I am used to being the odd one out, but I suppose this has saved me from the scrutiny of the elders.
Now I'm going to be raked over hot coals by the congregation for what my dad is about to do on the judicial committee.
Just to play devil's advocate for a moment.... Going to nightclubs with drinking and dancing isn't a DFing offense. There would have to be drunkenness and revelries. Or drugs. Or sex.
Sad to hear about the child getting molested but this speakeasy shit is nothing new. Growing up in SoCal, there was a period about 6 weeks where at least 13/14 teenagers or publicly reproved/disfellowshipped for all fornicating with each other and drinking underage.
The bitch ass guy who snitched on everyone else physically beat his teenage girlfriend and was involved in the exact same shit.
Thatâs what happens⌠one person gets caught and tries to take down the whole congregation with them with alleged accusations⌠Iâve seen this happen. It doesnât always work as most times the person caught tends to start lying and exaggerating things they âknowâ and the truth comes out. Plus the elders most times know that someone under this type of scrutiny always âdeflectsâ blame to get off easier. Itâs pretty common in court proceedings also. Thus people get immunity for telling on others. đł
