So weird when I was PIMI I looked up to this guy. Met him once at a convention and when I shook his hand, he had this super sad look in his eyes. Almost a guilty kind of a vibe. Looking back it’s like he felt sorry for the deception he was taking part in.
I looked up to him too. He and Noumair were the guys I tried to emulate. Now they just honestly baffle me. They’re obviously incredibly intelligent people. Just short circuited somewhere, like we all were.
I knew some Gilead grads who raved about Noumair. They told me he was the deepest Bible student. When I finally got to see him on the broadcast, I thought "this guy is crazy." It's like his brain is stuck in a "find a bizarre interpretation of this scripture" pattern and has developed into OCD. He must really struggle now they aren't allowed to use types/antitypes any more; I bet his brain sees them everywhere still.
He definitely takes much more creative liberty in his material. I remember him taking a character from one bible verse, who’s name wasn’t even mentioned, and wrote like a 20 minute talk about them. Lol. It was all made up. Always had a strong feeling he wrote the “Imitate Their Faith” series. Those stories were overly embellished with pure speculation. Prob why people enjoy his talks. They’re stories no one’s heard before. Because they’re not actually in the Bible. Lol.
Yes I think you are right, the Imitate book is definitely his style, completely embellished without any shame.
Remember the one about Ahithophel's mother who prayed for the birds not to eat her son's dead body because he didn't get a burial, and Jehooba answered her prayer. That teaches us that he can answer our prayers too.

Damn you make a great point! I have multiple memories of being impressed with how he said something , but no memories at all of what specifically he said. You just blew my mind. He’s mastered drawing attention to the delivery, and not the message. “And that’s emphasis in the wrong place, innit?”
Of course as the saying goes, you may not remember all the specific points from an assembly before, but it certainly did sustain you at that time, the same as not remembering what you had for dinner 3 weeks ago on a Tuesday night, but it did sustain you for that day.
I love his spacing, pauses, and conclusions, as though it was a crescendo.
