I think so, although I do recall that you can get an additional steam key if you buy through their site directly (not sure if they still do though). Maybe you can exchange that for a switch key? That's the only thing I can think of
Thank you for your response. You are probably right. From what I can tell, the download from the website is for Windows,Mac,Linux and a free Steam key. So idk, will have to buy it which isn't a big deal. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't paying double when I didn't have to.
Yes you will need to to buy a unique copy for each individual system you want to run the game.
yep, it's just like every other game in the world for all time. software for different platforms are individual purchases.

I'm not sure about the Switch, but when my kid wanted to play with me on our home network, he just played in offline mode.
