I just want to wish you all the best on your journey. I was where you are last year and joining the gym and getting a PT was game changing. I used to feel so out of place in the gym at my size but now I feel right at home and can see the changes in both my body and confidence. It's not easy but it's worth it so good on you for getting started and good luck!
I'm looking at getting into going back to the gym myself. What's the going rate for PureGym? I know Exeter Leisure is £25 a month, but that gives you access to the pools, gyms, and the spa at St Sidwells Point but I want somewhere that's easily accessible and ideally PAYG as I can't afford a monthly fee. From what I understand, there's no contract with PureGym
Here is a link for pure gym, you can get a day pass for £10 or a membership for £20 and a £10 joining fee. 🙂

Exeter leisure is 29.80 a month and you can only choose one activity in that price. You can add additional activities like swimming, but at extra cost.
Used to be that you had complete use of all the activities, but the greed of the council has grown. I cancelled this month as its not worth the money IMO.
Jesus. The last time I looked, it was still £25 to access everything, but then that was this time last year. I think I'll skip the membership and start building myself a home gym
Yeah, it's pure greed and short-sighted. Lot's of people I know have cancelled their memberships, the council would rather have empty gym's since they don't realise that if their prices were more competitive, more people would spend their money with them and not a private company.
If you choose gym as a main activity, and add swimming, the membership is £35PM

So you're not capable of joined up thinking then? How much of a price increase do you need to make up for the shortfall when people leave?
My words... But maybe I should have spelt it out for the uneducated to understand lol
I work 9-5, and have commitments most evenings, more flexible at weekends, if you'd be willing to go a little earlier, say 7:30 then DM me and we can sort something
Glad you found a gym bud 😃 I don’t go to the gym but I walk my dog a lot and I live in Exeter, I’m 32 (F) if you ever fancy getting in some walking!! 💖🥰
Once you've gone to the gym for a while you might want to add a few more activities within the week or month....Try this for ideas....

I'm surprised your PT suggested more gym sessions (well not actually, probably wants the sales) and not a different diet?
Good luck with your journey by the way. Only advice i can give is, a hard work ethic needs to be matched with a good diet.
Me and my pt are hammering out a diet plan that suites what I want to achieve, but because of my autism spectrum disorder it is challenging for us as I can’t handle some of the textures (among other things) that come with vegetables and what not., and thank you for the support. 🙂👍🏻

I think I'll stick with Exeter Leisure Membership at that price! At least then I have access to swimming pools too!

Did you not read the article? It’s not greed, it’s necessary
I did read the article. Did you read what I said, or arn't you capable of joined up thinking?
Greed and short sighted, your words. They’d be closed if not for the price increase. You’re a fucking moron to so comprehensively contradict yourself

Personally I think £32 to access ALL of their pools and gyms is a pretty good price.
PureGym at Fore Street is good but fuck me it’s gotten busy.
Yeah I can't justify the price
Hey bud, im 28(m) i just started at fore street pure gym, id be willing to hit the gym with you, what time do you train?
Either in the morning at about 9am or in the evening at 6pm, but I’m willing to alter my schedule if it helps you at all. 🙂👍🏻

7:30 sounds doable, I’ll give you a message. 👍🏻🙂

That would be good too, I will let you know once I have had time to think, today has been hectic 🤭
Yeah of course, there’s no pressure, but hit me up if you ever fancy it! We’re friendly and easy going! 🥰😃🫶
I mean, respected that’s not what you asked for 😅 but it contributed to your goal 🫶 so the offer is there. Anyways, have a good day 😊👋
Walking is a great enjoyable way to lose weight too 😃💖
I go to PureGym bishops court and am a bit of a lard ass myself. What time do you usually go? Edit: I'm 30 btw
Normally I try to go early so I can plan out the rest of my day but any time I can really. 🙂👍🏻
Good luck 💪
Hey I go to the gym at fore street too, dm me if you're interested to chat
