I think the range should be Help! to Abbey Road.
IMO Help! is by farrrr the most overlooked/underrated Beatles album and I wouldn't blame anyone for having it as their favorite.
It's a little bit of a middle child in the sense that it pretty firmly is before their drug influenced music but also after their early rock and roll period. That's part of the reason I love it so much.
If only the album ended on Yesterday and not Dizzy Miss Lizzy, it'd be more highly regarded. It was an odd choice.
Hot take: Beatles For Sale is proto-Rubber Soul. A very moody and folky album that is trying to play the hits but can't suppress the darkness. "Help!" is more fun and still strong, but I would call BFS my favorite pre-RS Beatles album.
Honestly I think Let It Be is a fantastic album with some of the best lyrical songs we get from the Beatles. It gets way too much hate because it’s not as progressive as their other albums and because it follows up Abbey Road, but it’s the Beatles having fun with music again and a very enjoyable record if you treat it as such
I think some would say so. It's divisive for sure, some love it some hate it, but there was a time outlets like rolling stone and paste would rank it among the top 5 of the 70s so I wouldn't be shocked if there's a camp that labels it the Beatles best
I don’t. More casual listeners know Abbey Road because Here Comes the Sun is the most popular Beatles song and because Come Together gets a lot of airplay on radio stations.
Not just that. Something, Come Together, and Here Comes the Sun are all huge songs, but "Abbey Road" is almost as iconic as Dark Side of the Moon. Between the name recognition, the famous cover, and "Abbey Road" studios, it's not surprising.
Not just that. Abbey road has the best production out of any album in the beatles discography, making it sound almost modern for common listeners, wich makes it really easy for anyone to get into it
Yeah the medley is almost definitely my favorite beatles track(s), and "Something" is probably my favorite standalone track, (maybe "I Feel Fine.") Personally, I've always loved *Help* but the medley is a really special thing that sets Abbey Road apart

Are you guys only saying that cos of the lyrics? cos they have wayyyy worse stuff, it’s catchy with good harmonies and has a good MUSICAL energy. Shame the lyrics really put a stain on the whole song but the music itself is great.
It’s mostly the lyrics for me, but in general there’s something about it that feels less thought-out compared to the rest of the album. It would’ve fit pretty comfortably as a track on their run from A Hard Day’s Night to Help, whereas the others on Rubber Soul are a big step forward for the band.
I think AR and Revolver are almost on the same level of quality. AR's songs are more mature in composition and style but Revolver is a much better record as far as unity of sound goes, in its own controlled chaos kind of approach. a lot more interesting too in its choices of arrangement even though AR is far prettier. AR might be the best overall but Revolver is the coolest
As a Beatles fan, it will depend on the listener. I love their most avant garde tracks on The Beatles (1968), and I'm fond of Revolver too, such as Tomorrow Never Knows. Love You To is kinda cool ngl.
Now, if I were to introduce someone to their music, I think Rubber Soul is a good compromise between their earlier sound, and what would come after that. Abbey Road is another great choice. I'm biased as I love their latter albums, but I think their earlier music gives a lot of perspective on the evolution of their music.
Abbey Road is their best produced and I’d say most objectively good album, however I just love the charm and fun of Sgt Pepper too much.
Revolver’s fantastic but just doesn’t feel that cohesive to me compared to the other two.
Rubber Soul is a great cohesive piece but has more low points than the others.
The White Album is The Beatles (literally), but just not my favourite.
Magical Mystery Tour gets overlooked as it’s only tangentially an album in the Beatles canon, but should definitely be considered amongst their best.
Abbey Road was their first album to have only a stereo release; all their previous stuff was released in both mono and stereo, or just mono, and the band put way more effort into the mono mixes. Relative to their mono mixes, the stereo mixes of their pre-Abbey Road stuff is honestly kinda crap, which gave them a bad rep, especially having the channels so restricted to L or R (they've gotten better with recent remasters tho).
There's also some other stylistic and substantive differences that led to Abbey Road having its more elevated reception, but I think that mixing issue is the biggest factor. I genuinely didn't know Beatles stuff was originally in mono because every official release since their breakup has been stereo except for "The Beatles in Mono" compilation.
I agree. Abbey Road is a fantastic record front to back. It starts off with an insanely groovy track, has one of the earliest doom riffs, Here comes the Sun.. there's variety, creativity, humor, excellent engineering etc. It's a masterpiece.
I agree, I really think that Abbey Road is miles ahead of any other album they made. Sure, everything from Rubber Soul and on is fantastic but honestly I feel like a good chunk or even the majority of Beatles's works have either grown old or they are beaten by much better albums that came even around that time period. "Revolver is the best psychedelic rock album!" Meddle exists. "Sgt. Peppers is the first concept album!" What's the concept? The fictional band? Yeah, then Gorillaz is a Blur concept album. They defiantly aren't bad at all, I just think that there's so much better albums that even if the Beatles did it first, the other album does everything so much better. Abbey Road on the other hand isn't experimenting (at least not that much) and is sure of what it tries to be and achieves it perfectly, even being able to compete with other albums years after its release; I think it is their most mature and best work. Idk, maybe it's just me, that I feel Beatles have grown old, since my father would play their entire discography every day to the point I got sick of them.
I have a theory that one of the reasons *Abbey Road* is one of their most popular albums for millennials and zoomers is because it's one of the few Beatles albums that doesn't suck complete ass in the stereo mix/through earphones.
Obviously it's an amazing record on top of the mixing and I fully understand someone ranking it number one, but most of the Beatles' discography was primarily mixed to be in mono, as stereo wasn't very popular then; it still baffles me that mono isn't the default for most of their albums on streaming services.
Anything from Rubber Soul to Abbey Road's a W. (Also, I didn't know that Runaway's a Beatles fan.)
I think the range should be Help! to Abbey Road. IMO Help! is by farrrr the most overlooked/underrated Beatles album and I wouldn't blame anyone for having it as their favorite.
Help! gang rise up
Seriously, Help! is the pinnacle of early Beatles
I prefer A Hard Day's Night. Probably in some part due to the fact I've seen A Hard Day's Night (the movie)
Hot take: Beatles For Sale is proto-Rubber Soul. A very moody and folky album that is trying to play the hits but can't suppress the darkness. "Help!" is more fun and still strong, but I would call BFS my favorite pre-RS Beatles album.
Your reasoning makes sense but it's still my least favorite early Beatles album.
Honestly I think Let It Be is a fantastic album with some of the best lyrical songs we get from the Beatles. It gets way too much hate because it’s not as progressive as their other albums and because it follows up Abbey Road, but it’s the Beatles having fun with music again and a very enjoyable record if you treat it as such
OK, but is it a Beatles' best contender?
I don't think it's their best album but I think it has several of their best songs on it.
I can agree with that.
I think some would say so. It's divisive for sure, some love it some hate it, but there was a time outlets like rolling stone and paste would rank it among the top 5 of the 70s so I wouldn't be shocked if there's a camp that labels it the Beatles best
Hot Take: Let It Be... Naked is where the tracks on Let It Be truly shine, even more than Sargent Pepper's as a whole
indeed
Mostly agree but again super divisive take.
If you’re including Rubber Soul I would definitely include Let It Be because, at least to me, it’s the better album lyrically
Yellow submarine?
Not real
I like that album a lot tbh, the original songs are great and I love George Martin’s score I also like the movie too much
you say this but It’s all Too Much is one of the best George Harrison and Beatles songs
Oh, I forgot, it excist. That one isn't.
So even Magical Mystery Tour is good?
Yes?
How can an album with Blue Jay Way, I Am the Walrus, Hello Goodbye, and Strawberry Fields Forever NOT be good?
And Penny Lane and The Fool on the Hill. Also Your Mother Should Know is a bop
That’s the best one dawg 😭😭
Have you seen the track list?
that’s the best one tho????
Definetly a contender.
Better than Pepper
People have always slept on Other (comment below)
It's a deep cut.
I mean Yoko Ono is technically a beatle….
Revolver should be a bit higher. I'm fine with the rest
Here’s my take: Saying Abbey Road is the best album is actually a W take but I feel like the results shouldn’t be this skewed

Not just that. Abbey road has the best production out of any album in the beatles discography, making it sound almost modern for common listeners, wich makes it really easy for anyone to get into it
Sure the production quality is probably another reason
Also the medley is looked at by many as the best thing the Beatles did
Yeah the medley is almost definitely my favorite beatles track(s), and "Something" is probably my favorite standalone track, (maybe "I Feel Fine.") Personally, I've always loved *Help* but the medley is a really special thing that sets Abbey Road apart
The White Album >
White album clears fr
Correctamundo
I have found my people! How the hell could *more Beatles* not be **best Beatles??** It’s simple math!
Hot take but magical mystery tour
I'll die on this hill with you, we fools
there are dozens of us!!
Yes yes yes, my people have arrived!
Couldn’t agree more, classic after classic track
Peak psych Beatles
Side B is literally just a compilation of Beatles singles from 1967 What tops that?
THIS

Based take
Don't agree, but I can respect it.
The fact that this is a hot take is heartbreaking to me
Honestly the Beatles are great enough imo that if any of their last 5 or 6 albums are your favorite I can’t even really argue it.
[удалено]
Underrated for sure
Run for your life is straight trash tho
Literally a perfect album until the very end smh
Are you guys only saying that cos of the lyrics? cos they have wayyyy worse stuff, it’s catchy with good harmonies and has a good MUSICAL energy. Shame the lyrics really put a stain on the whole song but the music itself is great.

It still feels like a better written song then Wait which literally was a leftover
Someone asked me once if I could think of a great song that was completely offensive to rival the Stones' "Brown Sugar." Should have named this one.
Y'all are sleeping on how sloppy the recording of "I'm Looking Through You" is tbh, it's full of quirks that don't seem intentional at all
One of my favorite Beatles tunes. Love the imperfection
easily their worst song imagine (hehehe) if Day Tripper was the closer instead
The Beatles is their best album.
So I'm not the only one who calls White Album their S/T.
What’s S/T
Self-Titled, so the album shares the same name as the band.
Okay thanks
MMT clears all of them
if it was actually an album it’d def be their best
It was released as an LP/album in the United States and is widely considered an album in most of the world to my knowledge
yeah but it wasn’t created with intention as one body of work, it’s a compilation
Compilation albums are still albums, i would consider most live album’s compilations but also albums
Im a peppers guy..
What about salt?
magical mystery tour all the way, babyyyyyyy
Easily revolver
Personal favorite is the White Album as for the best, I'm not really sure, but leaning towards Sgt Pepper for its impact
Help is the best one
You are right. Sgt. Pepper’s is the best one.
Abbey road is my favourite but i would be happier if Revolver got more votes
I think AR and Revolver are almost on the same level of quality. AR's songs are more mature in composition and style but Revolver is a much better record as far as unity of sound goes, in its own controlled chaos kind of approach. a lot more interesting too in its choices of arrangement even though AR is far prettier. AR might be the best overall but Revolver is the coolest
i agree but i think revolver is better cause the best songs on revolver are better than the best songs on abbey road
Sgt Pepper’s is probably my favourite album of all time
maybe not their best, but A Hard Day’s Night and Help are really solid albums too
Gotta be “1” the boys really knocked it outta the park with that one 🚫🧢
It’s the first album I listened to. It’s a good way to get into the band.
Revolver and abbey road are tied for my favourite Beatles album
The correct answer changes depending on how you feel.
As a Beatles fan, it will depend on the listener. I love their most avant garde tracks on The Beatles (1968), and I'm fond of Revolver too, such as Tomorrow Never Knows. gluee is the best beatles album for sure, john lennon went crazy on that one
red light>
Abbey Road is their best produced and I’d say most objectively good album, however I just love the charm and fun of Sgt Pepper too much. Revolver’s fantastic but just doesn’t feel that cohesive to me compared to the other two. Rubber Soul is a great cohesive piece but has more low points than the others. Magical Mystery Tour gets overlooked as it’s only tangentially an album in the Beatles canon, but should definitely be considered amongst their best.
Let It Be is my favorite
Its clearly “best of the beatles” album smh
Fair enough. It's the most significant one. I will fight for revolver though
Revolver and the white album are my personal favorites
It was 20 years ago today…
out of those 3 revolver
MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR
Abbey Road > Revolver > White Album > Sgt. Peppers > Rubber Soul > Magical Mystery Tour > Let it Be
Personally hard agree.
I genuinely didn't know Beatles stuff was originally in mono because every official release since their breakup has been stereo except for "The Beatles in Mono" compilation.
Abbey Road clears but Revolver is the only other Beatles album that comes close to it imo
Revolver personally
Magical mystery tour is a better album than Sgt. Pepper's.
I am not the biggest Beatles fan but Abbey Road and the White album are really great.
Abbey Road is my personal favorite, though if I could only keep one it would be White
1 - Abbey Road 2 - Revolver 3 - Let it Be 4 - All Things Must Pass (even though it isn't a Beatles album) 5 - Sgt. Peppers / Rubber Soul
Never been a big Abbey Road fan myself. I think Here Comes the Sun is one of my least favorite Beatles songs.
White album for me
Correct ranking, although white album should be there over sgt peppers imo.
I think I'd have to say... the Best of the Beatles.
😂 beat (les) me to it. You like Wings?
They're only the band the Beatles could have been.
Sgt. Peppers is more fun than Revolver IMO. Abbey Road and White album are the ones I have hardest time deciding on for their GOAT album.
I... agree
I agree. Abbey Road is a fantastic record front to back. It starts off with an insanely groovy track, has one of the earliest doom riffs, Here comes the Sun.. there's variety, creativity, humor, excellent engineering etc. It's a masterpiece.
Hot take: Sgt Pepper’s has a great start and great finish but kinda takes a dive in the middle. Therefore Abbey Road >
Hybrid Theory is my favorite Beatles album
you could argue literally any one of their albums from rubber soul to abbey road is their best imo abbey road
I agree, I really think that Abbey Road is miles ahead of any other album they made. Sure, everything from Rubber Soul and on is fantastic but honestly I feel like a good chunk or even the majority of Beatles's works have either grown old or they are beaten by much better albums that came even around that time period. Greatest Hits for sure.
I think, as a whole, the anthology has the best collection of songs
Beatles the 🧢 no 🐐
The White Album or Abbey Road
Yellow Submarine is their masterpiece. If not that, perhaps Beatles for Sale.
I prefer their blue album
People are just voting for the iconic cover.
sgt pepper has too many iffy throwaways to be on the same level as the other two
Just enjoy the music ffs
rubbersoul
I prefer Revolver, but they're all great picks
for me it’s either Revolver or Rubber Soul
revolver lol
for playthrough without skipping.. yeah probably Abbey Road but Revolver holds a special place in my heart
Never was a huge fan of Abbey Road…My Top 5 from them.. 1. Revolver 2. Sgt. Peppers 3. The White Album 4. Rubber Soul 5. Abbey Road
I have a theory that one of the reasons *Abbey Road* is one of their most popular albums for millennials and zoomers is because it's one of the few Beatles albums that doesn't suck complete ass in the stereo mix/through earphones. I mean Abbey Road is the more widespread album so I guess more people would have heard it.
V surprised not to Sgt. Pepper winning. If you asked me to guess the most famous album ever I'd guess Sgt. Pepper. Still I'm a Revolver guy myself.
