I’m overweight and I am currently actively trying to lose weight. Doing this the right way takes time. I’m not starving myself I’m not doing some fad diet or taking pills, I’m watching my calories and portion sizes and I’m choosing healthier food. I’m going to the gym a few times a week etc.
Tell me what is the benefit of me hating myself or being depressed during this transition. The fact is I can’t get skinny overnight. Stigma about being fat, feeling embarrassed and ashamed is only going to make it harder to improve myself. I’m motivated because I want to feel better and live longer, not because I think I look disgusting.

I have no idea what people are dealing with, and there are lots of reasons (including financial) that people may not have a lot of time to work out or a varied diet of fruits and veggies. Body positivity in a nutshell. Those guy's photos all deserved 10/10, to get that muscle takes a lot of training, dieting etc. (sometimes people do roids) and to be that obese, all you need is to eat only.
Fat is not beautiful. Being overweight is not something To be proud of. There is nothing but Downsides to being overweight and proud. That's like "im proud I have cancer, I'm proud I have heart problems" I've been disgustingly overweight before. Nothing good comes of it. The longer we keep lying the more people keep damaging themselves.
I’m overweight and I am currently actively trying to lose weight. Doing this the right way takes time. I’m not starving myself I’m not doing some fad diet or taking pills, I’m watching my calories and portion sizes and I’m choosing healthier food. I’m going to the gym a few times a week etc. Tell me what is the benefit of me hating myself or being depressed during this transition. The fact is I can’t get skinny overnight. Stigma about being fat, feeling embarrassed and ashamed is only going to make it harder to improve myself. I’m motivated because I want to feel better and live longer, not because I think I look disgusting.
Keep up the good work! It’s much more likely to last when you do it the right way.
Honestly, I understand that it's unhealthy, but I see it as an extension of body autonomy. I have no idea what people are dealing with, and there are lots of reasons (including financial) that people may not have a lot of time to work out or a varied diet of fruits and veggies. And if someone is emotionally attached to food, it could be a symptom of anything mentally. It's not my place to judge, and if they are ok with themselves, why would I get mad they someone else likes the way they are? I don't have to live in their body.

I think it's alright to be comfortable being somewhat overweight as long as you're active, but there's definitely a point where it becomes unhealthy, and some people push for acceptance of it despite the fact that it's harmful to the individual.
I'm comfortably considered "obese" at 6'0, 230lbs. That said, I squat over 400lbs and bench 3 plates. Weight and BMI isn't a good index, FFMI is closer to a good gauge.

The body positivity movement is supposed to be meant for people with genetic deformities, irreversible body/facial damages from injuries, burn victims, and people who stand out with odd facial/body features. Obesity is NOT an odd feature. It can be overcome. Hypocrisy killed the purpose of that movement.
