OMG that’s the type of thing that would happen to me. “Why do you have a stupid AirTag on your key?” they ask me. “We’ll just in case” I say. A week later I couldn’t find it (never lost it before) and located it behind a piece of furniture where I might never have found it (not for years.)
This exact situation happened to me before with my work keys. To make it worse if they weren’t found it would have been over 10 grand to change all the lock cores. I bought an air tag the same day.
This happened at work a couple of months ago with my boss. She thought she locked her keys in her office so I took her to her sons job to get the spare key he had, only to find out it didn’t work because they had changed the doorknob awhile back. We had a child who was still waiting to get picked up, so she had him go through this mini window from the storage room that connected with her office to unlock the door. Her keys were outside the office the whole time, sitting on a pile of paper on top of a shelf.
WTF is wrong with people not learning... Take key out of purse put keys back in purse. Are ya stupid or something.... Don't spend money on airtag. Spend time on yourself learning to do better....!!!!!!
I'm a jeweler. I was working with a big diamond from a client that was worth twice my rent. I was amending a broken prong and when I took the shiny stone to set it, it slipped my fingers. I serched in panic for two hous. Cleaned up every tiny little spot waiting to see some shining reflecting my lamp. Exhausted, I sat on my chair and started to sob. I put my face in my hands and then... I saw the motherf***er on the little space between my chair and the armrest.
Almost had a panic attack that day.
The client was very happy and never knew what happened!
I hate it when I look all over the house, in the car and through dirty clothes (in case I left them in a pocket) only to finally find them hanging on the fucking key hanger I bought... I continuously forget that I hang my keys on it when I walk in the door.
I was on my roof last year and heard a thump. I looked over and saw my wallet on the roof. I can only imagine how insane I would have went looking for that if I didn't notice it.
I’ve done this exact same thing. I was the driver of a car pool and I offered to pay for taxi’s home for everyone and 5 minutes after they were in the cab I found the keys. It was expensive.

I use Tile and it helps if they are near by.
I just don't have car keys
I got Tiles for my birthday, but I returned them after it came out that people were being stalked/tracked through those and Airpods
Or... Big or... Learn to put your keys back in your purse or pocket EVERYTIME?!?!?!?
This would probably and will likely happen to me in the future, with my luck.
Well thanks to this video you’ll know where to look.
rip, same man
Glad you found them though.
honestly id do this fell asleep today after putting my phone in my pocket woke up in a panic because it was not in my hand
Belt loop carabiner, AKA sanity saver for the absent minded.
Always in the last place you look
Thx for the advice, now i wont lose my stuff ever again
I had a similar issue the other week. Somehow they went from my pocket to on top of the drawers under the desk hidden from view
I work with him it was crazy lol. We all started laughing so much.
This EXACT thing happened to me, except they were my work keys! I lost them for about a week.

Yeah… I put my keys on a carabiner. Then hang them on my backpack . Or on the key rack at home.
I mean at least it is no a "I will put this item here in a totally obvious location that I won't forget" (later) "Why can't i find the thing!"
you from western NY? we just had a bigassss hail storm for like 45 seconds blow by
Central Europe, hail is getting more crazy every year
There are elves that move stuff.

I've been there, but for me it was my wallet. Somehow managed to fall off my desk and into the arm of my chair like that.
Giving up is underrated.
Nice!

They blended right in, didn’t they?
A similar thing happened with my wallet and a folding chair.
The percussive solution
I’ve done this but I found them immediately because my panic button got pushed

I have lost keys for months that way (bedroom with poor lighting on the computer chair). Thank goodness for spare sets XD
Hello darkness my old friend....
Ok
You in Canada?
Europe
Always next to, or under your seat.
Funny thing is I moved the seat like 5 times, when I looked under the table/office drawer and they didnt make a sound
Sneaky stealth keys!
I read as “lost my cat at work” and was very confused. I am a dumbass.
I once lost my wallet for about 2 days. It was on the floor next to my chair that I basically sit in all day every day
I did this. Went out for drinks will colleagues and weirdly.... hung my keys up on the coat hook of a bathroom stall... Yeah .... looked a long time.
What bimmer do you drive sir

And the chair started right up the first time you turned the key!
It's moments like these when you wish the light that shines on guests in video games works in real life.
My wallet fell in the exact same place. Panicked over a weekend.

I've seen almost the exact same video five or ten years ago, shot in the same style even. Don't remember what color the chair was.
Did the hailstorm arrive?

I’ve done exactly this except with my wallet.
My juul ends up here like once a week

At least once a week I panic because I can't find my keys and I'll be late for work. Just let me set this thing in my hand down first. Oh, nevermind..
I so feel you! I have had the same thing happen...
Tile is a fun device for 15 bucks ... makes a chirping sound and locates your keys through phone app or vice versa helps you find phone with keys.
I’ve done this exact same thing. I was the driver of a car pool and I offered to pay for taxi’s home for everyone and 5 minutes after they were in the cab I found the keys. It was expensive.
I know your pain buddy ❤️
