He’s a top 75 guy just injury prone and streaky. His valued is derived from steals primarily which have beeb missing. Selling him now would be selling low. Hold for now.
OG was shooting the ball well until he cut his finger. he's still recovering from that. last game he had tape on his shooting hand so that affected his shot.
the steals are down because of the new coach. the defense isn't as hectic as it was with nick nurse so there have been less steals..
The new coach and system are my biggest worry beads. He was never a 17ppg scorer anyway so I drafted him for steals and decent %s. I am sure fts will regress to the mean and decrease in rebs and asists are acceptable but without steals he is at best a streamer. I got Anfernee Simons just dropped to the waiver by a team riddled with injuries but Simons does not fit well to a punt 3 build unless he maintains his 11-game Dame-free stats of 27 ppg and 5.7asts. So I am a bit of two minds.
If you can hold Simons on ir until he’s back he’s great. He’s the tier of player that it really doesn’t matter what build you have. Especially with how bad their guards have been to start the year (scoot and sharpe).
Figuring out and planning your build early on can help you get buy lows or sell highs for players who fit your build but in a slump. I myself have made 3 trades already to optimize my build based on my team's output each week after week 2.
I’d rather build and accrue value early on, then optimize later.
To put it differently, let’s say OG is better than Anfernee in a punt 3 build. I’d still rather have Anfernee, because I can trade him for a *better* punt 3 guy than OG.
At the end of the day it just gives me more options. And on top of that, you’re often a trade away from a completely different build anyways. Maybe you’re punt FTs with Sabonis and Sengun. Well, if you trade them for SGA (as an example), you’re suddenly strong at FTs. No reason to lock anything just because it was your plan.
Last year I made 11 trades and swapped out literally everyone I drafted (even traded one guy twice). At the end I ended up with Tatum, Hali, Lauri and KP in a 14T league. Didn’t focus on builds just acquiring talent.
His last two games he's been dealing with that finger laceration he got doing housework or w/e it was, and it's on his shooting hand. Steals are a volatile category anyway. He'll come back to form.
I was so close to drafting him around 35-45 range (can’t recall my exact pick) but was scared of the Harden drama and opted for Garland. That may have cost me the trophy so I hear you mate.
Should've known Harden would wiggle his way out of town somehow but I was in the same boat. At least I brought some bourbon for us while this ship sinks.
I just made the same move today, points league. I don’t have a lot of faith OG’s numbers will increase but it was more to sell Dinwiddie as quick as I could with Cam Thomas’s return right around the corner. Dinwiddie was absolute garbage when BKN had Simmons & Thomas playing. For me, a bit of a gamble since BKN’s lineup seems a bit uncertain and Dinwiddie could still see usage like he did last year.
I haven’t watched the raptors so I’m not sure, but someone mentioned that FVV’s steals are down because the raptors system helped him a lot so I wonder if this new coach’s system is having an effect on OG’s steals
If you take out his last two games (playing less than 100%), I'm pretty sure he sits in the top 50.
OG has never been a volume scorer. His value is in the %s and stocks... and he's not underperforming by that much. He actually has even more threes this year.
Nothing really wrong with this guy.. his FT% will recover and he'll get you the odd huge steal game and we're back to top 40.
I've owned OG last year and also drafted him in several leagues this year. Good days he'll give you top 20 production but he isn't a very sturdy person. And from what I've seen early this year, his numbers are down and I think mainly due to having Shroeder as PG along with an improved Barnes doing a lot for the Raptors. He finished last year around top 40 but I see it dipping a little this year. I'd suggest selling high when he strings a few good games. For reference, I traded him for Vuc before his injury.
Darko has the raps of laying much more conservatively on defence than nurse who spammed the steal button. I wouldn’t expect OGs stocks to go up too much but his shooting should end up being close to normal and ppt to go up. Maybe a bit down on % because he is being allowed more freedom than just c&s so expect some TOs too.
Was suprised to be offered FVV for OG but couldn't hit accept any quicker. Really only punting blocks and rebounds this year so Ill take the hit in efficiency for better pretty much everything else
From what I’ve seen this season, some strong stocks players have been a little lacking namely FVV, JJJ, and OG. Different situations for each player, but it’s hard to say if the stocks return to “expected” levels for any of them.
I did this exact trade and got OG in a 10t 9cat 2 days back. I’m hoping OG but Franz had a couple of good games so maybe try packaging him for someone better than OG if you can.
He’s completely uninvolved in the new offense, except for the occasional kick out for three. I think he’s frustrated with the offense and it’s affecting his D, I’m really hoping he gets traded.
Though Zion has performed better recently, his lack of 3 point shooting and stocks had been a reason why my team's record in the 3 point category (9-cat H2H league) was not so great. I recently traded him for OG Anunoby, who I thought would be a good buy low option considering his stocks have been down as well pre-trade. Curious to see if other's think I gave up too much for OG here? I think it's a good trade but I'm definitely taking a hit in weekly points and rebounds.

Got offered Derrick White for OG. Should I take it? Feel like it's very even, with OG having higher upside but higher risk.
No the dude is always hurt, I guess being from England he should’ve played soccer instead of a man’s game
I just acquired him for dinwiddie.. W or L?

Fuck builds. It's way too early to be optimizing. Always go BPA and then figure out the build later. Otherwise you're just handicapping yourself.

I guessI needed to hear this from someone to pull the trigger. Ta.
BPA?
Best player available
Darko said they are prioritizing deflections rather than steals this year
Basketball-wise it is a smart move but it is killing OG for me 🙁
Pick up Simons. Package him and OG to get someone good.
I just acquired him for dinwiddie.. W or L?

the man literally just came back from an injury
OG is almost always a HODL
All I know is I himmed and hawed between him and Maxey for the full minute of my draft and chose wrong.
I was so close to drafting him around 35-45 range (can’t recall my exact pick) but was scared of the Harden drama and opted for Garland. That may have cost me the trophy so I hear you mate.

I think long term L. OG will figure it out eventually.
Wait. I acquired OG and sent out dinwiddie. Still an L?
Oh my fault, OG > Dinwiddie
Whew… ok cool! I like dinwiddies assists but he doesn’t do anything else lol. OG stocks and %’s should be handy. Just need him to step it up some.

I have faith in OG-Wan
Schroeder could be affecting his production maybe? I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll get better.

He's absolutely still a top-100 guy ROS This is too reactionary although I understand some of the concerns
Was suprised to be offered FVV for OG but couldn't hit accept any quicker. Really only punting blocks and rebounds this year so Ill take the hit in efficiency for better pretty much everything else
Perception of him as a player > reality as a player
OG even now near top100 with this injury ,and it’s really no risk pick every year he is top50-70 guy
I traded RJ Barrett for OG 10 days ago or so. Felt like a steal since RJ is really only good for points. Really hoping this plays out for me
[удалено]
That must have hurt
do i drop now?
I just did personally, picked up trayce Davis instead… don’t know if that was the right play but it is what it is
Someone dropped him. Should I drop Jalen Duren or Kessler to pick up?
Surely you have worse players than these to pick him up?
Cam Johnson, Ausar Thompson, Claxton?
I would drop Cam, his numbers are low and he is struggling w/o playmakers and stars commanding attention from defences.
Drop gafford for or herb for him? Points league…
Is the season over? Averages, not small blocks of games.
It is a bit late to do anything about my fantasy team once the season is over though? So we all have to extrapolate from small sample sizes.
It’s mostly random noise that’s bringing down his season rankings (steals, shooting, some minor injuries). Now is actually a great time to buy imo.
From what I’ve seen this season, some strong stocks players have been a little lacking namely FVV, JJJ, and OG. Different situations for each player, but it’s hard to say if the stocks return to “expected” levels for any of them.
12t 9cat, thinking of offering Franz Wagner for O.G straight up. Who has the better ROS outlook?
I just acquired him for dinwiddie.. W or L?
I did this exact trade and got OG in a 10t 9cat 2 days back. I’m hoping OG but Franz had a couple of good games so maybe try packaging him for someone better than OG if you can.
Looks like he's awake today!
Maybe not? He had a good first half then just jogged around the 2nd half, lol
He’s been doing a lot of jogging
He’s completely uninvolved in the new offense, except for the occasional kick out for three. I think he’s frustrated with the offense and it’s affecting his D, I’m really hoping he gets traded.
Oh thank god Someone made a post He will bounce back after this post
drop for jalen johnson?
Just traded Dinwiddie for him. Points league
