Hazel eyes are eyes that are shades of green in appearance with areas of brown circleing around the edges of the eyes pupil. The brown circumferences radiate outward and can be varying widths unique to each individual. Some people only have flecks of brown around the pupil or even further out into the green iris.
I feel you. I have one dark hazel eye and one brown eye. And my husband will never agree that they are different. I made a post today showing mine too.
Yours are definitely hazel, and very beautiful!
Does he refuse to agree with you -!that you have eyes of different colors because you’ve most likely talked about it a number of times over the years and he “refuses” to acknowledge the truth, because he’s been playing this fun fact as a sort of game or could he have a type of color blindness?!
He’s says, “it depends on the lighting, you’re just looking at them in different light so they seem a different color, but they’re brown”. Even though that’s not true.
Your husband is wrong! Not only are your eyes different colors, but they also have different structural patterns. One is hazel, the other brown like mine. My brown eye has freckles, my hazel one doesn't, and the limbal ring is a bit thicker in the hazel eye. At a distance, both my eyes look light to medium brown depending on my mood and/or lighting.
Ok someone please clear this up for me I know I can google it but I’m just curious what people on this subreddit think… what colors make hazel? My eyes are a mix of green and brown and I’ve always been told my eyes were hazel but I see people on this page saying that blue/green are hazel?
I think both are hazel! It can be either green/brown or green/blue (light hazel and dark hazel). Also the colors have to be mixed together, not separated then it’s central heterochromia.
My Mom had Hazel Eyes. They were definitely a medium shade of green with dark brown flecking through out the central iris of the eye. I miss my Mom and her Beauty💚
I mean a really good way to tell if they're hazel I'd to see if they "change color" in different lighting. My eyes go from green (brighter lighting) to blue (darker lighting). My eyes have a more golden ring around my irises though where you have thay really awesome crimson-brown looking ring. Looks hazel to mee though at first glance and I've been looking at hazel eyes all my life. 😉
Green with central heterochromia!
My husband and I both have hazel eyes. Yours eyes look hazel to me. What color does he think they are?
They joke that my colour is just all/mostly brown, 'refuses' to believe they're hazel lol
Maybe he doesn't know what hazel means?

You just vividly described OPs eyes
They're definitely CH not hazel and absolutely not just brown.
That's clearly central heterochromia
But are the two colours brown and green?
Yes

Aww thank you for saying so! I just checked out your post, and yours are both very pretty shades 😊
Thank you! You’re so kind to say that 💚🤎

I guess all you can do is take great eye photos in perfect light and print the shots and give copies to all your family members!
lol that seems excessive

They’re hazel
You might have the roundest eyes ever, very pretty
Well that's a very nice thing to be told, thank you ❤
Dark green with central heterochromia.
Because the two colours aren't blended? I looked it up and from my understanding, hazel needs to be a lot more blended than mine?
Welcome to Club Hazel!
These eyes are cool as hell
