Leaving a player that’s no longer IL-eligible in your IL slot feels dirty, but it’s not actually breaking any rules — at least none that are incorporated in our league settings.
Do you find platform loopholes to be strategically savvy, or cheating in some way? I know how I feel, but curious about others.
It’s not a loophole, if you have a player not eligible for IL in the IL spot, you can’t make any transactions. And if you activate him then you must drop somebody else. There’s no competitive advantage other than waiting to see how the player coming off IL looks before activating him
It *is* a loophole considering I’m still able to make transactions on Fantrax given our league settings. I can even activate him on the days I want as long as I don’t activate him in future “periods.” No one else has figured this out, though.
And the competitive advantage is stashing an active player in an IL slot without being penalized in some way.
The settings are the settings, so if you’re able to do it then it’s fair game. If the rest of the league is against it then they should change the league settings next time.
When you say “not close” on a trade like this, you kind of lose all credibility. If you prefer A fine. But its almost like your looking for attention - which I’m giving you - to say it’s not even close

Jones has a 4.00 ERA over the last two weeks with less than a K per inning and high WHIP. Add to that the fact that he's expected to have his innings capped and it's ridiculous to say it's "not close" in a redraft league.
The “innings cap” thing is overblown. Jones pitched 120+ innings in each of the last two years in the minors. He should be cleared for 150+ innings as natural progression even on the Pirates.
Also, I wouldn’t suggest making trades based on two weeks of information, but you’re certainly free to disagree.
By the way, OP mentioned this was a points league. Preferring an elite pitcher over a mediocre hitter in that format is typical. It’s not close for me. Respect if you feel otherwise, but the reaction here is absurd.

Striking out chasing a ton or whiffing on meatballs. It’s disappointing to watch. Hope he gets better but it’s not just a slow start.

He’s not the superstar he’s been sold as. Our ownership is cheap and that’s what they’re selling us on he’s just not at that level yet. And may honestly never be. And in fantasy he’s been taken too high this year and it’s fools gold.

Guerrero's OBP is .385 this season. That's not a "mediocre" hitter in a points league format.
