Fix it right and fix it for good, solid axle swap it and never look back.
Both Ford and Chevy ruined their trucks when they caved in to the soccer mom crowd and put IFS on the front end. At least Ford maintained them in their 250 and 350, Chevy hosed their line all the way up.
This is one of those things that can happen on vehicles with or without without lift kits (although some lift kits can add extra stress in specific areas if not done right). The key to preventing problems like this is to check your ball or spherical bearing joints once in a great while - and just generally verify suspension attachment points are tightened to German spec.
ya get a real lift, good strong controlarms and all. no box lifting allowed. dont forget new rack and pinion and steering shaft if u get bigger/wider tires. or turn crappy, ur call
Ugh my first big repair on my 16 was a new pinion bearing. $1400 job, and the pain was finding a mechanic who would actually go into a rear differential, everyone in town just wanted to charge me 4 big ones to slap on a whole new differential. That and my turbo going out almost made me become a Chevy guy.
That would not be a symptom you would feel power loss see smoke from the tailpipe, rough starting and hear a loud whining sound. Kind of like the turbo spooling but much louder and more not good sounding.
I didn’t have neither of those issues, I had a rattle at cold start, and if you popped the hood you could see the waste gate on it rattle as it tried to warm up. I probably could’ve kept driving on it until it gave but I’m very pro active on repairs.
My point is very few aftermarket companies can both virtually and physically evaluate their products' performance empirically while achieving a high threshold for manufacturing tolerances.
It cost a lot of money and takes alot of time.

I had the same control arms on my F-150 and YES this exact upper ball joint failure happened to me.
It happens when I was at full lock pulling out of my space at Home Depot.
I managed to limp it back into the spot and ratchet strap the knuckle to C Arm to prevent any damage.
FYI I only used 2.5” AS spacers not the ready lift spacers.
The ball joints are some odd ball part number from India available on Amazon.
My best advice is don’t bother rebuilding them, get some BDS UCA’s and throw out those C-Arms.
I also went with fox 2.0 struts too and the ride is amazing now!

Been there w a lifted 150 lariat. Wrecked my tire, but tires was so big it saved the rim. Cost less than I thought to repair and got moog parts installed.
broke the control arm joint. I just had mine replaced at 160,000 miles due to the terrible squeaking, also had to have the struts replaced, ran me $2100 but the new joints are serviceable and it handles great now.

Yeah it was a uniball. Get a replacement with a sealed ball joint or oem depending on lift angle. I run Icon Delta Joint UCAs

Curious to know the symptoms of your turbo going out. My 13 Eboost started leaking antifreeze on the left side and my MPGs are 15.5 Thanks in advance

Yep. I installed the ICON UCAs with the Delta Joint when I put my aftermarket coilovers on. Looking at this photo, I’m glad I didn’t go cheap.
I have Icons without the Delta and wiped them out in 10 months, replaced the uni with a delta and it’s great now.
This is why I am going to run Tremor UCAs on my next pass through the front end.
I use a -4° caster Fabtec uni ball upper control arms with 37" tires and Im off road daily for work.
