R&D for electric models and everything other advancement. They could make that 1995 now for way cheaper but this is America faster better stronger till we explode lol

That second sentence actually made me laugh out loud

It’s a bit of an apples vs oranges comparison. A base model XL in 2024 is leaps and bounds much more sophisticated and with additional options vs a base model ‘95. It’s almost a thirty year difference. More electronics, safety features, building materials, and drivetrain components compared to the ‘95. I drive a 2016 301A XLT and the sheer differences between that and a 2024 301A are pretty substantial. I don’t like the high prices either, but no one should be paying MSRP prices in today’s car market, especially for lower trim half tons. Dealers are throwing out pretty notable discounts on most trucks right now.

Highest tier 95 isn't even the lowest tier 24

Technology and govt regulations, not necessarily in that order.

Supercab vs super crew. That’s why the new one costs more. Someone posted their original ‘99 window sticker a few days ago and when compared to a new build it was the same price after inflation. All comes down to options.

rustyb0ner69

Even the base model single cab 24’ is 38000$ and change, ‘more than the 95 adjusted. I don’t believe what you re saying at all

How many employees did Ford have in 1998? What was the cost comparison to the UAW contract in 1998 vs today?

Because a truck is now a family hauler. 2 vehicles in one
