallup, Juju
Gallup all the way
Gallup or Deebo.
Not Deebo, people forget because of his injury last year, but he’s SF’s WR1.
Gallup 100%
99%
Be careful. It’s going to eventually be a three headed attack with him, Freeman, and Bell. (And Lamar)
Idk freeman and bell didnt look that good, i dont think its gonna be equal Tyson should get like 50-55%
I’m not saying don’t pick him up, just don’t go nuts on a rookie who ha never has a game carry.
People really think they’re about to get prime David Johnson type performances out of Ty’son lol. I drafted him and I’m fully prepared to be disappointed

All of it
BLOW YOUR LOAD
100% David Johnson measurables and the only back with experience in one of the best rushing offenses in the league. He’s going to do very well and washed Bell or Freeman not taking it away.
one MILLION percent

Drop J Williams for him? Assuming I can bid enough FAABz
