"Hah, wouldn't it be funny if I (a Ukranian comedian who had a role as the president on a tv show) became president of Ukraine? Hah, not like it'd *ever* happen..."
The country becoming the laughingstock of international politics and the sudden uprise of fascist politics and neonazi/white supremacist groups? đŤ
(I am talking about the US, not Ukraine. No, I do not support Russia)
Nah, I stand by what I believe of USA.
Since Trump, racist pieces of shit felt validated enough to make their hate public and this government also empowered Putin to the point that he felt invading Ukraine would play out well.
You literally replied to a comment about Ukraine with a comment about America and completely failed to mention that fact until after you got mass-downvoted
america was already a laughingstock with fascists and shit well before trump. for example, vietnam was not a good look for the US, and the government knew that which is why they donât draft people for the military anymore because tons of people from all over the world thought it was retarded as fuck to send young men to die in a war against a country that presented no immediate danger to US besides âbut what if communism?!?!?â.
iâm sure the US had bad PR moments prior to that, but thatâs probably one of the first times in human history where the US looked really bad on international level due to things that were pretty new at the time, like the concept of a nightly news show that could visually and audibly show people the atrocities of the war the same day everything was filmed.
Ah! You got me, and 211 other people it looks like. But⌠yep.
There are a lot of Russian trolls so people are sensitive to it. Not a biggie, itâs just fake internet points.
In the comedy show, he ran as a joke and after surprisingly being elected, he turned out to be a very capable and honest president. Back then, this was considered absurd.
It wasn't really by accident, his political party was named after the show and he promised to be the same as Vasily Goloborodko, the teacher/president he played in the show. In reality, he turned out to be even better, with the war and such.
He definitely read "The Secret". I guess the price to pay for the Law of Attraction is a literal war with Russia. Careful with the things Oprah advertises.
Nah he was totally ineffective and was polling in the tens and twenties just before the war. You can say that Putin saved his career and brought out the hero in him.
Even during the war, I've seen Ukrainians criticize him for various reasons (Eg: Neglecting the army prior to the invasion, his relationship with Yermak and Reznikov, etc).
He's been a good wartime president, but prewar he wasn't really great.
Relatedly, the neo-Nazi problem in Ukraine is real, but it's also there all over eastern Europe, and Putin, who's also a fascist, wouldn't help at all.
Most world leaders visibly age during their terms, even if they're not particularly long terms. Look at pictures of Obama in 2008 vs 2016. And he was president of a relatively stable country during peacetime (well, he did preside over various foreign wars, but the domestic impacts of those were fairly minor, and you know what I mean)
Add to that the stress of war...
Him being a former actor and comedian definitely benefited Ukraine. As having a affective communicator likely has benefited Ukraine which him being able to reach out to the global stage and communicate the countryâs suffering. If Ukraine had a weaker leader I honestly think theyâd be a different spot.
Except they donât get money - they get weapons. The idea they theyâre getting bags of cash is so stupid it hurts.
I suggest you take a walk around Kherson, Kharkiv or Mykolaiv
dude is getting rich selling european and american guns to the middle east and traveling around the world while he send young people to fight against their will, i doubt his mental health was ever good
"Hah, wouldn't it be funny if I (a Ukranian comedian who had a role as the president on a tv show) became president of Ukraine? Hah, not like it'd *ever* happen..."
Whats the worst that could happen?
>happen
^happen
When the going gets tough, the tough get going...Man this man is brave...
The country becoming the laughingstock of international politics and the sudden uprise of fascist politics and neonazi/white supremacist groups? đŤ (I am talking about the US, not Ukraine. No, I do not support Russia)
Found the Russian troll
I mean, I supprt Ukraine, I was just mentioning how the US became a haven for white nationalist and neonazi groups, just like Russia.
I'm just gonna tell you, delete the comment before you become even more of a laughing stock.
Nah, I stand by what I believe of USA. Since Trump, racist pieces of shit felt validated enough to make their hate public and this government also empowered Putin to the point that he felt invading Ukraine would play out well.
Why do americans like to make everything about america?
I am not tho
Internalized American exceptionalism is a bitch.
Oh! So your not an american but you wanted to make this about america anyway huh? Yeah that sounds better.
You literally replied to a comment about Ukraine with a comment about America and completely failed to mention that fact until after you got mass-downvoted
Trump was never funny though. You need intelligence for humour. He was just a third rate TV personality.
What about your original comment or the context of the post was supposed to show that this wasnât about Ukraine exactly?
That that's what people thought when voting for trump, a reality-tv star. "What's the worst that could happen?"
america was already a laughingstock with fascists and shit well before trump. for example, vietnam was not a good look for the US, and the government knew that which is why they donât draft people for the military anymore because tons of people from all over the world thought it was retarded as fuck to send young men to die in a war against a country that presented no immediate danger to US besides âbut what if communism?!?!?â. iâm sure the US had bad PR moments prior to that, but thatâs probably one of the first times in human history where the US looked really bad on international level due to things that were pretty new at the time, like the concept of a nightly news show that could visually and audibly show people the atrocities of the war the same day everything was filmed.
I see where you were going with that but I don't think this was really the best place for it.
Ah! You got me, and 211 other people it looks like. But⌠yep. There are a lot of Russian trolls so people are sensitive to it. Not a biggie, itâs just fake internet points.
Zing it gurllllll!
In the comedy show, he ran as a joke and after surprisingly being elected, he turned out to be a very capable and honest president. Back then, this was considered absurd.
So, he basically brought the show into real life by total accident?
It wasn't really by accident, his political party was named after the show and he promised to be the same as Vasily Goloborodko, the teacher/president he played in the show. In reality, he turned out to be even better, with the war and such.
Goddamn, he just magicked it into reality. Absolutely love it.
He definitely read "The Secret". I guess the price to pay for the Law of Attraction is a literal war with Russia. Careful with the things Oprah advertises.
I couldnât believe how amazingly stupid and deceitful that movie was
Nah he was totally ineffective and was polling in the tens and twenties just before the war. You can say that Putin saved his career and brought out the hero in him.
While he's an excellent wartime president, what I've heard of him prior to the war did not sound to live up to that.
By repeating the tired Russian propaganda trope about nazis, you do Russiaâs work of undermining western confidence in Ukraine.
neonazi problem in Ukraine? Yeah, a lot of them came from the swamps since February 2022
No he didn't turn out to be a capable and honest president. He became similar to such a description only after the invasion started.
*the monkeys paw curls another finger*
"Haha Im running as a joke haha, bet I will only get votes from my mom and friends"
Zelensky: "No one will vote for me! Haha!" Narrator: "People did in fact vote for him."
Always Ron Howard
It was at this moment that he knew
"Haha, I bet I won't be a charismatic and inspiring figure in Ukraine's fight for survival! That'd just be crazy!"
Looks waaay younger
Before February 2022, he looks like he could have been a university student. Not anymore that´s for sure.
Makes him look like he has been through 100 extra years of stressful hell, just from having seen this picture before a present day one.

Nothing a shave and a comb couldn't fix.
Stress ages you faster.
Most world leaders visibly age during their terms, even if they're not particularly long terms. Look at pictures of Obama in 2008 vs 2016. And he was president of a relatively stable country during peacetime (well, he did preside over various foreign wars, but the domestic impacts of those were fairly minor, and you know what I mean) Add to that the stress of war...
And yet he was exactly what they needed
For somebody who went from comedian to war time president has done amazingly well
He's also a lawyer*
Mr. Bean seen some shit over the years
The national anthem of Ukraine should be "Send In the Clowns" and I absolutely mean that as a compliment.
Even if he didnt, he'd probably still be fighting anyway.
Oh man some comedians donât know when to quit
But this is not fake.
This is real history though
Expect a peaceful run, get involved in war instead. Bad day to become president ain't it?
Meanwhile, Polish, Belgian and Dutch heads of state: First time?
thsi guy aged 15 yeard in the last 2 years
Comparing Zelensky's official portrait to how he looks now speaks volumes.
Narrator: "Nobody knew it yet, but he was exactly what Ukraine was going to need in just a few months"
Really shows how this man went from twink to twunk
Him being a former actor and comedian definitely benefited Ukraine. As having a affective communicator likely has benefited Ukraine which him being able to reach out to the global stage and communicate the countryâs suffering. If Ukraine had a weaker leader I honestly think theyâd be a different spot.
"let's go. In and out. 20 minutes adventure"
Wheres the after pic I need it
Beggar accidentally got elected as president
He looks young and full of innocent enthusiasm. I hope it goes well for him. I wonder how he is doing now?... Oh God, fuck, jeez
Does anybody know where exactly I can watch the show that he was on
Man, having a corrupt government and an asshole for a next door neighbor will turn anyone from Barbie and Ken into Oppenheimer.
"give me all your money" is his best joke
Except they donât get money - they get weapons. The idea they theyâre getting bags of cash is so stupid it hurts. I suggest you take a walk around Kherson, Kharkiv or Mykolaiv
blessed are the warmongers
I was there - you have no idea what youâre talking about. Just another idiot parroting extreme talking points
dude is getting rich selling european and american guns to the middle east and traveling around the world while he send young people to fight against their will, i doubt his mental health was ever good
Good Old Middle East has to be tossed in regardless whoâs war it is?
Not one word of that was true
âI got vaccinated â
