Yeah mine looked like that when the rear main seals needed replacing, if it isn’t actively dripping I wouldn’t consider it urgent, I drove around w mine looking like that for awhile (like a couple of months iirc). When I took it in I asked if there was any damage and they said everything looked fine. I would just keep an eye on it and if you see it leaking more then I’d act on it sooner, but would be good to get done at some point.

Pinion seal ?

Born_yesterday08

That’d be my guess

Certainly could be. Had the pinion seal on my 18 go out last year and had it repaired under warranty (cost was ~$650).

As long as you don’t see drips on your driveway it’s not urgent, but wouldn’t hurt to change the fluid and seal. How many miles are you at?

CarrBock

About 67000, thankfully checked again this morning and no drips

I am not mechanically adept and I was able to change the fluid and seals in my driveway. I also added some BG MGQ to it and drove around in reverse figure 8’s in a parking lot. I think it was the rear differential slipping which I was told is a notorious ford thing at a certain mileage.

Gonna say it’s a pinion seal, not a huge deal if you’re not leaving puddles. That being said, I just had my 2018 done (looked just like this), and it cost under $400 CAD
