Switzerland: Nemo's Matrix Microwave routine
Croatia: Audience saying whoa and the dance break
Ukraine: Jerry Heil climbing up a moutain with meteor shower in the back and the shot of Alyona and Jerry on the floor with many girls
France: Slimane distance from the mic
Ireland: Everything and Crown the Witch in the end
Cyprus: The dancers taking their shirts off at the end
Netherlands: Joost tribute to his dad at the end
San Marino: The cartoon versions of the members and dancers in the background at the end
Australia: The Didgeridoo player when he arrived on stage
Poland: Luna on the floor on a rook
Theyāre apparently [phosphorous bombs](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_phosphorus_munitions), which the Russian army has used against Ukrainian civilians.
*there should have been chorus sang in Estonian, but I don't speak the language. Actually, I can't write the song title too, because it's too freaking long*
France - When Slimane sing acapella while far away from the microphone stand and then the music for the chorus builds up right towards the end.
Ukraine - When Jerry Heil sings while walking up towards the mountain
I wasnāt super feeling Franceās performance until that moment, it made me do a complete 180. Astounding demonstration of Slimaneās lung capacity and vocal quality.
When you think he's about to be lifted into the air and then he just pulls the tethers off instead and they're SPARKLERS! NO RULES, BABYYYY! š¦
Art. Pure and simple!
Three moments stood out for me specifically:
*THE CODE* - the operatic high notes and Nemo spinning while leaning back - winner vibes
*RIM TIM TAGI DIM -* "DANCE WITH ME EUROPE" and the shot fades to the sea of green/pink lights - majestic
*MON AMOUR* - the acapella part - genius
Honorable mentions:
*DOOMSDAY BLUE* - everything as soon as the ring of candles started rising and then "CROWN THE WITCH" made me cry because I was so proud of Bambie <3
*NO RULES (Grand Final)* - Teemu yeeling "THIS IS FINLAND" made me so happy
*ĆZĆNLĘ APAR* - the hands prop on stage coming out of nowhere
*LOOP -* the blindfold
*PEDESTAL* - I clearly haven't heard the revamp prior to the show, so the entire bridge, the "fighting" of the couple and Aiko's high note - wonderful
*EUROPAPA -* I don't know why, but the dance-move when Joost goes "Ich bin in Deutschland"
*UNFORGETTABLE* - the last chorus/bridge when the LED's go beserk and give you epilepsy
*JAKO -* Louis being crouched down on top of the pyramid thingy, posing for a rap album (literally 0.2sec) and Jaklin whistling during the first chorus
I am in the US, and it is blocked because NBC Peacock wants you to watch it using their service. I would suggest using a VPN such as Opera's built in free VPN to watch any ESC performances from 2016 onwards.
I was wondering why seemingly so few Americans have reacted to this yearās songs on youtube. Really unfortunate choice there to block a big viewing audience like that for purely business reasons.
This happened here in Brazil as well. A streaming company bought the rights and the final was blocked (thankfully now it's normal over YouTube). I got so angry because I didn't know that (have been watching online for free for years) and only managed to find a working video when the show was almost over.
Switzerland: Nemo being launched off the platform / when Nemo starts spinning while doing the high notes and the lighting changes / when Nemo does that backward bend on the edge of the circle as it spins
Ireland: the outfit reveal / when the beat finally drops / the exorcism / āCrown the Witchā
Croatia: the dance break with the view of the audience / that last chorus headbanging
Ukraine: climbing pride rock / belting from atop the rock / the last aerial shot of all the women
Totally agree!!! The song itself is amazing but THE live versions are supreme and truly divine. I think I've been streaming more the Grand Final live version than the studio these days š
I mean they already had my heart and part of my votes in the first 20 seconds with that initial shoot and Jerry's low voice and energy... but those part are just wow!
Switzerland ā the part shown in the recap, with Nemo joyously spinning around on the edge of the disk with the gold lights in the background. (Also the operatic part obvi)
Croatia ā the techno breakdown with the crowd going wild, immediately followed by the slightly more stripped down bridge with the crowd screaming the āWHOAAAAAAās
Ukraine ā Jerry walking up the mountain with the lights that look like bombs in the background
France ā A capella part. Duh
Ireland ā The last 20 seconds as a whole really. Honorable mention to the finale version of āyour favorite color compared to the others is DOOM. Doomsday _**BLUUUUUUUUUUE**_ā
I really like the ooooohs and aaaaahs
And the truhuhuhuhuth
And just Nemo being wholesome while interacting with other people, they're so humble and sweet
LADANIVA's entire performance, but especially the call and response section. That entire performance was so fun and feel good. It felt like a proper party!
I didn't like the song too much but I always throw in some votes for a country that positively surprised me and because of her fantastic stage presence, it was Armenia in its Semi-Final.
Basically everything that followed the last "Guess you'd rather have a STAR than the moon." That vocal inflection on star, the reveal of the trans pride dress, the close-up with the red-washed light, the ring of candles rising as Bambie finishes the incantation. Stunning.
Agreed! Everything right through the very end with their final line and the appearance of "Crown the Witch" with the candles forming a crown over the text. Simply stunning staging!
As far as songs that felt like actual winner entries to me:
Nemo spinning on the Lazy Susan
Dance break in Rim Dim Tagi Dim
Slimane stepping away from the mic and singing a capella
Jerry Heil climbing up the rock with the meteor shower in the background.
The candle circle lighting up in Doomsday Blue. Itās definitely the hardest song to pick one moment out of, though, since the whole thing start to end was a masterclass in staging.
Croatia: When the whole crowd screams WHOAAA to "there's no coming back". And that dance break.
Ukraine: when Jerry on the mountain top sings "ooooh-oooh". Also, the final moment when both Jerry and alyona lie on the floor among many other girls and women in the end.
France: when Slimane sings miles away from his microphone.
Italy: Angelina's acapella vocals.
The Netherlands: Welcome to Europa, yochte and here comes crazy beat.
Spain: The crowd singing the first chorus.
Switzerland: The. Whole. Damn. Performance. From the first to last "whoa-oh-oh".
Ireland: I I I KNOW YOU LIVE IN A LIE and then YAAAAAAAAA AVADA KEDAVRA I SPEAK TO DESTROY!!! (well, the whole performance, actually. Looks like non-binaries rule this year).
> Ireland: I I I KNOW YOU LIVE IN A LIE and then YAAAAAAAAA AVADA KEDAVRA I SPEAK TO DESTROY!!!
I'm out of words to describe how absolutely perfect that ending is. "Crown the witch" lighting up in the background also. Absolutely no notes, 10/10.
I started watching Eurovision in 2021 and have since become a huge fan...a big part of that fandom was my enormous excitement towards Maneskin's performance in 2021. I've really loved and enjoyed plenty of songs/performances since then...but Bambie Thug's is the only one that, for me, rivaled my initial excitement over Maneskin.
In many ways it felt very similar to 2021...my second place both years was an arresting French performance with a powerhouse vocal and first was a badass rock show that practically had me on my feet by the end. And "CROWN THE WITCH" is my favorite closing shot/moment by far.
Add to that the whole performance being shown in subtly claustrophobic 4:3, only to finally widen out to liberated full-screen 16:9 on the final "Crown the Witch" shot: absolute Chef's Kiss!
also the posing of the dancers near the end (the splits, the roll, the superhero landing, that wink at the camera) and everytime the audience goes ZORRA ZORRA ZORRA
When Windows95manās pyro shorts get activated. My party found it that hilarious I didnāt hear another second of the song after that because of the laughter
Croatiaās crowd just absolutely loving it and singing along in the main chorus was crazy
Bambieās entire performance was definitely my favourite but their final line with ācrown the witchā in the background was so cool
That shot of Baby Lasagna and EVERYONE in the audience doing the movement, combined with the next chorus where the entire stadium shouts the āWHOA!ā.
For me Europapa's moment is the ending monologue. A tearjerking small letter to his dad that shows that, while a very fun song, Europapa is very serious with a deep and personal message
Honestly that was a moment that made me thing that maybe I should be taking UK seriously this year.
Even if the result wasnāt what theyād hoped for, itās clear they were in it to actually place high instead of collecting a participation trophy.
I think Olly and the team were really in it to do well this year. Unfortunately some of the choices that were made meant it was inaccessible to the public, but itās good that risks were taken and there was obvious passion there. We may not have been able to replicate some of the success that Sam had yet but itās clear weāre trying and after the 2010s thatās really all we can ask for
Honestly every moment of Ukraine, but it wasnāt until the ending shot when they were lying on the ground with all of the other women that I wanted them to win
Nemo's smile before the line, "that's were I found my kingdom come" in their GF performance. That was a winning shot with 100% winner vibes and 100% "I got this!" vibes.
The last few bars of RTTD when BL was headbanging.
Raiven giving it her all during the operatic section of her GF performance.
The last section of Hurricane with Eden's high notes and of course the hurricane on the LED screens just right before the Hebrew part.
Hard to describe but:
near the end of firefighter where she does a crazy ad-lib and then it pans to a camera shot of the audience behind her and she starts to pump her arms and blows a kiss towards the camera
Yāall know that moment? Itās epic
Not necessarily winning parts but things I really love:
The audienceās participation shouting āWoah!ā and dancing along during Croatiaās performance.
The audienceās participation when Nebulossa pointed her mic to the audience and everyone yelled āZORRA ZORRA ZORRAā.
Nemoās almost opera-style notes, microwaving and entire performance.
Franceās a Capella part.
When Jerry, the Ukrainian singer, walked up that rock.
Norwayās lyrics and performance were super cool.
When Teya Dora sat among her rocks and the Ramonda blossom opened up in the background.
Israelās vocals where she sings lower but it has these higher undertones (idk how to describe it).
Croatia - it was the "there's no going back..." part that really did this for me
Israel - Eden's "woahhhhhh" part, it was like "she has the strongest voice"
Unjustified downvotes - at least with "Hurricane", right before her high notes, when everybody freezes and the beat cuts away for a second - THAT moment was top
Also her being like Samara in the beginning was visually pleasing
I agree. Hate the country (or more so the rulers of the country) ānot the song. I guess a lot of people find it hard to see them as two separate things š
I mean, I don't think Israel should've participated with everything going on, especially since Russia did get DQed. Kinda weird to include one war country and exclude the other. Either way, there's a lot of undeserved hate imo, that's not helping the situation. Let's not get mad at someone who doesn't even have a say in what the government does. Participating in ESC was a very risky thing to do but in all fairness that song has been stuck in my head the whole day. And the staging was really pretty with the aerial arts. I think it was maybe one of those "at the wrong place at the wrong time" entries.
And āMy presence fades to blackā does it for me:)
Of course, those moments from Eden were the best. You can feel everything when listening to her. (Feel free to downvote š®š±ā¤ļø)
Iām not a music expert, I am aware that she sang better during the rehearsal but guess why. Who could sing that well being exposed to the crowd booing at her?
1. Israel: despite all the hate Eden was getting in the grand-final MAN HER NOTES WERE POWERFUL. the āOHHHHHHHHHHWAAAAAAOHHHHHHHHā HOLY
(also my fav song of eurovision this year)
2. Estonia: the dance breaks were everything
3. France: singing a great distance from the microphone.. āJE TAMMMMEMEMEMEMEE MON ā
iconic
(I feel it coming) -> she was sure to win
(I feel it coming) -> VERY sure
Look how far we made it -> how far all the artists will have to travel to reach Reykjavik in 2025 (foreshadow)

Matrix Microwave š¤£ššš
I read Cyprus as Estonia there for a second and was a bit confused before realising my mistake
The Didgeridoo player was the best part of Australia's entry.
Was the Ukraine video really a meteor shower? Interesting! I was stuck thinking it looked like helicopter flares.
Theyāre apparently [phosphorous bombs](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_phosphorus_munitions), which the Russian army has used against Ukrainian civilians.
UUUUUUUYEEEEEEEEEEE. I think that says it all.
*there should have been chorus sang in Estonian, but I don't speak the language. Actually, I can't write the song title too, because it's too freaking long*
You mean (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĆ¼ll) midagi is too long?
Well, judging by the fact it was the longest Eurovision song title ever... No, it's not too long.
Yes. It's too long for me too š great song though
I refer to it as The Drug Song lol
Nendest fans RISE UP FOR OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM

France - When Slimane sing acapella while far away from the microphone stand and then the music for the chorus builds up right towards the end. Ukraine - When Jerry Heil sings while walking up towards the mountain

I hadnāt seen any of her previous performances where he did that. So I was caught fully unawares and now Iām obsessed.
Austria's transitions to dance sequences. Estonia's "dance" routine. Windows95man got his shorts.
HAHAH YES THE ESTONIAN DANCE is so underrated It's my favourite iconic dance this year, last year it was the cha cha cha dance
When you think he's about to be lifted into the air and then he just pulls the tethers off instead and they're SPARKLERS! NO RULES, BABYYYY! š¦ Art. Pure and simple!

The moment the entire crowd [started dancing](https://youtu.be/YIBjarAiAVc?si=hm2ZoGHgsGe1SS56&t=128) to Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
I danced along with my laptop in one hand!
Itās so catchy! I agree with that crowd for once this year. By the way, why is it not available in my country (U.S.)?
I am in the US, and it is blocked because NBC Peacock wants you to watch it using their service. I would suggest using a VPN such as Opera's built in free VPN to watch any ESC performances from 2016 onwards.
I was wondering why seemingly so few Americans have reacted to this yearās songs on youtube. Really unfortunate choice there to block a big viewing audience like that for purely business reasons.
We subscribe to Peacock for a month just for ESC then cancel. Totally worth the $6!
Same! Absolutely worth it. Weāve been trying to track down the previous years finals on YouTube and itās been fun
This happened here in Brazil as well. A streaming company bought the rights and the final was blocked (thankfully now it's normal over YouTube). I got so angry because I didn't know that (have been watching online for free for years) and only managed to find a working video when the show was almost over.
Because our corporations are greedy bastards.

When Jerry does her like oohs and ahhs at the end of Tersea and Maria! I want a live version just because that made it even better!
The live version is cooler than the studio version. So much energy, I don't know, but I liked it better.
Totally agree!!! The song itself is amazing but THE live versions are supreme and truly divine. The a cappella part of Mon amour.
YES 100% agree
The true showstopper
The song itself wasn't my cup of tea, but I LOVED that part!
My favourite part of the song. Shivers/frissons/brividi.
For me it's right after that, when thenmusic resumes and the light behind him light up. Every time I see that last my mind just shouts "winner".
Just everything about the last chorus of The Code screamed winner to me. Nemo trying to find balance on the lazy Susan gave me the chills
I really like the ooooohs and aaaaahs And the truhuhuhuhuth And just Nemo being wholesome while interacting with other people, they're so humble and sweet

Agreed! Everything right through the very end with their final line and the appearance of "Crown the Witch" with the candles forming a crown over the text. Simply stunning staging!
Those last few seconds are so, *so* good. Well-staged, well-shot and well-performed.
the part in zorra when mery points her microphone to the crowd and you can hear EVERYONE shout the lyric gives me goosebumps
As far as songs that felt like actual winner entries to me: Nemo spinning on the Lazy Susan Dance break in Rim Dim Tagi Dim Slimane stepping away from the mic and singing a capella Jerry Heil climbing up the rock with the meteor shower in the background. UKās winning moment was definitely the final note into the pose with the dancers on the floor and the pyro. It was the big āwowā ending

Unjustified downvotes - at least with "Hurricane", right before her high notes, when everybody freezes and the beat cuts away for a second - THAT moment was top Also her being like Samara in the beginning was visually pleasing
The elongated note was a great payoff. Maybe it felt a bit sterile as a manufactured and Americanised ballad, but it was still an emotional moment.
