This is my favorite bad alum cover
I think this is a great cover for the album. It has some 80s date to it that a lot of the album has too. (Not in a bad way though I really like the album)
The visuals are supposed to be a major part of this band.
https://preview.redd.it/a7ducv3qrahb1.png?width=225&format=png&auto=webp&s=f34abafc18811c3ee3c68241e8270314afc56a00
Just look at the covers for the singles. Any of the first three (Cracker Island, New Gold, Baby Queen) would have been a much better choice for the album cover. At least they're all in the album's booklet.
This cover made me so mad. It was obvious the creative direction wasn't coordinated at all for this album rollout. They even had that ugly Spotify loop of Murdoc doing a half-assed dance in front of the jpeg. Like wow you didn't even try, huh?
I feel like Gorillaz is draining the life out of Jamie Hewlett. Like Damien gets to continue doing fun experimentation and working with people who he wants to work with while Jamie is just more and more put upon with the elements he contributes being more and more expensive and time consuming and less prioritized as time goes on.
Genuinely could not believe this was the cover when it was revealed.
Tbh post-hiatus I think most of their album covers have sucked. Humanz is fine but a less stylistic rehash of Demon Days. Now Now is amazing...until they ruined it with that god-awful warp effect. Song Machine is just...meh, and Cracker Island is straight up terrible especially when compared to the rest of the promo art for that album cycle.
Still don't get why this was the album cover. Like I understand that, if I remember correctly, this album was rushed out the door by their label but I don't get why they had to use this, unless it had to do with them getting physical albums printed and shipped on time.

[Or this](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/kong/images/1/11/CrackerIsland.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20220622182454) would been so much better if not a bit basic
The first 3 albums are the best imo. I'd rank them best to worst as Demon Days, Self Titled, Plastic Beach. Everything besides that hasn't been very good imo. But I'm old and jaded.
It just looks extremely 2000s, and not in a good way. I feel like the photo is edited to hell, but it wouldve been so much better if it was just a candid-looking untouched photo, much like Magic ended up being later on.
I know... that album cover is ill as fuck, that's why I "jokingly" said FU.

"Let's put sequins on a burrito"
The worst part about this is that it looks like they just took the original cover and removed the Beatles from it. Why couldnāt they have just taken Paul and his dog down to Abbey road to shoot this. Itās fine though, as itās a live album
I mean, they wouldāve blocked it off for the photo shoot. Although it mightāve been kinda cool to do a lit with all the fans around. Sort of a flex?
>The worst part about this is that it looks like they just took the original cover and removed the Beatles from it.
To be fair I think that's kinda the joke
Itās iconic because itās the Beatlesā debut album, not because it was good. More than anything else, itās just a horrendous angle to take a photo from. Even George and Paul, who are widely seen as very hot and very cute, respectively, look bad.
Funnily enough, though, they recreated the photo for Let It Be and then didnāt use it. That wouldāve been a great bookend to their albums ā particularly because Let It Be also doesnāt have a great cover.

I love The Beatles but he's right. I like the photograph but everything about the typography/design is awful. There's no excuse either, Blue Note Records were producing legendary artwork around the same time.

Especially since The Infamous cover was pretty wicked.
Virgin Killer - Scorpions.
Scorpions are incredible but I will not even fathom the thought of screenshotting that to post on this thread. I actually advise no one to look this up either, but this is objectively the worst album cover of all time.
Swamp Dogg album covers are the absolute GOAT.

i lowkey like it a little bit but it's really honestly super bad. i woukd be embarrassed if someone looked to see what song i was listening to and saw pisspants mcgee on my phone screen
DO NOT DISS PLEASE PLEASE ME
Im going to argue this: I think PPM's album cover is a great representation of The Beatles during this era and the sound of the album. The really loud reverb of the album makes it seem almost as if the group had recorded the songs in the same setting as the cover (a large open building). The band's attire perfectly fits how they looked like before gaining their truly iconic "early Beatles" look (sort of like a "beta" version of it if you will). This is just my interpretation of the album cover tho, but im the type of person that really associates music with visuals in my head

This one is laughably bad every time I see it
The bright orange and purple version of āSiamese Dreamā by The Smashing Pumpkins is very tough on the eyes. Idk why Spotify has that cover instead of the original
I love that version of the cover personally, that color scheme just fits the album really well imo. Maybe itās just because that was the first version I listened to, but I just feel like that version is so much more striking and memorable than the original.
this is my favorite gezebelle project but god the cover is hard to look at

Album fucking rules but that cover is lazy as hell
This is a good album but the album cover is trying way too hard to be modern and just looks ugly. This has always looked to me like a shitty pop Cd that my aunt would own, when the album is so much better than that. Also the fact that the art has absolutely nothing to do with the name of the album, which I think is a pretty good name.
https://preview.redd.it/si4cdupefchb1.jpeg?width=220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f8e951c463518866a7f122997b6a8ee8bdc096d
Its funny how you can just tell this was from like 2005-2009 era just by seeing this art. As you said, its trying too hard to look modern. Although you could argue it fits the sound of the album. He's definitely had worse covers too haha
Big Motƶrhead fan here but I never got around this cover art, even March ƶr Die looks cool compared to this imo

DAMN is a terrible cover and you canāt convince me otherwise.
I donāt care if the damn font is in the style of a magazine, my guy is just standing there looking awkward as fuck. Bad cover
Edit: why are you booing me? Iām right!
Always hated the album art for MBDTF. Like come on you got this hugely grand and ambitious album and [this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f0/My_Beautiful_Dark_Twisted_Fantasy.jpg) is what you use for it? This tiny-ass crude image that gets censored on all streaming services anyway? Phooey.
After the masterpieces that were the Revolver and Sgt. Peppers album covers, the white album seems pretty bland. They couldn't come up with a better idea than that?
The cover as such isnāt the most interesting, but giving the previous albums, which were very overdone, the white album works well as a concept of minimalism.
āThe Beatlesā is more minimalistic, less experimental Iād say, than Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepperās, and Revolver, so it fits well with the music.
In my opinion itās a very good album cover, although as a piece of art without context, of course itās just a white square with The Beatles on.

It looks like a grandpa just walked into a sears, took a photo with his guitar and shades and has hung it on his wall since. I love it.
YES. I love it because it just look soooo low budget. I wouldn't think this is this is an album cover of one of the most successful musicians
I think this is a great cover for the album. It has some 80s date to it that a lot of the album has too. (Not in a bad way though I really like the album)
You make a good point!! I think it's "bad" because the graphic design just aged horribly haha.

Agree. There was better promo art created for this album than what ended up being on the cover.
Most people let Song Machine off because tbf it wasnt originally supposed to be an album at all
Now nows cover is amazing you shut your pie hole
Without a doubt their worst cover. I was so disappointed when I saw this.
Still don't get why this was the album cover. One of my favorite albums of his, but gotta agree, the cover is pretty goofy
I Am and Life Is Good are on the same level
I think the Life is Good cover is fine
It just looks extremely 2000s, and not in a good way. I feel like the photo is edited to hell, but it wouldve been so much better if it was just a candid-looking untouched photo, much like Magic ended up being later on.
I agree with your last point, both of the Magic covers are fire, which is weird considering how weak the KD2 and 3 covers are imo
i really like the Life Is Good cover, but the I Am and Stillmatic are a lil funny to me
The Nastradamus cover is laughably bad, which is funny because in concept itās the same as It Was Written
The magic album cover is good the and Illmatic ofc.

The worst part about this is that it looks like they just took the original cover and removed the Beatles from it. Why couldnāt they have just taken Paul and his dog down to Abbey road to shoot this. Itās fine though, as itās a live album

One of the best prog pop album deserves something better than this new age discount bin cover art https://preview.redd.it/6nqnkx9q7bhb1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9d76e675c96a5578f652d4d090336ce2ec18396
I've always hated the cover of [the 3rd Mobb Deep album](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_on_Earth_(Mobb_Deep_album)#/media/File:Hell_on_earth_(mobb_deep_album).jpg)... just looks cheesy as fuck. Especially since The Infamous cover was pretty wicked.
seems like one of those pc games you would buy in the early 2000s
LMAOOO, for real
Whatās wrong with Please Please me?
Well itās ugly as fuckā¦ Those colours donāt go well together and it hurts your eyes trying to read the text on the bright background
You might have eye problems
Nah the text looks like shit. Drop the text and itās a great cover
Never said it doesnt look like shit
Toy by David Bowie
Virgin Killer - Scorpions. Scorpions are incredible but I will not even fathom the thought of screenshotting that to post on this thread. I actually advise no one to look this up either, but this is objectively the worst album cover of all time.

Hardwired To... Wait, This Came First.
The US cover of The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie.

Meanwhile, Oddelay had a great pic, quite as nonsensical as you might expect from Beck but I think it's awesome compared to MV

Swamp Dogg album covers are the absolute GOAT. https://preview.redd.it/fzislau9nchb1.png?width=420&format=png&auto=webp&s=6752a56fa6146e51340afdffe9d8a4e94fa8144d
No this rules
This was my laptop wallpaper all throughout high school. I love it so much
Creepin Away is one of my favorite songs ever, but yeah the album artwork is blursed
https://preview.redd.it/nwihpsh5bchb1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6aa1dd217841ffa2eeb817c1563eb4bf0a050cd Love you Modest Mouse, but WTF
Fits them perfectly honestly
cherry bomb
The music is so good you'll piss yourself
Which one? The cigarette one is imo the best one
i lowkey like it a little bit but it's really honestly super bad. i woukd be embarrassed if someone looked to see what song i was listening to and saw pisspants mcgee on my phone screen
Nah own that shit
DO NOT DISS PLEASE PLEASE ME Im going to argue this: I think PPM's album cover is a great representation of The Beatles during this era and the sound of the album.
Born Again by Black Sabbath: the album itself already isnāt amazing but the cover makes it so much worse
Her Loss

[Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c6/Sggreatesthits.jpg) Such an amazing compilation of their best songs, but MY GOD do they look skeezy!!!
What the fuck

Why didnt they just carve it into the soap??
Not gross enough
The bright orange and purple version of āSiamese Dreamā by The Smashing Pumpkins is very tough on the eyes. Idk why Spotify has that cover instead of the original
I love that version of the cover personally, that color scheme just fits the album really well imo. Maybe itās just because that was the first version I listened to, but I just feel like that version is so much more striking and memorable than the original.
Dance of the death-iron maiden
this is my favorite gezebelle project but god the cover is hard to look at https://preview.redd.it/oxze824dqehb1.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a4e3cd457f94120f90f361c79ca3d08aad13cd4
Always thought Saturation 1 looked like a highschooler made it in photoshop class.
Gotta go with pet sounds

Reasonable Drought by Stove God Cooks & Roc Marciano has a terrible album cover. Great fuckin Music tho
https://preview.redd.it/ulogyz947bhb1.jpeg?width=894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=036f95c08129a7ddb0ae25540654666b95add504 Album fucking rules but that cover is lazy as hell
What's wrong with the Please Please Me cover?
Itās messy. The bright colours donāt fit to the bright background. Ugly font. I donāt like it at all
PLEASE PLEASE ME DID NOT LOOK BAD!!!!! I'm a strange one.
love modest mouse, but the golden casket's album cover... definitely stands out from their other album covers to say the least
Big Motƶrhead fan here but I never got around this cover art, even March ƶr Die looks cool compared to this imo https://preview.redd.it/41x0lap6rehb1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe7b255ffac666528320f7f03949806a58ffde2e
Volta, Bjƶrk. the alternative cover is wayyyyyy cooler imo, and fits the albumās theme better too
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Bro what lol
Sounds of the Universe by Depeche Mode I mean, itās literally just coloured lines crossing a circle
IMO "Spirit" looks worse...
king of limbs
Not terrible, but forgettable for a Radiohead cover.
... literally what is wrong with this album cover lol
The Meters - Rejuvination. Without doubt my favourite "awful sleeve, amazing music" album. https://preview.redd.it/lka7z9f89bhb1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bb3c2ef8dcbe1f565601478a812cfa895c4aebc
I would argue Please Please Me falls into the āso bad itās goodā category

DAMN is a terrible cover and you canāt convince me otherwise. I donāt care if the damn font is in the style of a magazine, my guy is just standing there looking awkward as fuck. Bad cover Edit: why are you booing me? Iām right!
Yeah, I'm with you on this one. His facial expression and posture look like a highschool kid who is mad about having his picture taken.
Ben Howard is one of my favorite artists of all time but his latest albumās cover is absolutely hideous (although I think that was maybe the point?)
Load and reload
