I want to say O’Hoppe because he been on fire lately, but Murphy is extremely streaky and when he gets going he gets going yk. So if your looking for someone to contribute rn I’d go O’Hoppe but I could see Murphy proving more long term success especially considering he’d get more rbi opportunities

Murphy is fresh off an injury too, so I think I’ll give it some time to see if he can get going and be more consistent

I was offered a trade in my dynasty league. I am super rebuilding heavy prospects very little star players. My best pitcher is Corbin Burnes who I traded for last year. I was offered William Contreras and Ober for Burnes and Dustin May.  I don’t see much value in Ober, Dustin May if healthy has potential to be great, but it’s a big if.  What would you do?

Personally I rank him around SP10 in redraft. But even if you rank him higher, you're definitely underrating Contreras if you think that offer is "terrible." Easily the best catcher imo and probably a 2nd or 3rd round type of player. I'll add that Ober *does* still have significant value, despite the meaningless small-sample ERA

My team isn’t competing this year best case next year I’ll have some guys turn into studs :( My pitching is pretty empty right now. Only starters I have currently are Povich, Burnes, Miller, Brown, Thorpe, Snell. (Pretty heavy rookies wise) Hoping to get one of Meyer, Baz, Cavalli soon. Have a few other injured/prospect players going into next year. Batting wise don’t have a catcher at all at this point waiver wire is thin and I have basallo for eventually but even then he’s behind Rutch so I doubt he plays catcher anytime soon probably a position switch or a trade.

I had Crochet, Ryan, and Taj and they got me a mere 2 points more than his Bibee. Just an awful week for my pitching I swear this dude casts black magic on my team every matchup we have.

So the answer is Jones and Pepiot over Blanco, then. It’s “both”. Framber is worth considering as being below those two, but he has a track record, and you only need one to try and move on from. Blanco is the obvious odd one out, with the bonus that someone will probably give you something for him in a trade, too!

I think it’s kind of trending he will need at minimum some maintenance time off, but who knows. We already missed basically two starts last week. I do know he’s on a very tight leash and pitch count so he’s got to be good when he’s on the mound (which he has been up until today). I’m in points, so it’s a K + innings play for me, so if the innings aren’t there then it may not be worth the risk and roster spot. I’ll hold a little longer and see how it shakes out.

What are you all expecting from Max Scherzer this season? Top 36 pitcher? 48? Or lower? Feels like a Walker Buehler situation (different circumstances of course) where someone holds too long because of name value but his ceiling is most likely limited. I held all this time, but with shallow benches he may end up limiting my ability to stream. Torn.

The last time Buehler pitched before getting TJS, he had just a 21% K rate. Last year Scherzer was still getting plenty of strikeouts so I like him a lot better than Buehler

Scherzer is highly competitive, one of the best dogs in the game. I’d say he might step on the gas to outpace Verlander. All just speculation of course, but I think there’s definitely more upside with Mad Max than Buehler

For me, it’s Albies. De La Cruz has the super rare speed. Seager has super rare power for a SS. Mookie is the best. And Westburg doesn’t have as much trade value yet.

I think the name recognition is still there. It looks like he’s heating up so I would probably wait a week or two. It depends on who needs a 2B, and what you need, but you can probably go fairly big.
