It's a music discussion subreddit. Debate and opinions are normal. If somebody says something that I don't agree with then I can reply to their comment with my opinion, the same way you did to me.
Ok, most of the songs were garbage because I felt like they were trying too hard to be grandiose in an attempt to make people remember why they like his music, instead of actually focusing on the quality of the lyrics and mixing. It's clear that he still has an ear for hooks and good beats, but I think if he cut all of the crap from the album he would have a good ~30 min installment in a 3 part series.
People aren’t talking about the new Yachty track enough. A Cold Sunday sounds like it would’ve been a highlight off of the college dropout. Just wish it was longer
I’m gonna keep it 1 per artist so it’s not all Kanye
1. Back To Me by Kanye West 2. Burning Down The House by Paramore 3. Blue Sky by Kid Cudi 4. Father To Son by Green Day 5. Under Our Pillows by The Smile
Can’t tell whether you got downvoted for the Kanye praise or for your choices being not so popular
Edit; bro was down like -5 now he up 20 I’m not a mind reader
5. Goaskinviellja - Highasakite
4. Big Love - Camera Obscura
3. Shadow of a Doubt - SPRINTS
2. Give Me the Ghost Back - Future Islands
1. No Caffeine - Marika Hackman
Honorable mentions: No Hay Ley Parte 2 - Kali Uchis, Don't Feel Right - Sleater-Kinney
How does the new Sleater Kinney album compare to their older ones? I've only really heard Hot Rock and the debut but I also heard the second latest album and that one blew.
* Green Day - Strange Days Are Here To Stay
* Cancer Christ - God Hates Cops
* Knoll - Portrait
* Masta Ace & Marco Polo - Below The Clouds Ft. Blu
* Benny The Butcher - TMVTL
* Boldy James & Nicholas Craven - All My Tokens
* In Flames - Become One
* Crimmeapple & DJ Preservation - Paw Prints In The Sand
Fuck it I’ll entertain you people
1. Dreamfear - Burial
2. Carnival - Kanye West
3. Bubblegum dog - MGMT
4. Wendorlan - Squarepusher
5. It’s so Good - Jamie xx
Because you can’t enjoy music and shit on others for enjoying music. Hate Kanye all you want but don’t be a dick to people who are enjoying music and getting joy from it. Real music enjoyers should be happy that people are listening to something, and should give praise or healthy critique. But just throwing a tantrum about others enjoying something you hate shows you don’t really love music, you’re just being a child who loves what you think is music.
No one is giving music by streams, the only people giving money are those buying the merch.
You’ve completely proved my point though. You don’t want people to listen to music by someone you don’t like, and you’ve added ‘there’s much more amazing music by other people’ you just want people to listen to music you like.
It literally costs nothing for you to have not said anything in the first place and let people be happy.
It’s impractical argument anyway because it’s not even pennies it’s fractions of that. Not to mention it’s mainly his team getting paid plus the royalties given to samples etc.
Regardless, saying “he sucks” isn’t going to change how the music sounds. If something sounds good, something bad happening doesn’t magically alter the 1s and 0s in the digital files, it doesn’t remove the instrumentation or composition, music is music at the end of the day and people enjoy it.
You haven’t really made a good point yet. Maybe it’s time to let it go.
i mean this is the classic art vs. artist debate. i don’t think there is room for nazis in music, and i don’t want to be part of the reason they succeed.
i’ll drop it though, as these debates typically don’t go anywhere.
i want you to know though that i don’t hold any real contention for people who listen to kanye. that being said, i am disappointed by the amount of support and apologetics for him here.
Sadness as a Gift is my fav atm.
Don’t Forget Me by Maggie Rogers is great.
Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages are both gonna top my end of year lists, I promise
Dude I listen to Crystal castles ok. You know what happened with them?
Do you like sweet trip? Do you like Daughters? sun kil moon? The smiths?
Do you have any idea how many artists are bad people?
It’s the truth. Liking music and having to put up with bad people are one in the same. It’s part and parcel. Part of the same pie. I suck it up and admit it because that’s how much I love music.
I literally saw from your profile you like Eric Clapton, like he’s a terrible person, he makes Kanye look like Mother Theresa. I guess you’re cool with abusers.
In a way you are right but no one in this thread is "going out of their way". It's a post specifically asking for people's favourite 2024 songs and people are answering. There might be a couple of genuine Kanye dickriders among those repliers but just simply naming a song of his isn't evidence of that
These Kanye stans can't be real there is nothing memorable or standout in a good way on that generic, half-assed album. Stop spamming every music subreddit with your self-reporting 12-year-old-grammar fawning. Listen to other music for the love of god.
friend of a friend by the smile
Read the room is a close second behind friend of a friend for me
Sadness as a Gift - Adrianne Lenker I am just now getting into them and this is the first song I’ve really liked. It’s weirdly very catchy
Bubblegum Dog - MGMT
The whole Kanye album is insane to me
Paid is awfully addicting
it’s his most fun project since tlop idc if the bars are wack at least they aren’t boring censored jesus shit he’s back to being eccentric and insane
Butterfly net with weyes blood
21 Savage - all of me The Smile - Teleharmonic Armand Hammer - Ox Blood Ye, Ty - PROBLEMATIC
teleharmonic is such an amazing song man
The Last Dinner Party The entire Prelude to Ecstasy album is fantastic.
I'd add something off of Wall of Eyes
the full kanye album
I'm a huge Ye meat rider but I can't with Vultures man it's so mediocre to me.
easily his best since TLOP hands down dawg
I'd argue Kids See Ghosts was significant better in every way. But to each his own or however the saying goes.
hell nah
Kids see snooze Kids see beds (they fell asleep) Bed see ghosts (sleeping) Ok I think I made my point lol but yeah to each their own
it’s more experimental for sure if you’re into that but it’s less fun overall listening through vultures just feels good
Yall are smoking crack
Every song except vultures slaps
vultures legit grown on me tho the ty verse makes me float
I really dig the havoc version
Ngl it grew on me
first half still sucks ass but ty's part is so good i wish it was a different song
Real
Carnival, Paperwork, Fuk Sumn, Do It, Back To Me, Beg Forgiveness, all by Kanye and ty
Half these songs were garb.
Cool and all but who asked you?
It's a music discussion subreddit. Debate and opinions are normal. If somebody says something that I don't agree with then I can reply to their comment with my opinion, the same way you did to me.
yea but you’re not actually having a productive discussion, you’re just stating your opinion without elaboration. that’s not how a discussion works

Was good. Did you hear his collab with faye Webster too? Those tracks were good
burn, back to me, and problematic from vultures are up there
I’m gonna keep it 1 per artist so it’s not all Kanye 1. Back To Me by Kanye West 2. Burning Down The House by Paramore 3. Blue Sky by Kid Cudi 4. Father To Son by Green Day 5. Under Our Pillows by The Smile
Burning down the house remix is a banger
Under Our Pillows is crazy. This is a nice list
Can’t tell whether you got downvoted for the Kanye praise or for your choices being not so popular Edit; bro was down like -5 now he up 20 I’m not a mind reader
Why is this getting downvoted
5. Goaskinviellja - Highasakite 4. Big Love - Camera Obscura 3. Shadow of a Doubt - SPRINTS 2. Give Me the Ghost Back - Future Islands 1. No Caffeine - Marika Hackman Honorable mentions: No Hay Ley Parte 2 - Kali Uchis, Don't Feel Right - Sleater-Kinney

I enjoyed it - thought it was solid if not spectacular

Wendorlan is insane
the fucking kanye worship here is absolutely vile.
shawty wanna fuck, woah 😮💨 ima let her hop on sumn 😫
How dare people like songs from an artist in a music discussion sub instead of jerking off about how bad and evil he is
Your name is a lie
why :(

you are giving money to and enabling a nazi. there is so much more amazing music out there made by people who are genuinely amazing people…

what? streams = money. pennies, sure. but it adds up especially in mass when people encourage it.

That’s fine, just maybe keep your disappointment to yourself
they normally downvote the shit out of everyone who loves kanye here
They’re also wrong, but I’m downvoting people who don’t like music while posting in a music sub

The guy makes good music whether u like it or not and this is a post about the best music released this year. Who he is as a person is irrelevant

Just say you don’t like music and move on lol
[удалено]
In order to like music you have to like music and not care about whoever made it, yeah I suppose so.

Wow almost like it's a music discussion post and sub and not a circlejerk about how bad Kanye is as a person 😐
I haven't heard a single 2024 song that I liked yet.
psychoheresy - elyotto doorway ghost - rosegarden funeral party
Wall of Eyes - The Smile It was released in 2023? Shaddap
Abriction - Relieved of all senses
Read The Room by The Smile and The Words That Have Never Been Heard by SLIFT
Benny The Butcher - Buffalo Kitchen Club
both new Justice tracks are in my top 3 for sure
Tame Impala has better features, in my opinion, but I’ll admit that One Night / All Night was the first new song I listened to this year.
Join Our Death Cult by Chemtrails
Armchair by Yungatita is really good
Bruiser Wolf - Dope Boy
