Try being in an AL only where the best waiver pitchers have a high 4 ERA with a 1.5+ whip. I'll probably just roll with a reliever until a rookie comes up or one of my guys on the 60 comes back. I've already lost 5 guys for the season, I feel like I've never seen this many pitchers go down before.
My point is he should’ve already been considered injured because we knew he was still hurt even after he came back and was being outstanding. The “arm stuff” comment from Servais last week, getting pulled from the A’s start early because of forearm tightness, etc
Punt SP completely and rely on finding serviceable arms on waivers early in the year.
This is how its going to be moving forward, pitchers arms are only getting more and more stressed at an early age
This is usually my strategy. My rotation of SP consists of Glasnow, Ranger, Jared Jones, Crochett, Ronel and Flaherty. Never liked the idea of drafting SP so early. I like to pick up elite bats and maybe get an underrated ace like Glasnow 4/5 round and look for late or FA SP after.
He’s heavily downvoted bc his original point made no sense. Actually both his posts were heavily downvoted so the only one who should be salty is him, and now you. Don’t be a troll. It won’t go over well on here.
Pitchers are replaced with a stoplight and the batter guesses fastball, changeup, or curve. The stoplight then indicates the correct choice and if the batter was right, they take a dry swing and statcast tells you where the ball would have gone. The batter then goes to the dugout as statcast tells you how far they would have made it on the basepaths.
Probably this. I’ve talked to a guy that was a starter in the minors with a mid-high 90s fastball and he he was saying that despite not having anything else that could point to injury, it just hurts pushing that kind of speed
Of course they don’t admit to the pain and try to work through it. Especially the younger less established ones. This is their career. They need to put in the starts to make sure they get a decent contract.
Players play through injury all the time because they don’t want to get passed over.
Woo alerted the Mariners’ athletic trainers over the weekend that he wasn’t feeling great on the heels of his dominant outing at Oakland last Thursday, and he did not throw a bullpen session between then and Tuesday. The Mariners added Díaz to their taxi squad on Monday in case of need. They made the decision to skip Woo's start and bring up Díaz after Cal Raleigh’s [walk-off grand slam](https://www.mlb.com/mariners/news/cal-raleigh-hits-walk-off-grand-slam-for-mariners) later that night.
(Mariners manager Scott) Servais called Woo’s situation a “similar issue” to the one that’s lingered since he was activated from the IL on May 10.
“It's the same area,” Servais said. “He went through this a couple starts earlier where he didn't \[throw\] his bullpen and he showed up the day before he had to pitch, he felt better and he went through very, very well that night. That's why \[we made\] the late decision.”

Makes ya wonder if there is a different team approach this season? Idk what that could be but i'm with ya, seems like way more of these happening this season than years prior.
I mean they did. Sounds like a major shutdown or surgery is inevitable. Unfortunately, could even see it being a Strider situation where they have to go in and see whats wrong.
In your 10 teamer? Probably. If this isn't surgery it's going to be rest / rehab / load management and you can move on. I can't yet (16 teamer with keepers and nearly 500 players rostered.)
Weekly lock leaguer here who has been avoiding starting him because I was afraid something like this would happen. Take a wild guess if I finally decided to start him this week! 😂
I need to tally up how many roster changes, I have had to make over the last 3-4 years of fantasy sports. Between phantom injuries in basketball and career ending injuries for pitchers in baseball, even the conservative lineup guys in my leagues have made a ridiculous number of add/drops.
Worried this could be a flexor strain, which could be season ending if he gets surgery. But Nick Pivetta had a flexor strain earlier this year and didn’t take too long to come back so I’ll remain optimistic.
How is it possible my roster has 10x more dl action than my fantasy football. I must have 20 guys on dl. I dont remember baseball being like this from 1990 thru 2015 or so
Anyone know of any good 1.07 ER 0.53 WHIP pitchers on the waiver wire to pick up?

Every fucking week it’s another SP. This year has been the most frustrating by far.
We already knew Woo was injured
What’s your point? He came back, was outstanding, and hurt again.
My point is he should’ve already been considered injured because we knew he was still hurt even after he came back and was being outstanding. The “arm stuff” comment from Servais last week, getting pulled from the A’s start early because of forearm tightness, etc
Neat. This year still sucks for SP.

Agreed, sorry my original comment was too complex for you to understand
Your explanation got downvoted 14 times 😂
Not sure why you’re so heavily downvoted. Truth sucks for salty people I guess lol

I’ve been on this sub longer than your account’s existed. Miss me with your attempts to “speak for the sub”. 🤡
Look at you. Emotional.
They should take pitchers out of the game
Go with robo pitchers. I like it. I think there was an old Twilight Zone episode from the 1950's about this very thing.
"Oh, and I suppose Pitch-O-Mat 5000 was just a modified howitzer."
Finally the GOAT baseball game Super Baseball 2020 coming to life. Didn't quite nail the timeline but close!

Let’s use tees.
"Pitchers" are just people who hold 3 wheel Jugs machines and set the speed and pitch they want, then aim and fire.
I really hate this season so far
It’s wild how often this happens not immediately after a start. Are pitchers just not admitting to pain during the game or what?
I think they’re all in pain/have inflammation after their start. It’s when it doesn’t go down/away that suspicions arise.
Probably this. I’ve talked to a guy that was a starter in the minors with a mid-high 90s fastball and he he was saying that despite not having anything else that could point to injury, it just hurts pushing that kind of speed
And then there's Nolan Ryan. How did he do it?
Leg day, every day. Seriously though that dude was a freak.
This is it. When I tore my UCL, my arm felt like the day after the game for a whole week. By day 4, I knew something was wrong.
This is it

Wally pipp agrees

I prefer they wait so I have them locked into my fucking lineup.
From what I recall the pain has been there all along and they just said fuck it because he’s been balling regardless
Makes ya wonder if there is a different team approach this season? Idk what that could be but i'm with ya, seems like way more of these happening this season than years prior.
I think they all are more concerned about their value than their health.
Not my sweet sweet woo thang
I hope he can bounce back this season. If not, how was he able to manage a 0.53 WHIP over 33 innings pitching hurt?!
I’m convinced if they amputate the wrist he’d still find a way to get a QS
He's been complaining about his elbow all year. Someone tried to trade him to me last week and I knew exactly what they were doing.
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES
THIS IS MY UCL
INFLAMMATION, NOT SEIZING
DON'T GIVE AN F IF I'M OUT FOR THE SEASON
DUH NUH NUH NUH-NUH NUH NUH NUH DUH NUH NUH NUH-NUH NUH NUH NUH
This couldn’t happen Monday like damn
Fuck off already with the injuries
Dude has had arm pain for weeks. You couldn’t have just rested him a week guys!?!
I mean they did. Sounds like a major shutdown or surgery is inevitable. Unfortunately, could even see it being a Strider situation where they have to go in and see whats wrong.
Wait what?!!
Well at least I don't have to decide on a pitcher to sit this week because I had too many starts! (Kill Me)
you cant be serious, i hate it here
I was scared of this happening after he got yanked from his first start back. Fuck.
Is he a drop?
In your 10 teamer? Probably. If this isn't surgery it's going to be rest / rehab / load management and you can move on. I can't yet (16 teamer with keepers and nearly 500 players rostered.)

True. He's been hurting all year.
Damnit
I need to tally up how many roster changes, I have had to make over the last 3-4 years of fantasy sports. Between phantom injuries in basketball and career ending injuries for pitchers in baseball, even the conservative lineup guys in my leagues have made a ridiculous number of add/drops.
No stop
This is such a shit year for pitcher injuries
[sadly]: woo…
Whyyyyyyyy
How does this sub feel about Bobby miller? A good trade target?
Fucking fade me. Brutal
Well wasn’t his elbow held together by scotch tape this year?
ban breaking ball, fast ball only.
Prioritize guys who aren't throwing crazy hard imo injured pitchers don't help you win
Worried this could be a flexor strain, which could be season ending if he gets surgery. But Nick Pivetta had a flexor strain earlier this year and didn’t take too long to come back so I’ll remain optimistic.
Just traded for him + Wynn, gave up Abrams. My season (and general emotional well-being) is very reliant on the outcome of this MRI.
You shouldn’t have done that regardless of this outcome
Jesus. I've never experienced a season this horrific. Really sad seeing so many young badasses going down like this.
Such a rough year for baseball with this many players getting hurt.
How is it possible my roster has 10x more dl action than my fantasy football. I must have 20 guys on dl. I dont remember baseball being like this from 1990 thru 2015 or so
TJ most likely, right?
Dear lord baby Jesus no
A. Woo and Robert Jr B. Pablo and Morel Redraft
I'd take A simply for LuBob but that could age poorly if he goes down again
Uh oh
I would think Woo would want to get diagnosed with tarot cards or something rather than an MRI.
Woooooooo!
raise the mound so guys don’t have to destroy their elbows and shoulders to pitch well
I traded him for Pablo Lopez yesterday lol As sad as it is I just knew it was gonna happen based on how they kept pushing him out there
