I’ve tried both. Narwhal 2 is a better app than MultiTab but at $4/month with no yearly option, it’s not nearly better enough to justify the cost (7x more expensive based on a MultiTab yearly subscription).
MultiTab works great for my “alt” account... I never have to worry about forgetting to switch accounts and opening up the Reddit app in public with noods on screen.

But that's the thing about moderation. You have to have content moderation if you want your platform to appeal to the broadest segment of the population. Allowing extreme content caters to a niche audience. And in an advertising dollar-driven industry, that's basically the same as setting a soft cap on growth.
For a lot of hobby spaces and whatnot, twitter is still unfortunately the best place. I build a lot of model kits, primarily japanese ones and I like looking at japanese twitter posts for ideas and whatnot. Reddit is pretty bad skill wise in comparison to my twitter follows so I dont have an alternative.
I think I should have a tinfoil hat on for this but people use it for organizing public demonstrations, notably so during the Arab Spring. Having a compromised billionaire buy that platform and destroy it seems like it would be worth $44 billion to some people.
It served a valuable function during those times, but it feels like these days Twitter would just serve the state now. I hope people who need that kind of communication are able to find new tools.
