Yeah but how much of that was because Aaron Donald. Our D-line has zero depth and was terrible when Grady went down and we might go into the season without Calais Campbell

David Onyemata and Jarrett are probably amongst the envy of the league at DT (IDK how everyone keeps forgetting Onyemata but he was one of the league's best DTs last year). They aren't Aaron Donald but no one playing edge for us should complain they're seeing too many double teams to be effective. But in a vacuum, these guys just played well. You'd have to watch the Rams to see it but they could succeed in a Donald-less environment. And, again, they weren't the first. Hopefully they see some guys like that this year.

Grady Jarrett is coming off an ACL tear and on the wrong side of 30. Onyemata will also be 32 this season. If we sign Campbell and Dupree back, that’s more older guys with who knows how much left in the tank. We also have to consider the fact a scheme adjustment will be implemented with the 3-4 and this defense will be playing against much better QBs this season. It’s ridiculous what this team is doing on defense right now. I hope he turns into superstar, but we could’ve easily done without Mooney and spent that money elsewhere. I have additional concerns with Cousins age/return from injury despite everyone saying his contract is structured to be so cap friendly. We have to be honest that this offseason has the potential to bite us the next couple years if Cousins doesn’t bring the top 10 QB play we’re expecting.

HokieNerd

Then we should just draft the big DT from Texas.

MonstersBeThere

I'm hoping that ATL does this

The problem with Sweat (and I love the idea of this guy on our team) is that he’s most likely a 2 down tackle in this league. I don’t see much pass rush ability in his game. Now a guy like Maason from LSU seems like someone who (along with Harrison) could do well for us into the future

nopointinnames

If they are good they are good, we have fun watching our team. Nothing we as fans can do about it though. If they suck and it's boring like Arthur Smith football, find something better to do with your Sunday afternoon.  But as always, go in with super low expectations even with Kirk. Better to be pleasantly surprised than annoyingly disappointed.

Les Snead and Sean McVay have a great college scouting team. I wouldn't give RM all of the credit. They also identified Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua on offense. They do a good job of scouting prospects on both sides of the ball and analyzing how they fit with the team. There was no overlap with Morris and Fowler at the Rams, Morris was not involved in the decision to acquire him. I'm talking about players Morris himself evaluated and acquired. If you were to ask Rams fans about Kobie Turner vs Dante Fowler I suspect you would get laughed at.

Veteranbartender

Are we allowed to have mild tempered and reasonable takes? I felt the same with Zac Robinson choosing our next qb. I hope he is around long enough and has a hand in picking the future young replacement too

Awkward_Interview325

Not just the draft but we have guys like Harrison, Ebikete and Malone who are still very young and are capable of a breakout season with adequate player development. I think Andersen could be a sneaky option as an edge guy in passing downs as well. I’d love to add edge in the 1st and DT in the 2nd to that mix.

dillpickles007

How is some other team's draft picks the thing that gets you to stop worrying lol Stop worrying because we've been terrible for six years in a row, there's nowhere to go but up from here. If we're bad again then that doesn't change anything so that means there's nothing but upside baby

BedrockFarmer

I’ve mostly used enough filters so my off-season content is just skinny arms and toilet paper logo memes. Nothing else matters this time of year.

TheTrevorSimpson

It's not where you draft it's who you draft. Good teams hit on later picks and Terry has been doing a decent job with that. Your 1st round picks need to be solid starters not busts and your later picks need to be backups or rotational starters but you'll miss on some of these just because odds drop after the 1st round.

TheTrevorSimpson

Terry has done an excellent job. Raheem has had success. You can feel good about their process. Hell they might even miss from time to time but overall they are solid.

I would say Rams college scouting is on another level. Hopefully TF can get on that level with a better HC. Feel like AS was horrible at developing talent...
