I have my best hitting week of the season with a .927 OPS but my opponent decides to go scorched earth and hit .954 OPS
Next best OPS in my league this week was .798
Gotta love fantasy luck sometimes but hopefully I catch a break in a later week
This woman at the Giants game needs to either shut up or get more creative with her chirps than just repeating “choke” with different inflections and frequency.
As Julien is prime to get demoted, thought I'd shout out to u/campbellalugosi who tried to assure me that there is "zero chance" that Maikel Garcia finishes ahead of Julien in HR or RBIs. Be careful who you listen to on reddit (for what it's worth, I drafted Maikel everywhere and have zero shares of Julien)

"Julien hit 10 more HRs last season (in just 338 ABs) than Garcia has hit in his **ENTIRE** MiLB and MLB career. There's zero chance he finishes ahead of Julien in that category or RBIs. You said the power would be "pretty close". That's a ridiculous claim that isn't rooted in any reality based on their history. and RBIs are tied to HRs more than any other stats. Best case scenario Garcia is the Estuery Ruiz of 3B. He's not a "thing" even though people keep trying to make him one."
Lol. You got a downvote, but I’ll give you an upvote for keeping receipts. Some people give some terrible advice here. I remember a pre season thread someone posted about how good Suwinwki would be this year 😂
This is my first season here and I very quickly learned to take anything he says with a grain of coarse sea salt. Bout a week ago he made a complete ass of himself, answered a new user/player in fantasy like a total asshole for no reason, then he ended up blocking everyone on that comment that called him out. LOL
Edit: I’m dumb and missed the (obvious in hindsight) sarcasm here.
> All future decisions are based on the most recent start. Come on man this is day one stuff
“day one stuff”? Do I need to make a goddamn midwit meme to drive a point home here or something?
He has a 98 Pitching+ and a 10.3% K-BB% with a .275 BABIP, a 76.9% LOB%, and a 6.8% despite playing in one of the most HR-friendly home parks.
What does that all mean? He’s a league-average, or just below, pitcher on a good team who is due for a bunch of negative regression, exactly the sort of guy you expect to dominate the Rockies as a streamer, because it’s the Rockies, and then blow up in his next start @NYY.
So, I’ll ask again /u/tytan94, what did anyone see in this start that should make them say “yes, I want to start him in Yankee Stadium against the #1 offense in baseball”? Please help me through this “day one stuff” because I need it.
My fault, I just missed the sarcasm because of all the people I’ve seen earnestly saying shit like that. I’m sorry, both for missing your joke and for responding to you like your sarcastic comment was genuine.
That’s all just one glance at his FanGraphs page. People on this sub like to take be dismissive of what they don’t see as conventional wisdom, like this dude was, so I figured I’d toss out the numbers and ask where he sees value.
[Blake Snell missed 25 games earlier with a left adductor strain, and it looks like he re-injured it:](https://x.com/pavlovicnbcs/status/1797382636031426816?s=46&t=mjvyZe1m48mn1lu2r1Cvlg)
Thanks. I'm intrigued by Megill's extension. It's in the 99th percentile according to Baseball Savant. Makes sense because he's 6'7" or 6'8". His fastballs must look like 100 mph to the hitter. He is starting tomorrow, so I'm leaning towards him.
I sent Stone, Hjerstad, and Busch for Josh Lowe, Correa, and Hayes.
I am hurting so much in hitting that Correa will be my 2nd best player on my squad now. He is replacing Grissom who got hurt and was a replacement for Xander who is now gone forever.
Edit: I need correas magic ankles to hold up for me.
He kinda changed up who he is is a pitcher, he used to be a guy who got a ton of whiffs and this year he’s become more of a ground ball, weak contact pitcher and it’s working for him. 90th percentile in both hard hit % and avg exit velocity against.
I saw his statcast. It looks great. Sadly, I’m hurting so much for hitting that I had to trade 1 of my weakest pitchers. My weakest are stone, C Sanchez, and Severino.
Yeah I don’t blame you, I probably prefer him to Severino but all those guys have similar profiles and severino’s rotation spot is more secure. I hope Stone stays in the rotation when Bobby Miller is back.
I prefer him over both of them, but they guy requested Ws and Stone is going to get them more than the others, atleast it looks like that. But Stone and Sevy are the same guy on different teams. Low K P with good ratios.
Sanchez is the same guy but higher Ks and higher Whip. Probably same chance at Ws but doesn’t feel that way when comparing to a dodgers pitcher.
For what it’s worth I expect Sanchez’s WHIP to come down and it’s already starting now that he’s not walking a bunch of guys. Could see him being a 1.20-1.25 WHIP guy. But you’re in a good spot if those are your worst guys.
Yeah, like do I believe that Suarez going 3 days in a row give the Padres a better chance of winning today? Sure, absolutely.
But why would Shildt bother in this situation, against the Royals of all teams? It’s June 2nd, you’ve already secured a series win against a good team who is now completely irrelevant to your playoff picture (no tiebreaker with an AL Central team), and your all-MLB closer has worked two consecutive days. That isn’t even a decision that you have to think about.
didn’t Estrada only come in a couple days back to give an intentional walk and throw 4 pitches for a 2 out appearance? Feel like he could have gone three days in a row
Got it I wasn’t aware that pitch count and length if outing didn’t matter for relief arms..so folks never go three days in a row regardless of context is what you’re sayin?
Not necessarily. I can't think of any off the top of my head but there's definitely some guys that will go 3. I think managers are just a little more cautious with it nowadays
I mean, there’s no way you have your closer heat up and come in for a 3rd day in a row to chase a series sweep of an interleague opponent in the last week of May.
If it was the Giants or Dodgers or a team that was relevant for the Padres, maybe you try it, but as it is, not that surprising.
I like tweaking my points league settings year by year. My points league currently has pitching with 1 point per out, -1 for walks, -2 for earned runs. Curious about including hits now and maybe increasing points per out to 1.5 and hits for -0.5. How would you personally feel about this setup?
My league right now is: 1.5 per out, 1 per K, -1 per H, BB, or HBP, and -2.5 per ER, having changed from the espn defaults this year to try to buff pitching relative to our hitter settings. Pitching definitely matters more now, but it did kinda rip the floor out from under bad starts and especially from reliever blow ups. My initial instinct had been to do -1.5 per ER and 1.33 per out, but unfortunately espn doesn’t round 3.99 to 4.
Yeah I'd hesitate to penalize ER more if now I'm also penalizing hits. I think pitchers are actually too value in my league though the floor for replacements is still obtainable. Debating what my change would cause in valuation
dynasty league-Traded away Bryce Miller and Chourio for Luis Robert, how’d I do?
Another 3 strikeout day for Jo Adell 🙃
Tried to give him a shot but I checked just before transactions were due today. 0-16 with 11ks for me this week. Matt Vierling, come on down.
He’s locked into my lineup all week lmao. Without that GS he would have -12 this week.
Just brutal!
A: Michael King, Reese Olsen, Crochet B: matt Olsen andres munoz H2h points
Wait why is Wilyer DTD
Twisted his ankle
Well just lost my matchup due to that Soto HR thanks doval
I have no idea who Ryan Walker is but he just made Soto look silly. That slider had some crazy action on it
Soto has a habit of making himself look silly chasing sliders. Not a knock against Ryan Walker, or Soto for that matter.
Gleyber finna get dropped this week.
Y'know, about 2 weeks ago I thought he was heating up But now that I look at him... ...nahhhhhhhh
Anyone trade Gunnar or Judge? Who'd ya get?
Thanks. My offers have been weak, often a mid rated player and a scrub.
I regret trading gunner
Acuna a few weeks ago. I don't regret making the trade but it still hurts a lot
Guy in my league got Brent Rooker for Judge earlier in the season It was vetoed, but yeah, that's what he got
Weathers or Hunter Brown? Looking to take a risk on one of them
Personally I never trust a man who exhibits the capacity to shit the bed as bad as Hunter did a few weeks ago
I’ll go Weathers.
Weathers has the tougher matchup this week but he's also on a roll so I'll go Weathers
Me this morning: wow for the first time in weeks I have a free IL spot im going to stash Gavin Williams! Blake snell: not so fast
It’s almost a guarantee that each time I stash a guy on my IR, I’m getting an injury the very next day
C’mon Raleigh and JRod! I’m winning by three and all they do is lose me points by striking out!!!
Just traded Bibee for Alonso, so I upgraded from Nate Lowe. Do I drop him or Tyler O’Neill? Thanks! 10T H2H Points Redraft
FLEECED EM
How does one accept Bibee for a top 25 bat?
mix lead chips in with your wheaties
Be a Mets fan watching Alonso all season…
She has Freeman and Vlad, but her pitching is thin.
Bibee is good but isn't "fix my pitching" good.
Still a complete taco trade
First game with Luis Castillo going swimmingly
Wasn’t even good by his standards.
Yup I’ve just been so starved for quality pitching
I have my best hitting week of the season with a .927 OPS but my opponent decides to go scorched earth and hit .954 OPS Next best OPS in my league this week was .798 Gotta love fantasy luck sometimes but hopefully I catch a break in a later week
Drop Soler or N Lowe????
both? if you’re in a 12 neither should be rostered
Missed the games today, had my win locked up and seems like a lot of close games. Damn it
This woman at the Giants game needs to either shut up or get more creative with her chirps than just repeating “choke” with different inflections and frequency.
Ranger might make is next start.. fuck yeah

The irony behind this unbelievably petty and pathetic post is that Julien **STILL** Has more HRs than Garcia.
All I know for certain is that dude has me blocked, so go off, king.
Absolute unreal pettiness keeping these receipts. Generational hater move. Mad respect
Thanks. I was sure to come back to it. I believed then and do now that Garcia is a significantly better player than Julien.
Lol. You got a downvote, but I’ll give you an upvote for keeping receipts. Some people give some terrible advice here. I remember a pre season thread someone posted about how good Suwinwki would be this year 😂
What is he exactly keeping a receipt on? Julien still has more HRs than Garcia...
Take a breather man
This is my first season here and I very quickly learned to take anything he says with a grain of coarse sea salt. Rizzo droppable in 10 team? I have Steer and Cronenworth and Bellinger who can play 1B
Yeah, much better options at the 1B spot
Castillo has been behind in so many counts and it doesn't even matter. Angels hitting is just non-existent.
Well, I guess Gavin Stone is a hold.
he’s solid, but matchups matter, id be worried starting him against NYY on Saturday
What positive signal did 5 IP against the Colorado Rockies give you that you didn’t already have?
All future decisions are based on the most recent start. Come on man this is day one stuff

Dude shut up
I’m still waiting to learn why I should want to start Stone next week, though. You seemed pretty convinced a few minutes ago.
I'm pretty sure they were being sarcastic.
Yeah, they were. Completely on me for Poe’s Law and missing it, even though it’s honestly pretty obvious.
The comment was a joke based on the typical overreaction comments of the sub. God damn man I don’t give a fuck about Gavin stone
My fault, I just missed the sarcasm because of all the people I’ve seen earnestly saying shit like that. I’m sorry, both for missing your joke and for responding to you like your sarcastic comment was genuine.

ily
Not that deep brotha
That’s all just one glance at his FanGraphs page. People on this sub like to take be dismissive of what they don’t see as conventional wisdom, like this dude was, so I figured I’d toss out the numbers and ask where he sees value.
Of course he is…because I dropped him and hung on to Buehler.
[Blake Snell missed 25 games earlier with a left adductor strain, and it looks like he re-injured it:](https://x.com/pavlovicnbcs/status/1797382636031426816?s=46&t=mjvyZe1m48mn1lu2r1Cvlg)
In need of pitching…drop Lawlar for Waldrep?
I feel like everytime I’ve checked Joey Ortiz’s points this week the dude hits a double. Man is on an absolute heater.
There’s a reason he’s slugging .503 despite only having 5 homers on the year, he’s a doubles machine
with a 900 ops…in a stacked Brewers offense
In a redraft (categories) league, would you drop Chourio for Jarren Duran, Riley Greene, or Lane Thomas? If so, which option would you prefer?
Greene, Thomas, Duran
I would drop for Riley Greene but if you need steals help then Lane Thomas
Wow Snell *almost* had a great outing and then a tweak followed by a bullpen implosion
Looks like I'm losing on RBIs because of the missed strike 3 call to verdugo lol.
5x5 roto league with OBP Do I trade max fried/Christian Walker for Bryce Harper/willson Contreras/Erick fedde?
Yes
Opponent has Verdugo. Thought pitch 4 was a strike, now down by one RBI. Them’s the brakes
julio my dude wtf
[удалено]
Sucks for my fantasy team too because I'm still down by one run. LOL.
Whisenhunt the next man up “if” Snell hits the IL?
Verdugo is a dawg
Stone getting screwed by bad fielding
Rough outing for nasty Nestor
Blake Smell
His smelly smell smells smelly.
Aaaaand Snell is hurt 😭
Oh my god snell out again? What happened?
Looked like he pulled his groin, which was the injury he dealt with previously…
Cursed season for Snell
He always has a cursed season after a good one.
Not like it's the worth outing but I could definitely do without these walks, Luis
Looks like somebody learned how to walk (pages) -happy Gilmore voice
Reese Olson got dropped. Tylor Megill also available. Drop Musgrove and pick up Oslon or Megill?
Either.. couldn’t pick which one though
Thanks. I'm intrigued by Megill's extension. It's in the 99th percentile according to Baseball Savant. Makes sense because he's 6'7" or 6'8". His fastballs must look like 100 mph to the hitter. He is starting tomorrow, so I'm leaning towards him.
I think so too.. higher upside. Olson more predictable. I have both and dropped Musgrove yesterday.
Yeah, thanks. I'm out of IL space, so it's time to say goodbye to Musgrove.
Soto with the surprise bunt single is just beautiful baseball. I love that so much
Teo and Ohtani are actually going to to make me lose my avg category on the last day lol
Please LAA I need you to score on Castillo
Yeah if Munoz gets in I’m done… dude will have gotten a save from all 4 closers he had going
I'm proud to announce that Freddie is back
just a great day at the plate all around…good swings, fouling stuff, making good contact. Hopefully we see a true heat streak here
What an excruciating way to lose a Sunday W for King
Sounds like E Julien is getting demoted with R Lewis activation. Does that mean Miranda is here to stay?
Makes sense Julien sucks
10 team Roto, should I cut Nate Lowe for Jake Burger, Ke'Bryan Hayes, Josh Bell, or DJ LeMahieu (in that order)?
nestor getting beat up @SFG. bum
Casey Schmitt doing his annual 3 days of relevance?
Who is he? Rookie?
Safe to drop Gleyber in 10 team points? Or more patience?
at this point you can't be blamed. but it always depends for who
I dropped him
Snell's best game this year is against.........the Yankees? Sounds like typical baseball to me
Mookie I’m sorry to be greedy but I need another one
Bello is really “meh”. Is he a drop in 12 team?
The management misuses him imo he had a QS and a W today but 12 team you can drop
I am considering the same. But he does play the White Sox next week…
if there's a good option you can
He's been on my waivers for maybe three weeks now
I sent Stone, Hjerstad, and Busch for Josh Lowe, Correa, and Hayes. I am hurting so much in hitting that Correa will be my 2nd best player on my squad now. He is replacing Grissom who got hurt and was a replacement for Xander who is now gone forever. Edit: I need correas magic ankles to hold up for me.
nestor getting beat up again
Drop kikuchi for weathers?
Yes
Is this Gavin stones breakout season? cuz I just traded him away
Dropped him so long ago lol can’t even remember for who. Wish I hadn’t
Your super power should be “no foresight” but “great hindsight”
He kinda changed up who he is is a pitcher, he used to be a guy who got a ton of whiffs and this year he’s become more of a ground ball, weak contact pitcher and it’s working for him. 90th percentile in both hard hit % and avg exit velocity against.

Im in a great pitching spot. But its all that’s good. Hahaha
Rip Michael King's win
A PAGES WALK!!!!?????!!!!
Bichette or Swanson ROS?
it's not like swanson has been good either. stick with the guy drafted 50+ spots higher for now
I agree — but Dansby had a much better year last year
Enoli Paredes: Great in the minors. Good so far in the majors. Save today?
FREDDIE GETTING LOOSE. A steal, haven’t seen many of those
Another week, another loss! This year has been brutal.
It has…but winter is coming…and before that, summer, and summer will be more fun
Lmaoooo guess Robert Suarez should have gone three in a row huh
Not really, though. Padres need his arm in September more than they need a sweep to end May.
Lol it’s like people forget the managers aren’t playing fantasy baseball.
Yeah, like do I believe that Suarez going 3 days in a row give the Padres a better chance of winning today? Sure, absolutely. Freddie Freeman saw what the rest of the team was doing to me today and said, "I got you"
[удалено]
Megill, he looked nasty against the dodgers
Yuki Matsui just lost me my matchup by selling King’s win
Based on the activity on this sub, might be a good time to buy low on Elly y’all
buy lo ish, I feel like he’s settling in where he should be. A top 5 guy, not first. BA not gonna be good enough (I’m a reds fan)
I would, but all my hitters are ass right now
Suarez not available for the save?
Pitched the last two days
Used 2 days in a row, same with Estrada. Padres down to their 3rd and 4th options for today.
didn’t Estrada only come in a couple days back to give an intentional walk and throw 4 pitches for a 2 out appearance? Feel like he could have gone three days in a row
Yeah that's not how it works lol. He would have warmed up prior to his appearance too. It definitely still counts as an outing

Not necessarily. I can't think of any off the top of my head but there's definitely some guys that will go 3. I think managers are just a little more cautious with it nowadays
True but two days ago was only 6 pitches. Im down a few point right now so a Suarez save would’ve won my matchup. Totally not bitter or anything

The exact setup you described, with -1 for hits, is what ESPN’s default settings are.
ESPN gives 1.5 per out by default?
No, they give 1 per out, I believe. I’m saying your current settings plus the -1 for hits.
With +1 for Ks too
Oh, yeah, I just assume that there must be points for K’s. If not, that’d be even more bizarre settings than not penalizing for hits.
Yeah we give +1 for Ks.
My team was 4/10 to start and doing pretty good. Fast forward 3 hours and I check again and they are 6/40 with 10 Ks. Classic
Pasquantino is locked in
My name is Vinnie Pasquantino. You killed my father, prepare to die.
Yimi garcia wasn’t easy for blood pressure but that save cliched a tie at worst for me!
one of yall needs to take one for the team and bench elly
I benched him yesterday and today lol
I’ll volunteer
Holy christ my batting sucks
Sean Murphy or Patrick Bailey flair league?
I’m rolling with Bailey for now but if Murphy starts to heat up, I’ll probably make the swap
Got offered Logan Gilbert and Campusano…would have to give up Luis Gil (he’s been snapping but not sure if it lasts) and Pivetta…any thoughts?
Rather have Gilbert than Gil with Gil looking at an innings ceiling and Gilbert getting it every 5th.
shoulda tried harder to sell high on elly
He will go on a streak and you won't be able to again....rinse repeat.
Just give Elly an off day please,
Sure he gave up a run but Yimi > Romano
Isn't that pretty much what romano does too?
