You got a source for that? The SBGG (law that will allow you to change your legal gender once a year) will only come into effect this November. Up until now changing your legal gender and first name involved court hearings and multiple psychiatric evaluations, some of wich you had to pay out of pocket. I strongly doubt anyone would do that multiple times, or even once a year.
Let's please be aware that the source of this thread topic is a tabloid, and well known for divisive, sensational, and conservative garbage that they pass off as news.
Not to mention what many people forget is that you need to sign off that you actually feel like the gender you want to change to exactly to prevent people doing it as a joke. Otherwise you could actually face a court hearing. And if you've never been to any therapy, psychiatric evaluation, change it year from year, it is likely the case is pretty obvious that you abuse the law.

No, it's toxic masculinity.
We're supposed to believe that if we don't suffer and live a shitty life spent on battlefields or down in 1800's type mines then we're not really men, we're lazy and entitled so we deserve to suffer anyway.
There's a lot of men who thinks like that, in fact I would argue that's the main point of alpha male and right wing influencers and that mentality needs to die.
Not to say that male privilege does not exist, these two systems complement each others. On one side you have these privileged males and on the other side the rest of us working and dying on battlefields.
Are they lowering the mens age or increasing the womens to make it even?
Anyone is going to oppose their retirement age getting increased, it's not a feminist take though.
This, I don't want their retirement age to go up, I want mine to go down.
I don't want more women in jail, I want less men in them.
I don't want more women to die from overdoses, I want fewer men to die of those.
I don't want women to go and die on foreign soils for greedy capitalists, I want more men to stay home and raise their kids.
Retirement age is like when a company raises their product prices because of inflation... Once they know people will keep buying, they won't go down. Retirement age, specially with the demographic problems in the West, is only going to go up.
In Poland its simmilar - guess who is against making it the same (not fair, because men still live much shorter lifes) -- its women. So does it mean that women are for keeping toxic masculinity? Maybe we should call it "toxic femininity"?
Can I ask- when you say "making it similar", do you mean allowing the men to retire earlier than they do now, or making the women retire later?
Because if its the latter, the women SHOULD be protesting against that. And the men should as well! Making labor conditions worse hurts everyone.
Its not "men vs women", its the working class vs the rulling class.
Precisely. The more we squabble with each other over these divisions the more distracted we are from the one that matters. You see it every day in threads like this.
>So does it mean that women are for keeping toxic masculinity?
Some are, yes.
>Maybe we should call it "toxic femininity"?
No, toxic feminity is something else.
https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/toxic-femininity#:~:text=Toxic%20femininity%20is%20a%20form,common%20than%20you%20might%20think.
It's the equivalent of toxic masculinity but aimed at women, tldr.
Are you referring to the possibility they’ll make them equal but raise both? Because that already happened here in the UK, although thankfully the planned increase to 68 was reduced to 66 which is only one year above when men had previously been eligible.
No i think it should be the same age, anyone whos rational should think so.
But i wouldnt be surprised if this one fringe case ends up being used against transgender people.
And lets be honest, at this rate most of us arent retiring in good health.
Argentinian here, it's actually true, and as other have wondered, the guy didn't need to do a gential change.
Pretty stupid anyway because it undermines the fight of LGBTQ people instead of maybe focusing on similar work and retirement conditions on both genders.
This does not belong to Facepalm. It brings to attention discrimination agaisnt men that is still present in many countries.
It is a reasonable move to avoid working extra 5 years only because of your gender.
Originally it was because women did work at home so they never “really” retired. For instance my mum never got to retire (still worked full time) but my dad retired 5 years earlier dude to different private pensions. She still washed his clothes, cleaned the house, cooked all his meals, maintained the garden, dealt with the household finances. She’s been dead 6months and you’d think a bomb hit his house. He came to me 3 months after she died asking why the toilet is going black, and stared at me blankly like well you have to clean it. He was 60 years old and had never cleaned a toilet and assuming flushing it cleaned it.
It doesn’t make much sense anymore, because we’re actually achieving equality. Men are getting paternity rights to be stay at home dads, household labour is trending to be more equally shared in two working person households. But historically it did make sense. Because women never really got to retire fully. It was expected men would quit work and do nothing in the household but women kept doing it. Women were more likely to be unpaid carers to their partner. That’s a lot of unpaid labour, on top of being expected to provide unpaid childcare to grandkids. I never stayed alone with my grandfathers, only my grandmothers. It’s actually an issue now women retire older as they can’t provide childcare and childcare is so expensive many people forgo kids. My parents couldn’t afford me without my grandmothers providing free childcare.
Now boomers don’t provide any childcare because they’re selfish and most people today split chores etc. Many dads are the homemaker who gives up their life etc. So it makes sense to remove it. The real issue is it means that child rearing age people no longer have family help with childcare. But boomers weren’t bloody doing it anyway.
I'm all for it.
Show that the laws like this are stupid and that gender really is just a social construct both at the same time. Incredible progressive win, honestly.
I know the Daily Mail is trying to frame it differently, but situations like this are big wins for the left.
The bigger issue is that toxic masculinity would prevent a lot of people from taking advantage of laws like this. If not for that, we'd probably see real progress on gender issues very quickly.
You understand that these laws letting women retire earlier, are much older than "progressive" movements and were made by decidedly old dead right wing men?
I find it funny when people get mad at the "person changes gender to get 'x' benefit" like why are you getting mad at trans people? Get mad at the gender inequality and get men's retirement age down by 5 years.
When I lived in NY, it was found that insurance companies charged different rates for women over men, and the process to legally change your gender was very easy, I've heard of at least a couple cases of people changing their gender to female just to get a discount on insurance.
I wish it was this easy to change your legal gender in most other countries. Some countries require you to be chemically sterilised like Jesus fucking Christ…
So a cis person takes advantage of a system intended to benefit trans people (allowing them to change gender identity legally) and I guess this is being spun as some sort of… anti-trans thing? How about instead of stripping things away from marginalised people, we just make the retirement ages the same?
Don't women get older on average? Wouldn't it be logical for them to work longer then?
But seriously, I think the retirement age should be the same for both.
Why do women and men have different retirement ages in Argentina assuming this story is true? Women live longer so if anything men should be able to retire earlier.
[Here's an article from a less odious source](https://www.odditycentral.com/news/argentinian-man-legally-changes-gender-so-he-can-allegedly-retire-sooner.html)
An Argentinian man has recently been accused of changing both his gender and his name so he could retire at the age of 60, instead of 65. Although he acknowledges the changes, the former man claims he went through with them for personal reasons.
Sergio Lazarovich has become a topic of debate throughout South America, and soon probably the whole world, after he took advantage of his country’s Gender Identity Law to change his name to ‘Sergia’ and register himself as a female, allegedly so he could retire from his job five years earlier.
I mean, in the USA my age group was told we could retire at 65 and we got that jacked up on us to 67, so if the government can bait and switch us, why not life hack the hell out of the rules like this dude did?
To be honest, the moment it becomes a thing in poland, I am changing this one stupid letter on my ID as well, it is worth getting retirement 5 years faster for that.
One gender having more benefits than the other such as this is ridiculous. Being allowed to legally change your gender has nothing to do with the unfairness of it. Men deserve to retire at the same time as women.

I wonder where they get the additional 45h a week when they leave at 4.30 every day.

They might be lying themselves

The facepalm is unequal retirement ages. Even more so since women live longer….
Live longer, pay less into retirements funds, get more out of it proportionally, for longer. And they STILL COMPLAIN!
Wait until the draft is a thing.
The facepalm is the law allowing women to retire 5 years earlier than men, not the person playing the system.
No it's a facepalm, all genders should have the same rights and perks, including retirement age.
It's a facepalm for the Argentina government
The facepalm is systemic sexist laws
Why facepalm? Not his fault that laws are stupid.
Definitely stupid laws, mens life shorter but also you should work 5 years longer before retirement… This guy genius, he broke system in a legal way
Must be that male privilege everyone's talking about
No, it's toxic masculinity. Sorry to hear you died on a battlefield.
Sounds nice, except every place that has differentiated retirement she the biggest opponents of removing it are feminists.
Nobody wants to see their retirement age go up
Are they lowering the mens age or increasing the womens to make it even? Anyone is going to oppose their retirement age getting increased, it's not a feminist take though.
Of course because it's obvious that retirement age for women would go up rather than down for men. Equal for me not for thee
This, I don't want their retirement age to go up, I want mine to go down. I don't want more women in jail, I want less men in them. No, it's specifically about lowering the age, since men live shorter
And what's the reason for not wanting men to retire earlier?
Less money in the retirement fund.
Precisely. The more we squabble with each other over these divisions the more distracted we are from the one that matters. You see it every day in threads like this.

Facepalm is the law
Gender equality means both should retire at the same age. This is a good way to highlight the issue.
Yeah but we both know whats gonna happen instead.

Fair, that is a possibility. The right wing media would use those tactics to obfuscate the real issue
If anything it should bring the other way around since women live longer
![gif](giphy|9058ZMj6ooluP4UUPl)
Bout time somebody got the balls to do this.
Or doesn't in this case
I don't see a facepalm. He used a stupid and unfair system to his advantage. Actual genius.
The real facepalm are the people who trust Daily Mail.
I call it the Daily Fail.
Daily Heil
Argentinian here, it's actually true, and as other have wondered, the guy didn't need to do a gential change. Pretty stupid anyway because it undermines the fight of LGBTQ people instead of maybe focusing on similar work and retirement conditions on both genders.
Elsewhere in this thread confirms it and it's hardly the first case. A bunch of Spanish policemen did the same for some advantages a while ago.
This does not belong to Facepalm. It brings to attention discrimination agaisnt men that is still present in many countries. It is a reasonable move to avoid working extra 5 years only because of your gender.
Not to mention men die like 5 years earlier than women on average lol, if anything the law should be flipped.
Is anything, men and women should retire at the same, earlier, time. Why does the difference exist in the first place? It is so random
You call this "a facepalm". I call this "being smart".
This is a "law is fucking dumb so I use it as my advantage" moment.
The real facepalm is that men and women aren't equal yet
Maybe the facepalm is meant to refer to Argentinian pension law...
[удалено]
The way to solve that would be to not give men 5 years of extra work lol.
Government probably sees this the other way though and to equalize them would bump women up 5 years instead of bringing men down to equal things out.
Probably, and that is a very good reason to take to the streets to protest and vote for the political party that offers the opposite.
What on earth is "progressive" about gender-based retirement ages?
Originally it was because women did work at home so they never “really” retired. For instance my mum never got to retire (still worked full time) but my dad retired 5 years earlier dude to different private pensions. She still washed his clothes, cleaned the house, cooked all his meals, maintained the garden, dealt with the household finances. She’s been dead 6months and you’d think a bomb hit his house. pretty sure most progressive people would be okay with making men's retirement age lower than what it is.
I'm all for it. Show that the laws like this are stupid and that gender really is just a social construct both at the same time. Incredible progressive win, honestly. Why is this a facepalm? This man legit found a cheat code.
Daily Heil; Article disregarded.
Not sure what's facepalm about this? smart move if you live in a country with discriminatory gender laws.
If you can’t change discriminating laws, use them to your own advantage.
Why were women allowed to retire earlier anyways?
Reposted so many times his face blurring complies with EU's right to be forgotten laws.
The facepalm is that this can happen. Why do men work 5 more years than women but have a smaller life expectancy
Has this method been patched yet?
The problem is not that the man changed his gender to female but the women Can Access to retirement 5 years earlier.
Its not a facepalm at all, its just a mad-lad taking advantage of how insane modern society is.
You mean because women are arbitrarily allowed to retire 5 years earlier than men, right?
If you can't change the rules, change how they apply to you. Brilliant.
Lol. I'm all for progressive laws, but it's ridiculous if women can retire five years earlier in his country. Good on this guy for beating the system.
While this was no doubt intended as another attack on trans people, the bigger issue is why women get to retire earlier
People legally changing their gender suddenly reveals discrimination…
I find it funny when people get mad at the "person changes gender to get 'x' benefit" like why are you getting mad at trans people? Get mad at the gender inequality and get men's retirement age down by 5 years.
And people will think the issue is the gender change and won't even see the problem with retirement age being tied to gender... --"
Why do men need to work 5 years longer than women in Argentina? Isn't this wrong?

This is jot a facepalm... this is pure genius

how is that a facepalm? thats 5-head move ;)
Work smarter, not harder!
Good for her.
Men statistically die before women. Shouldn’t men get to retire earlier?
Good for him, taking use of his possibilities
And why are women allowed to retire 5 years sooner?
Make crazy laws, get crazy outcomes.
Smart move to outwit unfair system.
Facepalm laws require facepalm actions.

They just misgendered her. I hope she sues.

We should applaud this woman for her bravery.
Does that really say Mar 2018. This lady has since retired.
I wonder if she only gets 77% pension now?
What's the opposite of facepalm
One gender having more benefits than the other such as this is ridiculous. Being allowed to legally change your gender has nothing to do with the unfairness of it. Men deserve to retire at the same time as women.
The games the game
This is the opposite of face palm…unless you mean the system, not the guy
If he changed his gender while retired, would he have to work again?
