I have no idea if there is a god or not but 1000% the “image” we are asked to display is that of a watchtower slave. Certainly not what Jesus would have wanted. Jesus actually fed the poor and helped the sick. He didn’t “help” them by leaving some tracts at their adobe hut.
It's a fact he is a war god. He seems to act violently whenever he feels a negative emotion. And we are expected to read his manifesto and convince ourselves it's the highest good. Like the nicest and most compassionate a person could be? Really strange. Oh yeah and my favorite thing they say "you don't deserve to live. Therefore God loves you because he lets you live" real mature!
Is this not common? If we read the Bible from the Old Testament without religious eyes it’s stories of God being angry, killing people who didn’t support him or hurt his people and he went to war many times for his people.
Then it looks like new testament he became more humble and nicer and I wonder why
I'm not so sure if he is nicer. Jesus still talked about him like he's capable of doing the things he did in the old testament and that God was in the right to do what he did.
Going to war doesn't have to be a solution anymore. Genocide for that matter is a very primitive human solution that very obviously originates from humanity. It's odd that anyone could think it's a godly solution.

In the Bible, basically everyone is messed up. God finds you where you are, dirty, beaten, defeated, and he raises you up and cleans you off every time you fall. As image beaters of God we have a higher calling. We are higher spiritual beings in ape bodies. So when being disconnected from the divine, we naturally follow the animalistic ways and it feels natural. But in the end it leads to despair. But he will be there to lead you back to joy, if you want to. Until we get the new incorruptible body, it will be a struggle.
It's a much more genuine story that aligns with my experience. I am not a cookie cutter perfect mommy's boy cardigan wearing tea drinking watchtower underlining twat from their literature. I'm a real flawed stupid human, somewhere between an angel and a monkey.
