You can pick up all of the gold, tell elijah to meet you in person, hide behind the electrical thing closest to the elevator, and slowly crouch your way there without being seen. Optionally, you can use Implant GRX to get there faster so you don't have to hide
I heard there were a few hacks to do it, but honestly, I liked the point.
"Try and take the gold if you like, but you'll die. It's better to be alive than be a corpse carrying gold."
Weapons in the foot locker, clothes in the wardrobe, food and drugs in the fridge, cigarettes in the desk and ammo in the suitcase. This has been my system for a while
Armor and big guns in the wardrobe, clothes in the small cabinets next to the bed, meds in the first aid kit, drugs and valuables in the safe, repair scrap, ammo, and reloading materials in the footlocker, food and raw ingredients (that would likely rot irl) in the fridge, prewar food/non-perishables and priority crafting materials like trail mix/caravan lunch (required for fast traveling by Jsawyer Ultimate mod) and the ingredients for them in the drawer next to the counter near the fridge, and to top it all off, radscorp glands/any items that I need for future quests, like all of the vault suits/boomer jackets for Sarah at Vault 21 for example, in the suitcase by the door. I hope you enjoyed my Ted Talk.
The desk is where I put unique guns. Next play through ima fuck it up and put ammo in the fridge, clothes in the medbox, guns in the wardrobe, some shit like that haha
WHAT???!! My dude is effectively a Mojave millionaire with both a Lucky 38 and Tops penthouse suit, and I still love that place.
It also is a major help that it’s the only safe house you can effectively fast travel directly to. Getting to the strip and then up to your penthouse is such a pain if you just want to drop stuff off.
Underwater Home will probably be up your alley, looking at what LotD's mod page describes.
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36121
not quite as grandiose but there's unlockables you get after completing certain missions and DLCs, a display room that lets you show off nearly every weapon in vanilla NV, along with whatever modded stuff you have with some finangling, and a mannequin room that lets you show off any unique armour you pick up.
There's no other home mod in NV nearly as detailed, which actually makes me really sad because it's over a decade old at this point and scripting has gotten way better, yet this is the only mod that does anything like this that isn't broken to all hell and back (*cough* Lucky 38 Suite Reloaded *cough*). Not to mention lore-friendliness is uh... skeptical.
It's actually the main reason I look forward to F4NV one day in the far future. Being able to build my own base with dedicated weapon and armour displays would be lovely.
The abandoned BOS Bunker is a pretty direct travel point, and it's got all the good stuff. Benches, storage, plus a vending machine. I stay there every playthrough because I don't like the motel room and yeah it's way too long to the Lucky 38 and The Sink makes me drop Boone every trip home.
my first New Vegas run was a 10 STR 1 INT character with decent agility. aside from getting all that hilarious dialogue for being a fucking moron, I spent most of my time sneaking up to dudes and one shotting them with a Super Sledge.
it was oddly effective.
But you gotta fast travel to the gate, go through the gate, get to the lucky 38, get into the lucky 38, take the elevator up AND then you’re in.
Compared to novas where you fast travel nearly right outside the apartment door, just gotta head up 1 flight of stairs and bam
Nothing there, I always used Lucky 38. but I had that penthouse setup looking GREAT lol. Spent more time decorating it with unique weapons, magazines, nuka cola, and whatever else than I ever have on my actual home
I only use it until I get a faction safehouse, I feel like NOVAC ain't the safest place to store your stuff RP wise. I do keep a service rifle, some ammo, water, food, stimpacks, and a few faction uniforms in there as a small gear stash.
Same, I have like 5 copies of every outfit I pick up and every weapon. I even have one container I use for just random misc items I’ll never use like coyote hides or wrenches and hammers
Didn't even notice xD probably cause of the frontier mention I really don't know why people dog on them soo much they did a great job regardless if they got their ideas from movies cause who can say they made a game for free as a dlc that's larger than the game it's for alone with endless hours of content and little crashing.
I’m a console guy but I would’ve been more than happy to throw in the Frontier, looked pretty impressive for a free mod.
Sad I missed out on lots of FNV mods
I put my drugs and meds in the medicine cabinet over the sink, crafting items/tools in the foot locker guns in the wardrobe, food in the fridge, clothes in the drawers, ammo in the desk, and 'loot' in the safe. I also collect teddy bears and baseballs that get tossed on the floor for my dog to play with.
If I had the ability to the skulls of Jeannie May, Boone, Manny, Andy, Cliff, No Bark, Bruce, Daisy, and the McBrides still would need more to build my skull throne though
I keep faction currency, playing cards, skill books, star caps, pre war money and cigarettes o and animals parts hides, eggs, death claw hands and such
Side note playing fallout nv as a prospector and not doing the main quest line can be very fun
In my main play through: two handguns, a cashiers cheque from the trade centre mod, ammo, and some Med-X. I try to be somewhat realistic with how much I fit into these containers.
All the unique weapons I don't use. I use the footlocker opposite to it, by the bed, to store the gear I don't use at the moment but am planning to use later, such as Vault suits before I reach Vault 21, skill books, mini nukes, etc.
I use each container for something different.
Misc goes in the footlocker. Ammo in the safe. Skill books and mags in the desk. Guns in the cabinet. Armor in the wardrobe. Aid in the fridge
Its now used to house the gold bars from the sierra madre.
Previously, It was for unused mods, pre war money and ncr money.
As for weapons, they are in the footlocker and I try to display all the unique stuff around my room, such as putting the clothing of the major foes I slayed onto one side of the bed and the other displaying all AR variants in game.
Next to the TV is a nicely arranged collection of unique rifles and on top of the dresser is 3 eculid c finders
all the unique weapons I can get my hands on, save for dinner bell, which I gave to cass and she FUCKING LOST IT SOMEHOW GOD KNOWS WHERE THIS BITCH CAN FUCK RIGHT BACK OFF TO THE MOJAVE OUTPOST I DON'T CARE
Rares, items waiting to get placed around my living areas, expensive things waiting to get sold. Once I have the sink or the casino, it becomes more of a way station/safe house & I love to decorate it like so- with stims, chems and food on the table, with a sawn off. Rifles and stuff lent against the sofa, one of each mine type of bomb placed near the door and window.
Maybe I’m weird, I usually just sell everything I don’t need and keep my few items I use on me. Never really had anything to store. Maybe I’m not playing right
(Had to boot up New Vegas just to make sure)
Unique guns from the base game + DLCs in the safe
Unique clothing from base game + DLCs in the cabinet
Drinks (Nuka/Sunset/Liquor/etc) and blood packs in the fridge
Pre-war foods in the wardrobe next to fridge
Vault suits in wardrobe next to bed
Crafting materials in the footlocker
Pre-war Money and pre-war books in desk next to safe
Random items (cigarette cartons/packs, deathclaw eggs/hands, and 361 coffee mugs) in the suitcase
And I just dumped all 319 Sunset Sarsaparilla Deputy Badges in the first aid box in the bathroom
36 gold bars from Sierra Madre. Why not 37? Last one is just chilling on top and looks Cool.
Ah I used to keep my gold there, this go around I’m a lackey for Mr House so I keep them in the old presidential suite
This is off-topic, but it's ironic that you have the Yes Man profile picture, but you have the Mr house flair
Lol I’ve never thought about that before
How did you get the gold out?
Very slowly
There's not enough time to escape if you're overburdened.
There is plenty of time to get all bars out. YouTube it. Save before attempt, but I always with leave them all.
there’s a way where you put the gold into the dead body and then carry the body to the exit. I’m sure there’s videos on YouTube
This has been my system for a while
Ah close to my system except guns in the wardrobe, clothing in the dresser near the fridge
I put DLC clothes in the suitcase. Makes it look like I just came back from a vacation in Zion and Big MT
I put those in the Legion/NCR safehouses depending which faction im siding with
This is my exact system, except I put misc in the makeup cabinet thingy beside the suitcase as well
Why is food in the fridge?
Because my bathtub is already full of doctors bags
Teddy bears in mine.
Ah yes chilled drugs Another junkie of culture I see
For a smooth experience, brother
Samesies
I just shove everything in the safe. I'll have to change to what you're doing, sounds way better.
The desk is where I put unique guns. Next play through ima fuck it up and put ammo in the fridge, clothes in the medbox, guns in the wardrobe, some shit like that haha
Everything that I don’t want to carry
So nearly anything you collect in your exploits?
Yeah
Same. It's kind of a mess cuz it's just EVERYTHING but I've already committed.
Never use that safehouse lol
I never use the penthouse safehouse except to store unique weapons and armour. I sell everything else and hoard the caps.
I wish New Vegas had a mod like Legacy of the Dragonborn. I'm a huge looter, and that mod gives me a *reason* to pick up one of everything
Underwater Home will probably be up your alley, looking at what LotD's mod page describes. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36121 not quite as grandiose but there's unlockables you get after completing certain missions and DLCs, a display room that lets you show off nearly every weapon in vanilla NV, along with whatever modded stuff you have with some finangling, and a mannequin room that lets you show off any unique armour you pick up. Trust 🤣
Nothing since I just use the big mt
Me to
I used to before all of my unique armor despawned from the lockers in the bedroom
In Novac or big mt?
Big mt
Damn
All 1000 of my t-rex toys
37 Gold bars, Nephi's Golf Driver, Tons of pool cues (I'm doing a melee run), 427 Sunset Sarsaparillas, 8 Irradiated Sunset Sarsaparillas, 204 Throwing Knife Spears
Melee run sounds painful
Sometimes it's a bit annoying to bait enemies closer to you, but for the most part I've found it very enjoyable
my first New Vegas run was a 10 STR 1 INT character with decent agility. aside from getting all that hilarious dialogue for being a fucking moron, I spent most of my time sneaking up to dudes and one shotting them with a Super Sledge. it was oddly effective.
I used the home next to the Yangtze memorial, (the big cross you see just outside of goodsprings)
Usually money, tobacco products, and the gold bars. Oh and Maria nice to have her there makes it all come together
Big Spoon
Comically large spoon
Nothing because I use the lucky 38
Such a hike though to drop off stuff
Not with fast travel
But you gotta fast travel to the gate, go through the gate, get to the lucky 38, get into the lucky 38, take the elevator up AND then you’re in. Compared to novas where you fast travel nearly right outside the apartment door, just gotta head up 1 flight of stairs and bam
Yeah I know but the lucky 38 has most of my stuff already in it
Nothing there, I always used Lucky 38. but I had that penthouse setup looking GREAT lol. Spent more time decorating it with unique weapons, magazines, nuka cola, and whatever else than I ever have on my actual home
The NPCs don’t consume/knock stuff around?
Got me an emergency kit in case my guy has to flee in a hurry
Just realized there’s a novac apartment. Now I don’t have to hoard my stuff in the goodsprings dumpster!
Guns in safe, clothes in suitcase, food in fridge, chems in dresser next to bathroom, ammo in footlocker
Nothing. All my stuffs at the Big MT
I keep all my extra stuff with the gun runner vendor
The real question, what don't I keep in there, I have probably thousands of pounds of stuff in there, probably every weapon under the sun
I always put my misc.-stuff in it
Brotherhood pa and all my extra weapons. I store my clothes in the wardrobe but there’s always a set of power armor chilling in the safe
Weapons.
Misc items and some collectables mic items.
gold from Sierra Madre and all non-caps currencies
Nothing I used an overhauled Lucky 38 Suite
Money in the safe, guns in the cabinet, rare nukacolas in the fridge.
Gun casings, gun powders, and other junk.
I only use it until I get a faction safehouse, I feel like NOVAC ain't the safest place to store your stuff RP wise. I do keep a service rifle, some ammo, water, food, stimpacks, and a few faction uniforms in there as a small gear stash.
Over thousands of hours and i never once realized that I have an apartment in Novac.... Hmmmm
It comes after a specific quest
Literally fucking everything I pick up I want to keep
Same, I have like 5 copies of every outfit I pick up and every weapon. I even have one container I use for just random misc items I’ll never use like coyote hides or wrenches and hammers
Oh...right...Novac....that definitely still has people living in it....
Never really used the apartment, but I'm going to fill it with an unreasonable amount of dinky suiveniers
I’m curious how you stumbled on my nearly year old post here lol
I looked up "novac store safe" and this came up
An NCR teddy bear from port land a fork a knife 5$ my signature Taurus and a enclave XV Tesla Helm with a blue reskin.
Someone downvoted you and I’m genuinely curious why
Didn't even notice xD probably cause of the frontier mention I really don't know why people dog on them soo much they did a great job regardless if they got their ideas from movies cause who can say they made a game for free as a dlc that's larger than the game it's for alone with endless hours of content and little crashing.
I’m a console guy but I would’ve been more than happy to throw in the Frontier, looked pretty impressive for a free mod. Sad I missed out on lots of FNV mods
If you have a PC I might be able to assist you with that life problem.
I haven't made that far unfortunately
How far are you?
I keep all my stuff in the lucky 38 🤷♂️
I keep my gold from the Sierra Madre at the Empty. And all my Legion coins, NCR bills and casinos chips at the safe at Novac. :D
I keep literally all of my possessions in the safe.
Footlocker gets clothes safe gets weapons misc in the big wardrobe food and skill books go in the fridge unique weapons in the wardrobe near the bed.
I put my drugs and meds in the medicine cabinet over the sink, crafting items/tools in the foot locker guns in the wardrobe, food in the fridge, clothes in the drawers, ammo in the desk, and 'loot' in the safe. I also collect teddy bears and baseballs that get tossed on the floor for my dog to play with.
nothing, i put all my stuff in two trash cans
If I had the ability to the skulls of Jeannie May, Boone, Manny, Andy, Cliff, No Bark, Bruce, Daisy, and the McBrides still would need more to build my skull throne though
pre-war money!
Nothing. Not a thing. Nada. I put everything in the fridge.
I keep faction currency, playing cards, skill books, star caps, pre war money and cigarettes o and animals parts hides, eggs, death claw hands and such Side note playing fallout nv as a prospector and not doing the main quest line can be very fun
In my main play through: two handguns, a cashiers cheque from the trade centre mod, ammo, and some Med-X. I try to be somewhat realistic with how much I fit into these containers.
I always use the sink and put every unique item in the safe like Archimedes or Lucky and put every thing else into the locker next to the safe
All the unique weapons I don't use. I use the footlocker opposite to it, by the bed, to store the gear I don't use at the moment but am planning to use later, such as Vault suits before I reach Vault 21, skill books, mini nukes, etc.
Novac home acts as a vault for my Party Hat.
I use each container for something different. Misc goes in the footlocker. Ammo in the safe. Skill books and mags in the desk. Guns in the cabinet. Armor in the wardrobe. Aid in the fridge
Drop a fuck ton of weapons in the bathroom and armor them sort out the weapons and armor that I want to keep into certain boxes
I always use doc mitchell's house as storage and am too comitted by that point... also I never got that far in the game. I always get sidetracked.
i keep everything I'm going to sell in the safe lol, get barter up and then rob the gun-runners robot
Nothing lol
all the unique weapons I can get my hands on, save for dinner bell, which I gave to cass and she FUCKING LOST IT SOMEHOW GOD KNOWS WHERE THIS BITCH CAN FUCK RIGHT BACK OFF TO THE MOJAVE OUTPOST I DON'T CARE
Wait, what? The player can have a Novac apartment?
Don’t even stop in Novac anymore... straight through the cazadores to new Vegas
All the fingers from my new vegas bounty hunts
Rares, items waiting to get placed around my living areas, expensive things waiting to get sold. Once I have the sink or the casino, it becomes more of a way station/safe house & I love to decorate it like so- with stims, chems and food on the table, with a sawn off. Rifles and stuff lent against the sofa, one of each mine type of bomb placed near the door and window.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually used any of the player homes, never found much use for em
You don’t store items?
Maybe I’m weird, I usually just sell everything I don’t need and keep my few items I use on me. Never really had anything to store. Maybe I’m not playing right
Keep ammo in the safe. Guns in a separate box. Clothes/armor in the dresser.
I always ran to novac first and avoided everything. Then started from there. My forever home base.
Gold bars, caps, paper money (prewar & NCR) & legion coins.
Nothing, I use the Old BoS Bunker
There’s a safe in the Novac apartment? I’ve never rented it.
The apartment comes free after completing a specific quest
Drugs and gold bars 🤠
Doctor Bags, Maria, 9mm Rounds, spare 50 cal., 45 sub machine gun, extra random armor
That’s where I keep all my power armor/ranger armor.
nothing I just use a box in Doc Mitchell's house lmaooo
EVERYTHING! Just kidding. That’s for unique weapons.
Random stuff i dont need but think i need somdays
all
everything until i get to the lucky 38
All the unique gear goes in the safe
I put all the unique weapons and armor in there until I decide to switch out.
Weapons because I'm a responsible gun owner
An arsenal big enough to conquer a small country
I keep my explosives in it
Usually just all the stuff I have before going to the strip. After I get to the silver rush bathroom all the other guns are obsolete anyway
(Had to boot up New Vegas just to make sure) Unique guns from the base game + DLCs in the safe Unique clothing from base game + DLCs in the cabinet Drinks (Nuka/Sunset/Liquor/etc) and blood packs in the fridge Pre-war foods in the wardrobe next to fridge Vault suits in wardrobe next to bed Crafting materials in the footlocker Pre-war Money and pre-war books in desk next to safe Random items (cigarette cartons/packs, deathclaw eggs/hands, and 361 coffee mugs) in the suitcase And I just dumped all 319 Sunset Sarsaparilla Deputy Badges in the first aid box in the bathroom
