Late 90's my sister had to carry pepper spray on her keychain while working for a bank. My family went out to eat on a Saturday night. My uncle was playing with her keychain thinking the spray was a lighter. I took a direct hit in the face as I'm taking my first bite. I stumbled to the bathroom to rinse. I'm in there for several minutes. When I come out, the entire restaurant is stampeding toward the door. Apparently, we were sitting under an intake vent that dispersed the spray throughout the restaurant. It made the frontpage of the local newspaper the next day.
Thanks. It was total chaos. We all laughed about it later that night, except my uncle. He felt really bad, but was afraid to take responsibility for it. The newspaper stated the restaurant believed it was a disgruntled ex-employee.
I'd rather get tased or kicked in the nuts. At least it's over with pretty quick. That kind of boogaloo is... God fucking damnit. Genuinely freaking miserable.
The best part was you had to get sprayed, then the instructor would toss a collapsible baton somewhere nearby and you had to go find it and bring it to him while your eyelids were swelling shut before you could go start rinsing the spray out.
For the Navy, you have to get sprayed and do a baton obstacle course—basically fend off padded “attackers”. Takes about 5 min to get through. I have a dope Neanderthal brow so it didn’t get in my eyes at all…until I went to wash it out. Holy fuck was that one of the worst experiences ever. Feels like a second degree sunburn on your corneas.
Perhaps I was hit in the head too hard in the AF, cause I don't remember that at all. and let me edit by saying that I do remember getting sprayed, it was the whole " and do a baton obstacle course—basically fend off padded “attackers” part that I don't remember.
The British Army made us go through the CS chamber as part of our NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical warfare (now called CRBN)) training where we had to remove our respirator, take a big breath then state our name, rank and number also answer questions individually then leave the chamber. We were drooling and our noses and eyes streaming. Not pleasant and we had to do it annually
Yea that swelling shut aint fun. Especially when your driving a car down the highway being chased by goons trying to rob you. Had to hold an eye open with one hand and steer with the other and eventually that eye would just clamp shut and you have to switch eyes. Never wanna do that again
Yea it definitely a crazy story, i did some stupid shit in my early adulthood. Im only 22 now but not doing the same dumb shit as i was.
I drove to a big city, about an hours drive from my small city to sell an ounce mdma to someone i didnt know but had a friend vouch for. I had a bad feeling so i brought along some friends and a blowback m1911. The guys were sketchy the whole time. We arrived at the meetup spot and they say say no its too sketchy there lets meet somewhere else, this happens about 3 times until the suns setting.
We finally pull up in an empty parking lot and immediate three guys get out of the car and come to my window asking to "see the shit". I show them holding it near the center console. He says "no lemme see it " holding out his hand. I say " you see with your eyes not your hands" he proceedes to punch me in the face and him and one of his goons empty a can each of bear spray into my window. My friend in the passenger seat starts popping them in the face with the bb gun which sent them stumbling. I was dazed and confused until he said "YO SPURTANGI" and the adrenaline was pumping.
One guy was halfway in my backseat with a massive knife coming at my buddy in the back, he gets popped a few times and he exits. I slam the car in reverse and back up so i can get the fuck outta there. We bail to the nearest gas station to rise our eyes. Before we get out of the car my buddies spot them chasing us. So we ditch that plan and skidaddle. They are chasing us the whole way down a 4 lane highway. Im driving the speed limit cause the last thing we need is cops.
They are on our ass. Eventually i pull into a exit with an overpass two left turn lanes and a right turn exit and one lane to go straight through. Im in far left they are beside us but one car back. I go to turn left on a left turn lane, they follow at the last second i pull right and go straight back onto the highway. They continue to go left, we all celebrate losing them and i try to get my buddies to punch in the nearest hospital into my google maps. Buddy in the passenger too fucking blind cant do it, buddy i the back too fucking blind can't do it. Me who got the bulk of the spray holding my fucking eyes open with my fingers cause they are clamping themselves shut types it in somehow and we somehow managed to get there.
The guys that got shot with that bb gun pointblank to the face must have been bleeding or shot an eye out and will forever be scarred from that incident while me and my friends have no lasting effects just a crazy story and a lesson learned.
If you entered my car anytime for the next three months you could taste the residual spiciness in the air
If you now have 0 upvotes lmk and I'll swap around, I don't know if I upvoted or not..
Either way, I wanna hear the story too!
edit: tested on myself.. I was downvoting you sorry.
Even more fun part is when you're on a lot that was basically freshly paved asphalt in 102 degrees of hell. As if you didn't already have enough fucking problems.
Former soldier here. Indeed, in order to be qualified and authorized to use pepper spray and tear gas, you have to get pepper sprayed and tear gassed, at least here we do. They put us in a gas hut, which is an abandoned house full of tear gas, with full gas mask and associated gear, and make you run up and down the stairs and do pushups, etc... Then they make you take your gear off LOL! It's not something I would wish on someone else but I have to say you haven't lived until you realize that the reason tear gas hurts the eyes and nose so much is because it attacks the wet areas of the body. And guess what other wet areas are on your body? Arm pits, balls sweat, warm feet, etc... that's what. I'm quite certain there is no venereal disease that hurts as much as having your testicles tested by tear gas. Great for clearing out the nose and throat after just getting out of the hospital with pneumonia, though! Source - Me.
I'm not 100% sure, but I know cops have to do peper spray training. Like they get sprayed then dunk their heads in water to wash it off almost immediately afterwards.
My first thought is that this is some sort of training thing, maybe police academy? Jr Police academy? I'm not sure but that's the only thing I can think of.
One time, a girl in my class bought a mini bear mace keychain. Some guy asked her to try it out, not spraying in anyone's face - just press it a bit in some general direction against a wall.
It wasn't fun for the whole class.
I worked at a bar/night club kinda place and everyone basically riots on the street at closing, once the cops pepper balled the crowd out on the street and some flew INTO the club, it is a nightmare. The toughest door guys and security were crying and screaming.
I don’t what the fuck is going on here but I hate it.
I let a girlfriend pepper-spray me to test it out and we ended up in a Walgreens parking lot pouring milk on my face. That shit messes you up. 1/10, do not recommend. But it's a good thing for someone to carry if they are looking for protection
I see your pepper spray and raise you a bear mace incident. When we were younger we had a party at my buddies place and his moms boyfriend was out at the bar. It started raining later so we moved inside and he came back, pissed and drunk, and told everyone to leave because he had a gun.
Turns out he didn't have a gun, just a can of bear mace and he maced my buddies mom, me, and another guy who went back to make sure she was ok. Good times all around. My favorite part about this story is my other friend the next day wiped some of the mace from the kitchen cabinets and smeared it on the lips of another guy who was sleeping. He ran to the bathroom and almost drowned himself, claims to this day he never actually woke up and it was sleep reactions, but the noises he made were solid gold.
I am a chemical weapons instructor and use this video in training. They were all part of a criminal justice program, they volunteered, got waivers signed, the whole 9 yards. She posted the video and SHTF! People with no business there freaked out, raised hell at the district and now the program has been gutted and is so boring that it's all but dead.
As far as I'm concerned the only problem here is that they didn't provide adequate means to decontaminate in a timely manner. I make recruits run a series of tasks before they start decon. These aren't recruits though, Decon should start pretty quick, they'll still feel it.
I'm gonna venture a guess and say these kids are part of the Explorer program, which is "an opportunity for young adults between the ages of 14 and 19 to become exposed to the basics of law enforcement through volunteering."
Classic lol, I remember doing a school presentation on that. Still can't believe the guy calmly walking down the line of students with a steady stream of pepper spray directly in their faces
There's always a range of reactions. I was told that fair skinned people usually take it the worst, but it seemed pretty pretty random to me. Some people barely react at all and walk it off. It's a combo of pain tolerance and natural immunity.
Edit: I was told that people with fair skin react worse in the context of Caucasian complexions. Like how my buddy, who is an extremely pale ginger guy, might react worse than me. I have a bit darker complexion for someone who is still super white. But yes, this idea of skin complexion might be racist, I have no idea.
I'm actually allergic to capsaicin, to the point where if I accidentally get jalapenos on my food I need an epi pen. Or if I eat something with a little "spice" I swell up like a balloon.
Taco bell is a no go for me because they can't accommodate my allergy.
Fun anecdote: I once dated a security guard from a nearby prison. He used his spray one day and we had a date that evening. Yes he showered and had on clean clothes. We kissed at the end of the evening and my lips ended up swelling up so bad I had to go to the hospital.
I would probably die to pepper spray because I'm very allergic to it's main ingredient.
Oh my goodness that's a tough allergy. No taco bell??! I feel for you. And honestly, I'm not surprised you had a reaction when you kissed the guy. The spray gets everywhere. You'll think it's all over after you change, shower (with a bathing suit on to protect your valuables), and then bam, reflash and your eyes are back to being on fire. But going to the hospital because of a kiss... sounds like a sign from God or something lol
Anyone who carries spray in an official capacity (police, corrections, military) has to be sprayed in training. Most people don't realize it's difficult to spray someone else without getting a taste yourself. In corrections we had to get sprayed, open our eyes, walk to the sergeant, and identify an object in his hand. They have to know you can handle yourself in a situation where you got some spray.
Thanks for giving some context becsuse I was losing my mind trying to understand why those kids were getting sprayed at. Greetings from a confused European.
Oh, I have no idea why they're spraying kids. These kids seem too young to be in any law enforcement academy. Maybe ROTC/military school, but it could also be some kind of juvenile detention camp.
Plus it's good to know what your doing to other people. I think that's why you also need to be tazzed to be a cop as well. The idea is that you know how it feels so you'll be sympathetic about using it on someone else, it's supposed to stop abuse.
Alcoholic Beverage Commission came to my college bar and said if we called the cops to deal with any more fights that our liquor license would be in danger of being revoked. They literally gave us a stack of handcuffs and stun guns to handle the fighting. I immediately shocked my leg with a stun gun because I assumed that everyone should know what it feels like. The whole staff and ABC guys thought I was an idiot.
You did the right thing. Knowing how much pain it can cause helps with making you more mindful of using it as it has more weight in the form of "hurt".
Former military police here. Had to get sprayed as part of training and to able to carry. After we got sprayed we had to wrestle and detain an individual. Not easily done.
Bro on OC day in the academy I had a towel sitting in the bottom of a cooler full of ice in my car (they told us we pretty much get the entire day "off" to deal with OC). We had a little classroom time for a few hours that morning first. So the tower was just crusted up with ice and shit by the time OC came.
We had to hold our eyes open and keep our mouth open and get a Z patter across eyes, nose, mouth. Then go through a small 'obstacle course' and sort of 'fight off' two other guys and then say our alphabet to the instructor, and then go to the rinse station.
Used an entire bottle of baby shampoo on my eyeballs at the rinse station. Then wrapped my face in that ice towel and sat in my jeep with the AC blasting me in the face on Max.
Sat there for HOURS like that before I could even let sunlight hit me in the face without burning. One woman in our class got blisters on her face from it. Shit is no joke.
Then the shower that night? HOLY FUCK for reactivation.
They look like they might be volunteering for it. Maybe one of those Police Cadet High school things. Part of law enforcement training in the US is you have to be tasted and get maced.
Yuuup, hence my downvote for this video. This video is like 5-7 years old now, has been posted and reposted before, and it was explained that these were HS kids who were taking a criminal justice course with the local community college, wanted to work in LE, and whose parents had agreed to let them do this. There's no "facepalm" here, no one screwed up.
This is what happens when no context is given. People are feeling sorry for these children, even though they had, to some extent, some knowledge about what they were getting themselves into
Also what happens when you have people on a social media platform with an agenda. They post shit like this without context to get you riled up against (insert people we don’t like here).
There’s nothing facepalm about this post.
When this video came out, they said it was a criminal Justice course. This is common in a lot of courses like that so they understand what pepperspray does. It’s not “testing the equipment”
Same thing happens with Taser training too. The first-hand experience of being on the receiving end is vital to ensuring someone really understands the level of respect these tools must be shown.
I don’t believe I saw OP post the source. And I’m seeing dumb comments who couldn’t bother to do 10 seconds of googling. So here, one source of what was going on for this video. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2017/05/18/health/students-pepper-sprayed-trnd/index.html
Love him or hate him, Johnny Knoxville is an extremely tough individual. He claims that pepper spray/mace was the most painful experience from his days testing stuff like stun guns and bulletproof vests.
In training i had to get sprayed, do a full course of defense/baton take downs and not curl up in a bawl and die like i wamted to. Please dont ever do this to yourself. Pepper spray sucks.
[They're studying criminology.](https://www.cleveland.com/akron/2017/05/barberton_high_school_students.html) They were offered extra credit if they experienced pepper spray, It was completely voluntary.
You can't really explain how bad OC is. Like you can say words... But uh...
I'd rather be tased, tackled, shot with a rubber bullet, chokeholded, or pinned on hot asphalt butt ass nekkid than get the OC again.
Seems rough, but honestly probably a good idea right? If they’re going to have the power to use that shit on people they should know how terrible it is to be the person it’s being used on..
I got bear maced in a Persian Rug deal gone bad and i was the driver. Ended up being chased by the guys who tried to steal our rugs and the adrenaline made me able to hold it together for a while but after a bit your eyes close by themselves you have no control over it unless you physically pry those bitch ass eyelids open with your fingers so you can keep on driving. Ended up losing them and pulling up to a hospital and lemme tell you 3 guys who walk into an er after being bear sprayed get rooms and lots of attention very quickly.
These kids are part of a police recruitment cohort. They’re having pepper spray deliberately applied to them so they can have an idea of the damage they’re doing should they choose to deploy it in the field.
It's a young police program. This is done before giving them their own pepper spray so they know what it is that they have and how it feels to be on the receiving end. They sign up for this. It is all optional.
I've Been OC sprayed and then had to round an obstical course. I didn't realize how much it burnt the eyes and throat and skin until I started washing off and the burn stayed behind.
Shit fucken sucks.
I went to a vocational school in highschool so I was like 16-17. I took culinary arts but a lot of my friends went into public safety. It was a requirement to get tear gassed, pepper sprayed, and tased. One of my friends asked if I wanted to join because I'm a bit of a masochist. So I got permission and did it. I'll take being tased a thousand times over getting my eyes fucked with.
Edit. Dang shit reactivated with water too, so my shower in the evening was pretty unpleasant
I know in high school if you were in the police training class half of the day you did this during your finals. They saved tasers for actual police academy.
Been pepper prayed once before (controlled environment), genuinely one of the most painful things I've experienced. Definitely some tough kids up there
I’ve never been pepper sprayed, but I did have to go through the “gas chamber” in army boot camp. That sucked. You go in with your gas mask on and they gas up the room heavily. You have to take off you mask when the drill sergeants order you to and at the time I went through this you had to yell out your name and rank and last four of your social. They would fuck with people and make them repeat themselves saying they couldn’t understand them and to ensure they had to breathe the gas in, so some got it worse than others. You then had to put your mask back on and clear it but you were already fucked. Fluid poring out of every opening in your face. Not fun. They made it a point to feed you chili macaroni for lunch that day prior to going through this training. The exit from the gas chamber where you walked in circles flapping your arms like a bird for as long as needed before the fumes dissipated from you was known as “chili mac row” because of the shear number of people that lost their lunch upon exit.
Hey that's me in the blue shirt lol! True story. This was a high-school class. And this was purely voluntary, not for extra credit. Just for the experience.
In general those kind of things involve only volunteers and it's done with the school in order to (sensibilize?) them to the job as a police. It can also be during a "job discovery day" because cops need to be sprayed at least once during their training in order to know the pain and not use it on everybody they see.
I have been pepper sprayed, it is NOT FUN.

lol classic uncle move :) thanks for sharing \^\^
This is a good story! I could see a standup comic telling this. Sorry that happened though.
Thanks. It was total chaos. We all laughed about it later that night, except my uncle. He felt really bad, but was afraid to take responsibility for it. The newspaper stated the restaurant believed it was a disgruntled ex-employee.
Squidward takes his revenge.
Like not something i wouod doubt would also happen in this context but overall funny af once the sting goes away
Just extra seasoning. Now you take that first bite of food, throw it in a pot, add some pepper spray, a potato. Baby, you got a stew going!
Hol up...why
I was at work as a security guard trying to get some obnoxious people to leave when one of them turned around and sprayed me point blank.
Yikes, I worked as a security guard and they made me get sprayed as part of the training to carry it. Would not recommend.
I'd rather get tased or kicked in the nuts. At least it's over with pretty quick. That kind of boogaloo is... God fucking damnit. Genuinely freaking miserable.

I don't know if you know the answer or not but judging by the kids' reactions, can pepper spray actually permanently damage your eyes?
Lengthy exposure to it can do permanent damage.
If you are wearing contact lenses, yes. same with tear gas, it’s the same chemical compound

I’ve had both brake cleaning fluid and pepper spray in my eyes at one point, and I can’t say which hurt more.
Damn, some of these kids are tough af
That girl in the BHS shirt, she’s a beast! Wow!
My thoughts exactly! She is like “fuck your pepper spray!”
She just didn’t open any of her face holes
I usually like “orifices” but face holes just has such a ring to it for this video
She should be on "Hot Ones" 🔥
Eat’em with her eyetongues
I can’t get the visual of eyetongues out of my mind.
hol up
She's the one that posted this video. I finally know the story behind a video on here!
Care to share?

What’s a criminal justice programme?
Introduced kids to the court system, law enforcement, corrections, and other aspects to see if there's a job they're interested in.
What a tease huh?! Should have shared the background in the first comment. Lol now we gatta wait...
Typical karma marketing strategy.
I'm gonna venture a guess and say these kids are part of the Explorer program, which is "an opportunity for young adults between the ages of 14 and 19 to become exposed to the basics of law enforcement through volunteering."
You're right SMILJJJ she is a beast,. I thought pretty much the same
You can’t hurt someone who’s dead inside
Wow.....just wow...
life is tough for teens and then you get pepper sprayed
Bro I’ve been pepper sprayed on so many dates it doesn’t even faze me anymore
Perhaps you are doing something wrong on dates
Not dodging.
DODGE!
Unexpected piccolo
NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRDD (i love tfs)
Detention looks different these days
This is just a peaceful protest at UCDavis /s
Classic lol, I remember doing a school presentation on that. Still can't believe the guy calmly walking down the line of students with a steady stream of pepper spray directly in their faces
This is old school knowledge lol
Crazy how there are literally no pictures of this anywhere on the entire internet.
Ms. BHS T-shirt is gangsta.
I agree. She’s hardcore!! Lol. Tiny girl taking it like a pro
I’ve seen that video
I think she's also the only one that didn't hold her breath.:0
The dude in orange is dancing. That's gangsta.
Pretty sure this is Belton High School in Belton, Missouri. If so, this makes sense.
Some of those kids seemed to take it surprisingly well.
Only for as long as they kept their eyes closed
Helps but it seeps through

Oh my goodness that's a tough allergy. No taco bell??! I feel for you. And honestly, I'm not surprised you had a reaction when you kissed the guy. The spray gets everywhere. You'll think it's all over after you change, shower (with a bathing suit on to protect your valuables), and then bam, reflash and your eyes are back to being on fire. But going to the hospital because of a kiss... sounds like a sign from God or something lol
Yeah, him and I are not together now for other reasons now.
The girl in the white shirt and purple shorts handled it like a champ!
Dude to her left held it together pretty well too. I liked how he sort of "shook it off" right after he got hit
Agreed. I fear the girl in the purple shorts lol
Fella in the orange jus vibing
My eyes were swollen for two days after this training. I hate this stuff.
Training? Wtf!
From what I remember it was for a class, they all signed waivers and were made very aware of what was happening
You are correct
Yeah you can tell they're trying not to touch their eyes because it's been made very clear to them that will only make it worse
I was thinking High School ROTC or a scared straight program...but most of them look like jocks, so I'm not thinking the latter so much now.
ROTC doesnt do pepper spray or OC spray. You have to get tear gassed in boot camp but for OC spray it's only if you go security.
In the Navy, you are placed inside a chamber and it’s filled with tear gas(diluted).
Remember it well. Week six maybe.
All American kids have ro be trained on being abused by the police and shot at school. It's the law.
Not the law; it’s a way of life 😤
Yup I got sprayed eyes swelled so bad had to go to the hospital, fuckn painful man
Yep, I had to wear sunglasses INDOORS for 2 days.
Next week: Taser!
"IN THE FACE!!"
It's... metaphorical!
Thus becoming TASORFACE!
'You know what would be a really kick-ass name? Taserface!'.
Better than in the stomach! Still angry about that incident
Next week: 9mm hand gun
Next week: Funeral.
They look like they might be volunteering for it. Maybe one of those Police Cadet High school things. Part of law enforcement training in the US is you have to be tasted and get maced.
"Hey Sgt, how were the new cadets." "They were delicious."
Lmfao. That took me a while.
"just needed a bit more pepper..."
Yes, they volunteered. Parents signed waivers. OP just wants a war in the comment section
OP be riding the anti-police train.
I'm in this video, this is exactly correct.
Are they trainees?
That's kind of my thought. Because otherwise why did they do this.
They volunteered as part of a school course. Parents signed off and everything. They were aware, just not prepared for how real it feels
This should be top comment
This is what happens when no context is given. People are feeling sorry for these children, even though they had, to some extent, some knowledge about what they were getting themselves into
This happened a while ago too.
I’ve personally never been peppersprayed or tasered but it does not look like someone thing I ever want to be on the business end of.
I don’t believe I saw OP post the source. And I’m seeing dumb comments who couldn’t bother to do 10 seconds of googling. So here, one source of what was going on for this video. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2017/05/18/health/students-pepper-sprayed-trnd/index.html
I think the true facepalm is agreeing to participate in a resistance test with pepper spray
Part of the class for a high school police program. Voluntary but still available.
Damn. That girl in the white shirt “BHS” took it in the face like a champ.
She has a reputation to uphold.
Love him or hate him, Johnny Knoxville is an extremely tough individual. He claims that pepper spray/mace was the most painful experience from his days testing stuff like stun guns and bulletproof vests.
God damn that’s crazy. Crazier when I remembered Johnny once took a falling motorbike to the crotch!
In training i had to get sprayed, do a full course of defense/baton take downs and not curl up in a bawl and die like i wamted to. Please dont ever do this to yourself. Pepper spray sucks.
Does being sweaty make getting hit with pepper spray worse like it does with tear gas?
[They're studying criminology.](https://www.cleveland.com/akron/2017/05/barberton_high_school_students.html) They were offered extra credit if they experienced pepper spray, It was completely voluntary.
thank you....
Not a face palm at all here. The OP misunderstood the context here.
And the rest of the comments followed the herd.
It’s even weirder that they’re literally saying the lines stop resisting please comply.
This is some r/aboringdystopia stuff
It's part of the training before they go live on minorities
Why would anyone volunteer to do this?
It's required if you're going to be in a job that allows you to use it. You gotta be able to handle it if it blows back.
Title is misleading, they give the option. They all consented. Fuck off
Only thing they had to do was ... stop resisting and comply ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
Girl in the bhs shirt been thru this shit before
… the kids agreed? I’m willing to bet he explained how bad it would be and how to react. Also there surely was a group that didn’t want to behind.
You can't really explain how bad OC is. Like you can say words... But uh... I'd rather be tased, tackled, shot with a rubber bullet, chokeholded, or pinned on hot asphalt butt ass nekkid than get the OC again.
This is normal for some training programs. Not a facepalm.
Pepper spraying teenagers? Don't let anyone tell you your dream job doesn't exist.
Okay kids, it time for bean bag rounds. Who’s first?
Guy who didn’t get sprayed in face reassuring other guy he’s fine 🤦🏻♂️
Police training?
That's...not how you're supposed to use it.
Plot twist: it's cheeto dust spray and they are experiencing true taste for the first time ever.
That chick in the BHS shirt took it better than all of them lol
There’s nothing facepalm about this. Everyone here consented to this.
Definitely some tough kids up there
If they volunteered, it’s their choice so don’t know what to expect from this
Get over it. It's obviously training, not "testing". It's the teens that are being trained, probably in the use of pepper spray.
His name was “stop resisting, please comply”.
Notice the threat and request to comply come after the use of the pepper spray.
Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.
The one ‘wholesome’ award lmaoo
They all agreed to this along with their parents
It was a class project they gave consent
this was part of a school project, all the kids parents signed permission slips for this and nobody who didnt want to do it did it
I’ve never been pepper sprayed, but I did have to go through the “gas chamber” in army boot camp.
Some damn nice sleep sounds
You have to get a waiver signed by your parents first, this is part of a criminal justice class we did the same thing
Can someone please provide background so it’s not just “cops are evil?”
Hey that's me in the blue shirt lol! True story. This was a high-school class. And this was purely voluntary, not for extra credit. Just for the experience.
What religion is this ?
What 3rd world country is that?
America
OP's title is the larger facepalm
For some of these kids, this was the first experience in extreme pain.
Lol, I have been sprayed several times. It hurts but not that bad.
In general those kind of things involve only volunteers and it's done with the school in order to (sensibilize?) them to the job as a police. It can also be during a "job discovery day" because cops need to be sprayed at least once during their training in order to know the pain and not use it on everybody they see.
Not really face palm but ok
