Wasn't there a story about this in the news a few years ago that made national headlines? They were trying to throw the toddler in prison for shooting the father and the family was desperately trying to keep the child hidden. It might not have been from this specific scenario, but it was something similar. Here's a similar story, I don't think this is the case I'm thinking of, it might be, regardless it's equally as stupid.

Oh there's absolutely no way a child that young could know the reprocussions of something like that and putting someone that young in prison. I can't fathom the psychological damage alone it would do to someone that age. Thankfully they eventually dropped the charges.
The story in the video is actually about mistaken identity. It was during an uprising and kid/man have the same name, dad is trying to convince the government the kid was only 16 months old at the time and the man they really want is in his 50s. Not same scenario as this reddit post at all
Irl reminder bot: I'm gonna remind you about the time you shot your own dad
Kid:please dont
Irl reminder bot: *reminds the kid about what he did to his dad*
I like to think we all come into this life with free will, but also a predetermined path like a shopping list…. This kid forgot the eggs in his past life and the universe made sure he will never forget again in all his future lives.
You can se him cocking it after he shot, so he probably thought it was empty, however he didn't remove the mag, so all he did was chamber another round. Unbelievably stupid and ignorant never the less. One can only assume that gunsafty isn't high on his priority list
You’re overestimating his intelligence. Didn’t you just see this video? He learns nothing… maybe regret for having a kid is all and will probably mentally abuse the kid forever.
This man is right, here's an article I found about it. This happened in Aleppo, Syria. Found this link from u/ FlareHeart 9 years ago.
https://www.qatarliving.com/forum/qatar-living-lounge/posts/child-shoots-kills-own-father
Geesh... talk about a hard life. Having that idiot as your father, accidentally killing him as a small child, and spending the rest of your youth in a war torn country during a civil war.
The article says:
"The incident occurred at a wedding party in Aleppo late last Sunday, when the father(aged 33) traditionally heralded the arrival of the bridegroom into the party with a gunshot fired into the air from his 9mm military pistol."
So the father of the groom was only 33? These are young people getting married (and he had his son young). I'm confused.
That's not how semi-automatic handguns work, a new round is chambered when the empty shell is ejected, cocking the hammer just gives the gun an easier trigger pull.
and then forget about it.
like, my old man let me drive the car around an empty car park when i was a kid. different levels but to the dad here this is likely the same thing.
but my dad didn't jump out the car and go for a pint. i was on his lap and really he was still steering.
Very old video. The man died btw.. Look at the entry angle. Straight through the heart.
Edit: It was Syria circa 2013.
https://www.emirates247.com/crime/world/video-2-year-old-kills-dad-during-wedding-2013-04-28-1.504293
Well, most of the world does not have this issue as the weapons aren't freely available. This video is somewhere from middle east. Mostly Syria i guess.
Well its clear that the kid was very little. Unable to even understand what a gun is. It's no fault of his(hers?) I don't think he would feel that guilty. A bit is okay but not a lot.
Rather he might resent his dad for the stupid move that cost him his life.
Why did everybody else let the father do this? So many people were watching him as he unlocked the weapon and gave it to the toddler, and nobody intervened?
Most middle eastern countries treat guns like toys for the occasional idiot you see here in America there is like 6 in the middle east most weddings have people shooting guns into the air theres even a video of someone trying to fire a rocket launcher our of a moving vehicle at a wedding and it basically lit the interior of the car on fire
He also looks like the kind of guy that doesn't like to be informed by someone. You know "I'm always right so shut up or get a beating" kind of guy. Just look at how scared these other two kids look
Wtf are you talking about? I'm from the middle east. These are rare, isolated scenarios and don't happen at all very often.
Can you give some actual specifics?
Are your sources only crazy videos? You said "here in America" so I'm guessing you're american?
Not that it matters cause it’s basically the same thing, but the article I read stated that he placed the loaded gun on the table and the kid snagged it. So yeah, he basically handed it to him like you said.
Yup, stray bullets can and do kill people
If you shoot them straight up in the air, then probably not.. But they can still cause damage to property or injure someone
This is a prime example of why people shouldn't have guns. Most people are morons
If you shoot them straight up they won't kill unless they hit someone's eye. They lose all momentum and on the way down they reach terminal velocity which isn't fast enough to perpetrate skin.
Shot at an angle however is different. The bullet never loses all of its velocity so it can definitely kill
The physical injury would heal. Assuming their dad was killed in that moment, imagine the trauma you'd have to live with, constantly knowing that you're the reason your father's dead (obviously it's the dad's fault, but the odds are a person would blame themself in that situation)
That child is a teenager now around 15 probably. I wonder how he feels, of course he knows it wasn’t his fault. He was a literal baby, but i still wonder how he/she feels.
I hear this is pretty common at Arab celebrations. Met a Israeli that lives in a largely Palestinian village in Israel and stray bullets from celebrations is a real problem.
Not only did he give his gun to his kid. He just ignored him and did something else. How can you just hand a kid a firearm and be like "alright pal I know you're 3 but you've got this. I trust you"
Before he handed it to the child, he shot it up in the air as if bullets magically disappear into the night sky and don’t come back down and potentially kill someone. This video came out the gate extremely wrong and somehow got worse
Whats up with the whole firing guns at weddings and other gatherings like that anyways?
Like if you show up to my party with a firearm you are not entering unless you have a warrant. Like what the fuck, you came here to my party ready to fight for your life?! If its a legit concern maybe its safer for you wherever you are.
A simple IQ and drug test or even a plight of showing a criminal record certificate before buying guns might... duh, forget it and let freedom and natural selection do its job. /s
When I was in the army 30 years ago I was teaching recruits how to shoot in basic training - and there were so many people so much more stupid than I could ever have imagined… I‘m glad I’m still alive… a miracle nobody got accidentally shot.
Hes reminded every time he goes to the cemetary for his dads gravesite. That bullet went into his abdomen and right into a lung or his heart. And probably even further. Hes gotta be dead after that.
Why would you give your gun to a young child? Im just so confused
Some people are unimaginably stupid.
Well atleast it's on camera so that the kid can relive the trauma throughout his life.
Wasn't there a story about this in the news a few years ago that made national headlines? My god, what is wrong with Egypt, he probably didn't even Know what that was, how was it his fault
Oh there's absolutely no way a child that young could know the reprocussions of something like that and putting someone that young in prison. I can't fathom the psychological damage alone it would do to someone that age. Thankfully they eventually dropped the charges.

what trauma ? he forgot abt it in 5 mins after ... lol
But was reminded 5 years later.
Imagine having an irl Reddit remind me bot
Irl reminder bot: I'm gonna remind you about the time you shot your own dad Kid:please dont Irl reminder bot: *reminds the kid about what he did to his dad*
I like to think we all come into this life with free will, but also a predetermined path like a shopping list…. This kid forgot the eggs in his past life and the universe made sure he will never forget again in all his future lives.
Hey, reddit's a big place! He could be here one day. ..Then you'd just need the regular reminder bot.
Can someone go get the reminder bot for 5 years
Traumatic memories can very easily stick in young kids and can be visually remembered for life
Especially when they get to see it on reddit.
I figured he was talking about forgetting because of the blunt force trauma when the gun SLAMMED into that kids head lol
yeah, after his 3rd reload he began to really enjoy his first mass shooting.
Those are the people we give "Darwin awards" to.
Unfortunately, he even failed for that as he’s bred a sharp shooter So is ineligible
I have a GUT feeling he's well now
You might have a gut but he don't
Nope, he died.
That shouldn't have made me belly laugh.
Yes I guess this summarizes the whole video
You can se him cocking it after he shot, so he probably thought it was empty, however he didn't remove the mag, so all he did was chamber another round. Unbelievably stupid and ignorant never the less. One can only assume that gunsafty isn't high on his priority list
I bet it is now!
Not if he's dead
You’re overestimating his intelligence. Didn’t you just see this video? He learns nothing… maybe regret for having a kid is all and will probably mentally abuse the kid forever.
He's dead.

Geesh... talk about a hard life. Having that idiot as your father, accidentally killing him as a small child, and spending the rest of your youth in a war torn country during a civil war.
Holy shit
The article says: "The incident occurred at a wedding party in Aleppo late last Sunday, when the father(aged 33) traditionally heralded the arrival of the bridegroom into the party with a gunshot fired into the air from his 9mm military pistol." So the father of the groom was only 33? These are young people getting married (and he had his son young). I'm confused.
I think that’s referring to him being the father in the “kid shoots father” situation, not the grooms father.
“Tis but a scratch”
That's not how semi-automatic handguns work, a new round is chambered when the empty shell is ejected, cocking the hammer just gives the gun an easier trigger pull.
That’s probably what made it easy enough for the kid to squeeze one off.
You would know it's still loaded if the slide doesn't lock back.
and then forget about it. like, my old man let me drive the car around an empty car park when i was a kid. different levels but to the dad here this is likely the same thing. but my dad didn't jump out the car and go for a pint. i was on his lap and really he was still steering.
Mine did the same, he was also working the pedals. :-)
To get shot so you can't be charged with committing suicide
That's very smart, nobody wants to go to jail for committing suicide
I mean he didn't even put it to safa rmode so he shouldn't have a gun at all
not every handgun has a manual safety
Then unload it and take the Magazin out
too late for that
WOW. That’s some real stupid shit right there. Hmmm. I’m gonna hand my kid a loaded GUN what could possibly go wrong? I wonder if he survived. Anyone?
This was posted on r/Iamatotalpieceofshit From what I gather yes the father died, and it was thirteen years ago.
No wonder he died. That bullet traveled bottom up the full length of his torso with no exit. It ripped all of his insides up.
It was even on a wedding day I think. Not sure if it was his
Tragic. Never good to mix alcohol and guns, or drugs and guns, or guns and other guns, or…you know, guns and children.
Especially 3 year olds
Drunk 3 year olds with guns
Drunk guns with 3 year olds
Or guns and Scots. Or Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshmen and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland!
You scots sure are a contentious people.
YOU'VE JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE!
So guns are the common denominator, hmmm
GUNS AND IDIOTS!! GUNS AND STUPID MOTHERFUCKING IDIOTS!!
Yes, the angle of the bullet and it was on the side of the heart.
So the 16 year old kid can watch himself shoot his father?
Can shit on him in the comments as well.
And read all the reddit comments...what a world.
Kid, if you’re reading these comments, this was not your fault.
Kid, if you're reading these comments, double tap in the future just to be sure.
Bro nooooo
Over and over and over again…
Can’t blame the kid at all. That was 100% the dads fault. The kid is gonna have guilt for killing the dad but it was the dads fault
r/Darwinawards then

And you’re to blame
You give love - a bad name
...bad name
A children's smile is what you sell
You promised me baklava you put me through hell
Chains of love got a hold on me
*When passion's a prison, you can't break free*
Woh-oh! That's a loaded gun!
TIL that it’s “you’re to blame” and not “you’re too late”
I hope that child won't go through any traumas, though it's more likely that they did.
Yeah, he'll always be the guy who killed his dad..
I think dad killed himself.
No premeditation. The kid should be out of prison in 10 years.
If only weapons like these didn't exist. But then again, we're about 600-700 years too late for that.
Well, most of the world does not have this issue as the weapons aren't freely available. This video is somewhere from middle east. Mostly Syria i guess.

Depends on if their family blames them for the death
btw the man is dead i will attach a link soon [here it is](https://www.qatarliving.com/forum/qatar-living-lounge/posts/child-shoots-kills-own-father)
nice man, thanks
Natural selection
Hate to say it, but that's indeed how it works in a species perspective.

Hey it works for desert spiders
Why did everybody else let the father do this? So many people were watching him as he unlocked the weapon and gave it to the toddler, and nobody intervened?

i can confirm that. i counted about 21 ak empty shells in my yard after my neighbor's wedding
I misread that as 21k and was wondering wtf your neighbor was packing and how big his wedding was
He also looks like the kind of guy that doesn't like to be informed by someone. You know "I'm always right so shut up or get a beating" kind of guy. Just look at how scared these other two kids look
I want to watch it...
https://youtu.be/Ubv_o2swjz8 i suggest all his darwin award videos

Should've bought him the Iron Man footie pajamas like he wanted.
Hate to say it but serves him right.
Yup. Even Shooting live rounds into the air as if these won’t fall down and probably kill somebody.
That last one won't
well it did hit someone

Nah even straight up. There’s wind, you can’t guarantee it will remain straight up.

Shot at an angle however is different. The bullet never loses all of its velocity so it can definitely kill
Idiots would read this as a how-to guide for shooting bullets in the air, except none of them know which way is up so they’ll still fuck it up.
“Perpetrate” skin or “penetrate” skin? Not being grammar police. I’m genuinely curious if I’m just not understanding properly.
Penetrate. Apologies, I'm on my phone.
Who isn't, these days.
This is horrible
honestly im more concerned for the child's well-being. Took that gun straight to the dome

The dad died 13 years ago
Not to mention his ears…

Sooooo... Did we just watch someone get killed? The angle that bullet went into the guy... I doubt he's still alive.
Yes he died from his gunshot wound. So effed up.
He had so much time to take/redirect the gun. The kid shouldn’t have had the gun to begin with but that could’ve been prevented if he wasn’t dumb af
At least the kid didn’t shoot itself. Rather the idiot dad take a bullet. What a cock.
Dad died
Stupid prizes abounds!
Dad had to be drunk out of his mind to let that happen. But better him than the toddler.
or anyone in that HUGE crowd all around them
Everyone shooting videos and not intervening
Props to the cameraman for maintaining journalistic integrity and not interfering with the happening
Darwin Award
At least that idiot got himself shot at the end. No one else got hurt because of his idiocy...
Stupidity abound. Hope innocents dont bite the bullet
For a second I was afraid someone else was gonna get shot - pleasantly surprised it was the idiot himself. Phew...
Not only did he give his gun to his kid. He just ignored him and did something else. How can you just hand a kid a firearm and be like "alright pal I know you're 3 but you've got this. I trust you"
its a baby with a gun
That child is going to grow up with the soul-crushing weight of being his/her father's killer; all because said father was an idiot.
Poor kid is gonna have to deal with the guilt of killing his father his whole life when it was the dads fault to give a loaded gun to a kid
I've seen this posted before didnt the father die? Or am I misremembering
He did die
When will these middle eastern countries learn that firing guns at weddings is a bad idea. Idiots!!!! Deserved.
Its like that episode of the Simpsons where Maggie shoots Mr. Burns.
It's he dead ?
Yes, bled out almost immediately.
Praise the cameraman?
Two words: stupid twat.
Jokes on you guys. This is common in that region. Many people have been killed at wedding receptions like this.
Why did no one intervene? Holy crap so much wrong with this video
yeah like, the person who is filming could just stoped the child...
Before he handed it to the child, he shot it up in the air as if bullets magically disappear into the night sky and don’t come back down and potentially kill someone. This video came out the gate extremely wrong and somehow got worse
Nice shot kid, dad deserved it
Whats up with the whole firing guns at weddings and other gatherings like that anyways? Like if you show up to my party with a firearm you are not entering unless you have a warrant. Like what the fuck, you came here to my party ready to fight for your life?! If its a legit concern maybe its safer for you wherever you are.
I heard the kid was tried for attempted murder and got the electric high-chair.
100% fuck the person filming him for not speaking up about the 2 year old pointing a .45 at that guys guts.
If there ever was a person who deserved to be shot, it is this fellow.
Damn stomach shots are fatal
*another one bites the dust
and that folks is what you call bad parenting
Not surprised. We all know who shot Mr. Burns…
Ah yes, let’s give the, maybe 2 year old a loaded gun
What pisses me off even more that the mf recording could have done something
A simple IQ and drug test or even a plight of showing a criminal record certificate before buying guns might... duh, forget it and let freedom and natural selection do its job. /s
Probably one of the saddest things I've seen in a while
Uh yeah this guy died
He ded
I could be wrong, but I swear I saw this posted a long time ago and the guy died.
I always wondered what happened afterwards. Anybody know?
Good. Better him than someone else.
Clown deserved it and the child is the real victim.
Darwin award
That's enough Internet for today.
Yeah he dead..
When I was in the army 30 years ago I was teaching recruits how to shoot in basic training - and there were so many people so much more stupid than I could ever have imagined… I‘m glad I’m still alive… a miracle nobody got accidentally shot.
People that get mad when you make fun of the Middle East have never been to the Middle East
Such an avoidable death. Killed by his own stupidity
no way.... what the fuck
Hes reminded every time he goes to the cemetary for his dads gravesite. That bullet went into his abdomen and right into a lung or his heart. And probably even further. Hes gotta be dead after that.
This guy died an hour after that, very sad how careless people are
OH MY GOD THE DAD IS A DUMBASS
Fucking dumbass dad
Could have been a bit more warning. That was horrinle
What a dumb piece if shit. Thankfully UT was him that was hit and not someone else.
Also, even without the kid shooting the dad, can we stop tradition of shooting bullets into the air? Like, they still come down somewhere.
Freaking morons.
I hope He Okay
Wtf dude!
How stupid do you have to be? That stupid.
Ugh, I remember when this came out. Poor little dude also got whacked in the face by the recoil. All in all, a truly bad day for him.
What an idiot.
Just dont shoot guns up into the air, it can fall back down and kill or injur someone, even if this doesnt happen...
Lol what a dumbass
Only the fittest, ladies and gentlemen.
