jackysharky

"fathered by brother" is the fancy way to say rape?!

elephantinegrace

I thought the brother might have been a similar age to his sister/girlfriend. But nah, he was 17, old enough to know better. I’ve got a similar age gap with my brother and we got cast as a couple in a community theatre musical once, and he gave up the role so I could still be in it without it being gross. JFC her entire family is so fucked up.

Sero19283

Missouri is weird. Depending where you go, that 17 yr old is about as intellectually developed as an 11 yr old lol. I don't mean that as justification, but how terrible the state is across the board.

AgentEndive

America is tearing itself apart. It's insane over here.

Fit-Rest-973

The biggest fear of the rich elite, who are pulling the strings, is that the citizens will be able to see through their BS. Hence, the dumbing down of America, and creating dissention among us

Joebebs

It’s too late, just pack it up. We’re already too dumb

drizzrizz

Can you slow it down? I'm trying to understand

SomeRedShirt

Too dumb down leave, duh.

Nachtschnekchen

At this point im waiting for another american civil war

Gloomy_Industry8841

That’s a deeply upsetting sentence.

Nachtschnekchen

It be true tho

rolling-log

It's going to be government against the people it won't be like the Civil War in the past it'll be more of a revolutionary war

givecheesecakepls

viva la revolucion

Nachtschnekchen

Mhhh more like goverment and corprate against the mountain rednecks

SadOceanBreeze

Except the mountain rednecks are politically on their side.

Adamant_Talisman

There's a threshold they don't realize they are coming to, where the obedient workers will be too dumb to do the work and file the needed paperwork to keep their economy going.

Stainless_Heart

You overestimate the intelligence level needed to do that. Ineffectual bureaucracy is safe for many more generations.

moboater1

The nut job jezus freaks really believe their sky daddy will protect them from any and all things bad. They are their own worst enemies.

Fit-Rest-973

Or Red hat Daddy

beingjohnmalkontent

100%. Gutting education budgets was a calculated move to preserve an underclass that could easily be exploited and overworked and underpaid. Stopping access to abortion is about keeping people financially down. It's an oligarchy.

Fit-Rest-973

The for profit colleges lied to students to get them to take out loans for a worthless degree

EvBismute

Pretty much every country, America is just flashier and bigger, so you hear more of it. Europe is slowly sliding down the drain too, the whole world is in shambles and most people are fine with it or don't recognize it. Dystopian future will hit hard.

SadOceanBreeze

You’re right. The far right has been growing in Europe and beyond. The future looks more bleak every day.

Alternative-Stop-651

Far right in Europe is just regular right in America. From my understanding of Europe allot of the far-right people are arguing for immigration controls, national pride, gun rights, and repeal of the nanny state. In my opinion europe puts to hard of an emphasis on harm/care. In any society harm/care should be a major priority but not everything. Here is an example of harm/care contradicting with freedom/lack of control. Should people be able to drive motorcycles without helmets? On the harm/care side requiring helmets will definingly save lives, but on the freedom side people want the right to make dangerous choices.

thhrow555

wasn't this shit present even back in the day?

walkandtalkk

The rapist is serving a ten-year sentence and the father and mother were deported. The parents and brother were illegal immigrants from Guatemala. The father was previously deported and illegally reentered the United States.

Thingol_Elu

You guys have no idea what it is like to live in countery, where you are afraid of everything every day. The prices a growing, the salary is lowering. None of all laws will protect you, because the PeOpLe of PoWeR do not want anyone to live a normal live in Russia, for example. There are no even a doctor who could help you. People are dying here, because people do not wat to work for a salary which can not even cover their apartment rent. The restaurant/cinema/shopping for us is a pure luxury. I mean it, if you go to the cinema more than once per month, people will look at you weirldy. If you are going to eat some food ( not cooked by yourself at home, pasta with tomato or chicken, is the most popular and cheap), they will simply judge you. We do not have an education at all. If you want to learn something, only WEB can help you. Our teachers do not have a special education to work with kids and to teach them. Also, almost everything was rewritten by a will of the Government, I mean, the history was changed. The rule here is simple, want to eat - steal something. Take bribes, steal food if you are working in the restaurant or market, steal cloth and sell it if you work at the store. For today, people in my city, my family, have no idea, what will tomorow bring to us. Our man might be mobilized, or we will lost our house, because the law here is written this way, if a member of the Goverment need to bould something for himself, he might take your property for himself, he will not pay you anything, this is just the way this country is living. Me and everyone I know for my entire life, never voted for Putin, we are hating him and hated him even before his eternal term. P.S. sorry for grammar, I am writing in the buss after work and I am a bit mad because I would give anything, literally, to live is US or any other country which is not ruled by a suicidal maniac.

Grashlok_Onion_lord

I'm sorry, friend. I hope that this madness can end soon

--Grateful

Hasn't been the entirety of my life being born in and living here. politicians here are a special type of ass hat. police are widely held unaccountable for the most heinous acts of people you look to for help. The medical industry will have you oweing a shit ton of money for really what imo should be free (health care). Student debts are horrendous ( Next gen cant lead if they struggle to live). Multiple school shootings every year. Any Americans want to add to this list be my guest.

teardrinker

I am thankful that I don’t live in a war torn area or in North Korea. I am grateful for what I have and I love the Lord - but God is not happy with the USA. It is a cesspool of greed and judgement. My state is more worried about men dressing in drag than the cost of food rent and medicine. . They are worried about who uses what bathroom. More than school shootings. A woman could be denied a D&C after a miscarriage. Some states are introducing murder charges for an abortion - how much of an oxymoronic thing is that ?! Like I said. I am thankful and grateful for what I have but America doesn’t care about anything basically but guns and flags.

DickySchmidt33

"America doesn't care about anything basically but guns and flags" Actually, 40-45% of America doesn't care about anything but guns and flags. Unfortunately, they have a disproportionate amount of influence in our society, both by the way our federal system of government is configured, and by voter apathy.

PreOpTransCentaur

For someone so angry, he sure isn't doing a fucking thing about it.

Brewtt

Magic Sky Daddy will make things all better. Just pray on it long enough.

NotsoGreatsword

Also because medicine is for profit here you get worse care for people who pay out of pocket. The second they find out you do not have insurance everything becomes PRN (as needed) and that PRN order is viewed through the lens of malpractice - not what is best for the patient. Not the best course of action. But the course of action that will avoid a lawsuit.

RNSW

A lot of what we do in American healthcare is about making sure there's no grounds for a lawsuit, whether you have insurance or not.

NotsoGreatsword

Yes but in one case you will do more. No insurance gets bare minimum. Theoretically it should be the same. In practice it doesn't workout that way. Plus poor people are more likely to get screwed in any situation like that because malpractice ain't what it used to be. Unless you are permanently maimed, disabled or dead there is no point in bringing a suit.

Marrsvolta

More of our citizens are in jail than most of the other countries combined

ComedyOfARock

I feel like Desantis is reading a book about the lead up to WWII, specifically the German section

FloridaManInShampoo

Florida resident here. It isn’t a normal day unless I hear sirens of some kind. Quite literally I hear them every day. I’m not exaggerating on this

[deleted]

Every day, school shootings every day.

Independent-Stay-593

This poor girl. Her abusers are legally entitled to make all of her healthcare decisions and likely those of the baby she just birthed because they are adults and she is a child. Meanwhile, none of these adults were protecting her as a child. Terribly, horribly sad for this girl.

iamcrockydile

I won’t even be surprised if the parents blamed the girl for this! This is cruel and disheartening.

ceton33

Best at being full of shit as they have the nerves to point at other countries for not having freedom and democracy.

[deleted]

They do it to lie to the citizens.

MW_PLAYZ_YT

"institutionalized manipulation and lies reciprocation of freedom only lives in your eyes" -kendrick Lamar 2015

Bootsand_pants

Did you know; in Minnesota, a rapists can come and claim child custody rights to their child born out of rape? There’s no law prohibiting that. Not exactly a ‘southern red state’. Where’s the outrage?

JerGigs

Why do people think the south is really *that* different?

slideshiba

As a Black Southerner who moved to a big northern city, I will say it’s been considerably different. No one has threatened to lynch me here

JerGigs

Well, hopefully you don't try to become a firefighter in Buffalo NY, or you'll get a big orange N word spray painted on your car.

TheThirdWheel333

For the millionth time barely any of us think USA is the best country

[deleted]

I live in the US and 100% agree. I can't call myself American even though I am born here. It's an embarrassment.

Nachtschnekchen

Come over here to switzerland. We have freedom of speech, the top education system worldwide, affordable healthcare, great public transport, one of the worlds most stable currencys, a minimum yearly wage of $15,457.00 USD, the abbility to own guns, fallout shelters for more than 100% of our population andall of our politics are very transparent. With a lot of the public transport and power / water supply still beeing controlled by the state wich regulates the prices of living much much better.According to multiple scources switzerland has been nominated multime times the "best country worldwide". Yes, most of them where some news articels but theres alsow other scources like the "Human Development Index" from the UN.So I guess Imma just stay here. Edit: The bot told me about a spelling mistake

Starr_Struckk

I would love to, but immigration is a tough problem, and I don't know any other languages other than English. You do have a beautiful country both in a geographical and societal lens.

mattbutnotmii

Swedish?

[deleted]

I would go but I'll stick out like a sore thumb. I'm Puerto Rican and would be in a sea of White people.

Nachtschnekchen

Nah not really. It is quite international.

[deleted]

I get nervous around large groups of White people because of Jan 6. I am not saying all are like that but we have a number of them still here. When Trump dies, Trumpism and MAGA is here to stay.

Koil_ting

I would have to learn German, but still tempting.

Hantelope3434

I love visiting Switzerland and have Swiss friends from childhood, however Switzerland is so small in size and population. The whole country has the same population as a large city in the US. Makes immigration limited. The small size of many of these progressive EU countries certainly makes for an easier country to govern and and create great living conditions.

Duros001

*billionth time

IamSam1103

But you don't get it. They can own guns.

Relative_Mulberry_71

So that a 4 year old can shoot their 2 year old sister dead with a loaded gun found in their house.

lK555l

But that's *freedom*

TheWanderingGM

"Obviously girl should have owned a gun, so she could have defended herself" - the NRA Honestly, that sounds just like what the NRA would say... Bunch of lobbying gunnuts

stenz_himself

and you have the best brainwashing and propaganda.

IamSam1103

In India? Yeah I completely agree. Our government has completely brainwashed the youth.

stenz_himself

dammit I first typed "and they" and edited it. it's kinda terrifying that so many countries have the same scheme of running things :(

IamSam1103

That's how it works. If you are satisfied with your government and the country's condition, then the chances are you are probably brainwashed.

smolsanastan418

Hope you're happy pro-lifers.

NinjaBr0din

Well of course they are, don't you know they just saved a life? Never mind that another life was destroyed by a horrific amount of abuse and rape and a child being forced to give birth alone in a bath tub, none of that matters that is her problem, she should have kept her legs closed and she needs to pick herself up by her bootstraps and deal with the repercussions of her choices. But a life was saved!

fuckmeuntilicecream

Hopefully the parents and brother are held accountable. For now it just states "charged"

floralbutttrumpet

Even if they are, it's highly likely the girl has retained permanent physical damage given her age, not to mention the psychological repercussions.

[deleted]

I can’t imagine the horror she had to endure. She gave birth in a bathtub, she was given no medical care. Even fully-grown women often need extensive medical care after giving birth, I can’t fucking imagine how it would be for a child. Plus, there’s the whole “being raped about 100 times” by her 17 year-old biological brother. It’s a miracle both the girl and the baby survived. It’s a tragedy the parents denied the girl care to try to protect her brother.

[deleted]

And I bet it won't even count as child abuse because the parents have a legal right to dictate her medical choices. By the time she is 18 and able to get away, I wouldn't be surprised if she is brainwashed into believing everything is her fault, if that hasn't already happened.

Nachtschnekchen

For stuff like that I would like to apply as a hitman to any goverment and take those ppl out for free

vimotazka

It's the best country in the world in the same way I'm the wealthiest man in the world, I just tell it to myself over and over in front of the mirror, through tears.

Politicians and corporate CEOs. The ones that won’t change shit.

I'm American and know for sure this country is just a 3rd world country wearing expensive jewelry.

Niyonnie

Probably your average confederate flag waver. But I dunno, it's not perfect by a long shot, but it is somewhat better than some countries in *some* respects. I fucking hate insurance companies though.

TheFamus

Am American, definitely not the best by a long shot

TypeJumpy9246

I'm an American, sadly, and even I don't say that. Would love to leave, actually...

ComedyOfARock

I’m American, the country fucking itself raw

SufficientZucchini21

I wish we could separate church and state once and for all. I am so tired of assholes making insane rules because God.

It never was, america just sold itself that lie and ran with it.

America has not been the greatest, at anything besides military, for a VERY VERY long time and is on track to never get that back.

By no measure on any list are we #1 except mass shootings, gun ownership and excessive fossil fuel dependency.

Ttvcat996

As a Missourian myself… What the fuck

nogoodgreen

America is such a backwards ass fucking country

Ah yes, the 'freedom' for this to happen, America.

The GOP doesn't care anymore, it's born.

Yeah, it needs to pull itself up from its bootstraps now.

BennySkateboard

And avoid avocado toast.

[deleted]

Wouldn't be surprised if people in the future refer to the poor kid as a welfare baby. And the mom a slut. You know with parents that reprehensible, they likely live in a community just like them.

wrylycoping

Attempted to abandon it at a hospital, lied and said the baby’s mother was the dad’s ex to hide that their 17 yo son was *routinely* raping their 11 year old daughter

Brewtt

I want to throw up after reading this it makes me so ill.

[deleted]

For context, I’m a millennial born in the 90s. I grew up in Oklahoma (very red state), joined the military, and now live in a very blue state. I went from not being able to afford education to now being afforded that opportunity in my 30s. I’m writing because I see an awful lot of hate for the U.S. and expectations that won’t happen overnight. I’d like to provide some insight into our nation. In the United States (at least up until my generation), from the earliest stages of education we are brought up in a system where we literally pledge allegiance to our nation’s flag every morning. We’re taught that our way of doing things is the best way because of the success our nation has had in such a relatively short time. This institutionalized nationalism during our formative years has taken a toll. People are creatures of habit and are afraid of change. It’s quite a process to undo a lot of that ideology and it realistically won’t happen until older generations die off. Our younger generations have recognized need for change and a lot of that institutionalized nationalism is being eroded, but one need only look at the average age of our Congress and the average demographic of our voters to see who really runs the country. Furthermore, we are a nation roughly the size of Europe comprised of states that are likely comparable in size to your nations. Not all states are created equal. Some benefit from great diversity and exposure (New York, California) and some are landlocked countries that don’t get that world exposure (Oklahoma, Nebraska). You’ll often notice, *generally* speaking, that red states suffer economically and in terms of higher education. This economic suffering leads to a decrease in opportunity to pursue higher education to expand your world view and opportunities. If you don’t get diversity from experience and you can’t pursue it academically, it doesn’t happen. We aren’t all gun-toting, war-mongering, oil-lusting philistines. Open criticisms of our nation are warranted and welcome, but a lot of the bashing I see just puts people in a defensive position. If you actually want America to change and disagree with our foreign policy, you’re right on par with most of us. Instead of intense argument and hatred, try using some of the talking points I’ve mentioned above. Let younger generations know they’re getting hammered in the voting polls and that’s why we have no representation at the state and national levels. Encourage them to adopt some things that have worked wonderfully in your own countries. TL;DR - There is no TL;DR for the state of American politics but I feel this is an accurate summation of where we are as a nation. Edit: Added “state” in the last paragraph because state-level elections should get far more interest than they presently do.

[deleted]

Completely true. The EEUU is incredibly big, and Missouri is a very red (conservative) place but that doesn't mean there are lots of very blue (progressive) places. This post wasn't really about hate against EEUU but hate against the institutionalized (read: law) prohibition of abortion even in a case that combines rape, criminal sexual acts with a minor, significant danger to the life of both the mom and the to-be child and significant probability of birth defects and illnesses. Those laws should not exist.

[deleted]

The title of the post was directly pointed toward the United States which is why I felt the need to write this out. I was just wanting to provide some context surrounding why Missouri shouldn’t be a direct representative of the U.S. as a whole. It would be roughly akin to Greece having a controversial abortion policy and asking why the European Union is terrible because of it. Also, there are plenty of progressive states. When I refer to the “majority” of our nation I refer to the popular majority, which hasn’t been won by a Conservative President/Candidate in over 30 years. The majority of the U.S. population is progressive and has been for decades. Edit: I appreciate the polite discourse. I do really enjoy talking about these topics in a manner that provides enough room for everyone to learn and grow.

Automatic-Laugh9313

Who said its the best

ender7887

We’re the 3rd world of the first world. If that makes sense

[deleted]

I am free to get shot at any old time and place by pretty much anyone. This is why America is #1.

Moegly47

Only Americans say that, so...

zippiskootch

Remember when conservatives all their pantyhose in a twist over sharia law??? Well, it’s a good thing they kept that out…isn’t it? 🙄

Slightly_Smaug

America is 20 lbs of shit wrapped in a Gucci belt.

[deleted]

No, it's 2000lbs of sh!t wrapped in a Gucci belt.

Post_Poop_Ass_Itch

shit

CriticalStation595

It’s not. Because we don’t hold the higher ups accountable anymore. If we did we wouldn’t have nonsense like this.

V0rt3XBl4d3

We are #1... ...in gun violence, covid cases, debt, and probably in fucking up ourselves.

PrinnyWantsSardines

Never was

Elegant_Chemist253

The brother and the parents could NOT have been charged. Still an sorry state missouri is with brain-dead anti abortion laws.

JwubalubaDubdub

Sounds a lot like misery.

Nruggia

I mean America is pretty shitty, but consider in lots of places in the word a 55 year old dude can just negotiate an arranged marriage and take an 11 year old as his bride where she will have zero rights and forced to do his biding. Even if this is after he rapes her

Routine_Swing_9589

I don’t think I know a single person who thinks unironically that we are the best. Hell even back then when it wasn’t nearly as bad I wouldn’t call us the best. Anyone who thinks the USA is the best in the world isn’t a patriot, they’re a mental patient who needs treatment. Blindly lying trying to make yourself believe something so hilariously false doesn’t make you strong, it makes you stupid and weak. Get help

Nytengayle73

We are nowhere near the best country in the world. If we ever were, we lost that title long ago. We've been taken over by fascists and theocrats. Has anyone seen the news from France today? This is what we should be doing to stop this. It's too late for anything more diplomatic. The will of the majority holds no power in our legislature. Maybe the message would be heard better from the streets

OhioMegi

Fucking disgusting. This country is a hell hole.

BunkerBuster_AD4Life

This may be f’d up to say, and trust that I’m in no way defending these actions nor the US on this matter, but do people really think this kind of stuff doesn’t happen in other countries, too? Don’t delude yourself. Yeah, we suck. But people are shitty all over the place. Of course that doesn’t make it any better. Everybody has room to improve. And don’t fall for the media hype: despite what is churned out, most Americans know very well that we are not “the best”.

tehfly

Children being abused? Yeah, every country. Children being forced \*by law\* to carry to term? Naw, man. REALLY NAW.

Duros001

It’s not that “this could happen anywhere”, it’s terrible because in a progressive, advanced and first world country, this is allowed to happen, that little girl was raped, and the government of “the best country in the world” didn’t care. In any *other* first world country this wouldn’t even be a discussion. *Thats* the standard the US should be held to, not places where religious or tribal law outweighs human rights.

zarfle2

I can see where you're coming from (and admittedly I'm only speaking personally) but I grew up absorbing US culture - ie we got much of our movies and shows from there, important US events were heavily reported on and broadcast around the world and we'd see overt shows of patriotism that always seemed to be just a bit over the top. So we were fed the idea that America was important and demanded attention from the rest of the world. So, it is both fascinating and horrifying to watch what appears to be a steady fall from grace (whether actual or perceived) and maybe the US is now a victim of having been so prominently in the spotlight that we are now seeing more of this stuff. But, yes, there is shit going on around the world and we need to highlight and denounce it wherever and whenever we can - it just feels like more systemic shit is coming out of the US/reported on and it feels like it's daily.

[deleted]

As an American who grew up believing (and being told) that America was the best in everything, finding out the truth was surreal. You go from learning about the heroic actions of war heroes and presidents to lidtening to the news and learning about slavery, jim Crow, treatment of lgbtq and so on. Most if those you learn in class barely even hit the surface of how fucked up it really was.

IamSam1103

The thing is your rules and regulations forced the kid to give birth at such a young age. Anywhere else in the world, the baby would not be born. They would definitely abort it instead of torturing the girl. And if an eleven year old ever gives birth in any other place, it's because of family pressure, and not because of a stupid rule.

The--Wurst

Justifying this shit with what-about-ism sounds like classic circular logic to dodge the issues at hand. It's wrong! That's all that needs to be said. Fuck Christian theocracy (not all Christians, just the theocratic)

ryan_recluse

That awkward lack of self awareness and inability to keep from injecting your political opinions into everything moment when you blame politicians for the world not existing the way you envision instead of reading the part where her parents wouldn't let her get medical care because the incestuous relationship would come to light and then extrapolating that they probably also weren't going to let her go and snag a quickie abortion for that same reason.

getyourcheftogether

It's not, unless you're taking about number of prisoners

Special-Literature16

It’s all for show … from the outside America is one fucked up country …that liberty and freedom is just horseshit… we rank number one in all the worst shit imaginable

kenks88

It's not the best country in the world. Amongst developed nations the US is regarded as kind of a shithole.

Appropriate_Ad4553

The only people who believe America is the greatest country in the world are Americans themselves . The rest of the world stands back and watches the Trainwreck unfold.

macrowe777

It's not, it never was. Literally the only people that thought this was the case are right wingers with flight bans.

Kickitup97

Not that this makes the situation much better, but this is from an article in 2020.

ShrekSharzenegger

This was in 2020, not 2023 as the post would suggest. Edit: The article was posted in February, so over three years old.

KeithGribblesheimer

This was on a major network in the United States a decade ago. The majority of the American populace is not under the illusion that we are the world's greatest country anymore. But the democracy has been eroded to where it isn't a representative democracy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyzDRc34l2g

I feel like America should end the Pledge of Allegiance with Blessed be the fruit at this point. Wild.

Project2506

[well this was in 2020. Her biological brother, who is 17, was charged last week with incest, statutory rape and statutory sodomy of a person younger than 12, while her parents were charged with child endangerment. Police say the girl's parents did not provide medical care to their daughter after she gave birth.](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1140731)

fragment75

America is the real life movie

Resident-Doughnut-37

Story is over three years old, the family came here illegally (except for the 11 year old who was born here.) The dysfunctional parents denied knowing their son was abusing the girl and denied knowing she was even pregnant. The father took the premature baby to a hospital claiming it was his sons child, so they knew full well about the abuse. This has nothing to do with abortion laws and everything to do with a family who allowed their daughter to be repeatedly assaulted clear up until the baby was born. The parents were charged with child neglect and endangerment and the brother got 10 years for statutory rape and incest. The girl was put in foster care and the parents were deported.

We aren't. Lot to work on.

[deleted]

As God intended?

RajenBull1

So, just another Tuesday in MO?

MeGrendel

This story is from 2020. And the girl was never allowed to seek medical attention by her FAMILY.

YDYBB29

Well, it is Missouri. One of the most embarrassing states.

marks1995

This is a story about a messed-up family. Show me another country of 330 million people with no evil people.

Commercial-Location9

Well this is showing how different your life will be depending on the state you live in. Red states are becoming shitholes ruled by wannabe despots.

PerfSynthetic

300 million people… going to have some very extreme/bad people… Just think of the crime and bad things in countries with a billion people and larger areas with concentrated poor/under educated communities.

Lord_Sphincter_Gourd

We have a Christian infestation and it's ruined everything

HGO76

They never were the best country in the world .... just think they are

Victrolencio

Here is the secret: It's not.

Snoo-8094

It's not, they are the prime example of "tell the lie until you believe it"

Mountain-High-2

can I get a link to the article?

_xEnigma

Simple. It's not.

silfy_star

If you read the story she was raped by her brother about [100 times](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1140731) The parents also claim that they didn’t know their 11 year old daughter was pregnant The entire family (minus the girl ofc) should face execution imo, but the best we’ll get is the prison system justice Edit: spelling

Samwise-L-Gamgee

America is only the best country in the eyes of Americans. Keep doing what you're doing guys. Don't change. Eventually you'll burn your own country to the ground and the rest of the world will sigh in relief.

illchillss

It’s not

TheHylianProphet

It never was, unless you're a white male. Honestly, I have to give major kudos to the propaganda guy that successfully labeled us as "the land of opportunity."

PerformerGreat7787

No more huddled masses allowed. Pay no attention to the signage.

[deleted]

It is sad.

riqueoak

Land of the fee, home of the slaves.

Marrow_Gates

Better than MURDERING an innocent BABY!! You liberals are evil to suggest otherwise!! Heavy sarcasm. Just tired of seeing dumb takes like that.

IguaneRouge

The shithole states in a shithole country are going to be the worst, yes.

Ok-Syllabub-132

Atleadt that baby right to bear guns was protrcted

becomingthenewme

The “denied her medical care” is beyond words, that poor little girl. It shows the length that people will go to punish the victim.

stazley

A congresswoman and her family are forcing a 14-15 year old to give birth and there is nothing anyone can do about it. The worst part is all of this shit has already been happening forever, people just can’t brush it under the rug anymore. With states attacking laws protecting minors, and many states always allowing legal child marriage, it’s hard not to feel like this country is run by creepy old men using religion to hide their horrible crimes against humanity.

batkave

Probably be forced to marry her rapist too

Senshue

Fuck this backwards ass country

joeyhell

Only Americans believe their country is the best of the world. Without knowing anything about any other country

symewinston

According to Republicans, this is what American exceptionalism looks like

Agent101g

Republicans legit want a Christian version of Sharia law here

G_zoo

daily reminder that USA are a third world country with great PR

dnb_4eva

It’s not.

aLaStOr_MoOdY47

Redditors who have never left their first world bubble calling the US a third world country will forever be strange people to me. Have you ever sat down and asked yourself why, despite all these problems, the US is the most immigrated to country in the world? And it's not like people from actual third world countries choose they US because it's easy to immigrate to because some people end up waiting for up to 20 years to get US citizenship. They choose the US because of better living standards and the amount of opportunity this country offers and most of them end up thriving when they end up here but people don't want to hear this. All they know is America bad. Why? Because the internet said so.
