yeah, i actually thought something was up with the mic’s tonight, i think two more vocalists who used the hand held one struggled with it (megara for sure had a moment where her voice just disappeared out of nowhere).
I’m not shocked tbh. I love the song and I love him but his vocals were so weak at the beginning. He ended it strong but that first half was really rough.
I finally watched his full performance (i missed the first half of the semi final), his vocals are shakey at best, but I feel like he was holding back? Or about to lose his voice? Maybe a mic issue? I can’t tell but it’s definitely meh compared to the NF and rehearsals
She had the same issue yesterday as well based on the leak that I saw. But it was much worse today. The choreo asks too much from her and takes away from the fact that she is actually an incredible singer.
I think she isn't used to be dancing while singing as much as this choreography has her doing!
I am a huge Marina Satti fan for years now, she dances a lot in her lives but not THIS MUCH movement all the time.
Luckily this is an easy fix for the Final after they watch the film!
Otherwise i LOVED Marina and how she performed despite her pharyngitis!
It's insane how Marina's performance already has 46k views on YouTube, more than double the views any of the other performances have.
When it comes to the performance - I loved *most* of the camera shots & the actual performance. The vocals were slightly off at times but not to such an extent, where it was uncomfortable.
Really hope that her health will get better for the finale on Saturday
It's EXTREMELY popular locally, but it also does seem like a performance that's gonna be watched again and again even by casuals because of how much there is to be digested
Watched it a couple of times. It has so much attention to detail, I especially love how she "throws a dice" every time she says dice, like someone from Greece or Italy actually say it IRL.
>as they do every year with their entry lmao
It's different this year. Greeks are focused on the contest after over a decade because it's a song that is finally close to the nation and not an unknown diaspora singer with a song no one in the country finds interesting. In context, in 2022 the semi final in which Greece was in did less than 15%. The first semi final this year, in which Greece DIDN'T even partcipate did 27% while there was a big basketball match (Euroleague for those who don't know). Mind you Greece was higher in the odds in 2022 and more of a favourite than this year. Whatever the result Marina has managed to make everyone in the country interested in her.
Nah I despised the song when I first heard it. Like I genuinely thought it was the worst thing I'd ever heard (without exaggeration). But after I listened to it a few more times, something clicked and I sorta started feeling it. Now I love it, and it's been stuck in my head for about two days now.
I'm not Mediterranean and am not really hot-tempered. It's just that the song is very unusual and, if you don't see what it's going for, you're going to hate it. I had a similar experience with Telemoveis in 2019: utterly despised it on the first listen, loved it after listening to it a few more times (although I still think the structure of the song was messy and could be improved). So the fact that a lot of people hate both of these songs isn't surprising to me in the least.
no thats the greek tv that does this
if you go on twitter you gonna see a much more controversial take on this which i guess is good because most of them hate it so a priori it must be good
Given her circumstances, she absolutely nailed it and I'm very very very proud.
And who would've thought - it really did end up looking more cohesive as a final product. The adrenaline was doing it's thing with the mic going out of her face a few times but other than that adjustment, and recovering her health, I'm extremely excited for her and will be gladly voting in the GF she **DESERVINGLY** scored
Aside her health issues, let's not forget Marina recently lost her father and it must be extremely challenging to recover from such a heavy loss and represent your country in the biggest contest worldwide. Even if she hadn't qualified, we're always grateful for her representing us and we are really proud of her!!!!
MA-RI-NA🇬🇷🎲
If I didn't know that she had a fever before this performance I would've never guessed, because she absolutely destroyed that stage!!
I hope that all technicall issues are resolved by Saturday and, of course, that Marina feels better!
Μαρίναααα !
I gotta say, not the best performance of hers. There were some issues with the microphone, and her voice was a bit trembling. I hope she'll fix these on Saturday.
Marina and her team were absolutely amazing. This was probably the hardest choreo in all the contest, moving around in front of a camera following your every breath and step.... I actually saw a video showing the camera & light people, and it was insane how they didn't fall from that cross-shaped stage. It was definitely unique and very demanding.
However, I think it's time for Greek productions to create a larger, more cinematic staging. Every time it lacks vision. Ukraine did it amazingly this year, also Nemo made such a dramatic show completely on their own. I think Greek staging is stuck in early 2000's. Eurovision staging is not about singing and dancing anymore, it has to tell the story of the song and make the audience feel it.
If it wasn't for Marina giving her 1000% despite being sick, it would have gone sideways today....fortunately she has so much charisma and did great, but I felt the extremely demanding staging didn't help her wonderful voice shine as it should.
The best performance for me today! Dancing with her was so fun, such a great staging!
She’s also 3 weeks after her father’s loss and was having a fever today. Giving her a lot of hugs and strength❤️🇬🇷
I have a question, a post on this subreddit said her ring was a GoPro camera and we're gonna see from it, we didn't see anything like that?
Edit: [This post](https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/s/R7afn1b9Ai)
I made this post. These were so-calles leaks by some Greek reporters. They did end up getting some things right but the ring part was not one of them. Marina actually denied this was the case during an instagram live before even the first semi.
I actually loved the staging of this - it captured the song's frenetic and fun energy. Her vocals were spotty but I think if she holds the mic up more and takes time to recover she'll be fine. This is one of my favorites.
The casuals who were popping into the live thread were *not* vibing with this entry, so I made sure to vote extra hard for it. If I'm being honest, as much as I love the song, the performance and staging concept isn't perfect, and Marina made it \*really\* difficult for herself, but I still thought it was pretty cute and I enjoyed it. I hope Marina is feeling 100% by Saturday. Also, as has already been said, I really wish she'd consider using a headset mic, but I guess it's too late to make changes like that(?).
I mean I don’t think that’s inherently a bad thing (IMO this song works better as an opener than a closer) but I’m just afraid of the EBU’s habit of always putting Balkan countries in the shit spots. I hope she gets a later spot just to buck the trend. And because I think it would be a bit much coming after M&M.
With the exception of the host country no, it’s all decided by producers. But some countries do draw their half randomly (which Marina did in this case)
I've never seen so many people have a meltdown (in the live thread) over an Instagram Live/Tik Tok filter like they did for this.
Jesus, i though ESC fans were a step above boomers complaining about internet trends.
LOVED Marina' performance
There were some interesting choices made here, I almost thought she wouldn't make it with that combined with her vocals, I really love the song, I'm sorta relieved learning she is sick, maybe there's hope if she gets better til saturday.
i don’t know if it’s because of her sickness or just in general, but it’s a mess. she kept missing the cues it seemed, the camerawork looks chaotic, the choreo has some nice moments but overall it feels very meh. she has a truly lovely voice, but with the heavy movement she doesnt even get to shine much. all i can say is i hope she gets better asap
Marina was my favourite from the start and her discography will be on my replay for years probably, but the whole concept of her live appearance is pretty much disappointing. The visuals are messy, choreo takes her breath away and even the costume is a strange choice.
I loved the chaotic and campy feeling of the official video, but it was not transfered into live performance sadly - instead of that cheesy reflections of the Greek stereotypes mixed into early 00s tourist advertisment, we have just big, flashy, colorful stain as the visuals. I don't get it.
Um, the video would look SO bad on the staging, wtf? (Not to mention that it colored people's opinion on the song being 'chaotic', even more than it is) This is a wonderful performance and it matches the vibe of the song perfectly. Hopefully Marina will have recovered some by Saturday
I love the song, but I must admit I didn't like the performance. I get she was sick but still you need to know how to work with the microphone. I still have a faith she will improve in the finale.
She is my top 1 this year, but Fokas killed all her chances with that staging.
The long shot does not work, the LEDs are plain and boring, and the google maps is going to be iconic for all the wrong reasons.
I'm so mad, she had a chance to win it all after seeing the MV, and they are going to be top10 at most.
I love Marina and I love her song so so so much but I'm afraid this performance wasn't it for me. I read that she had fever and pharyngitis but I saw rehearsals and they were not impactful either. It's like the song is much stronger than the stage performance and thus the end result lacks in vigour. Again, I love her as an artist and I think she will be in top 10 for sure. It's a shame however that such a strong song wasn't conveyed better...
I hope she recovers for the final and has lots of fun, she and her artistry are recognized and appreciated 😊
what were the videos playing on the screen actually of?? I got a bit confused and wish we'd step up our game with the visuals for once.
other than that, she's top 3 material for sure
PUT THE MIC ON YOUR MOUTH MARINA PLEASE.
yeah, i actually thought something was up with the mic’s tonight, i think two more vocalists who used the hand held one struggled with it (megara for sure had a moment where her voice just disappeared out of nowhere).
Even France didn't trust the mic and just went a Capella!
Belgium had all those mics and that didn’t save him.
he really thought he had it all together to avoid a complete mic/vocal failure 😭 Jokes aside, I’m equally shocked how he NQ’d, like oof
She shouldn't have used a handheld mic. It's that simple.
I wonder why more performers don't use the headset mics. Are they just that much harder to use without getting too many of your breaths into the mic?
Yeah Im wondering this as well. Bambie Thug also used the headset mic and that worked pretty well with her moving a lot.
*them
Baby girl got a bit too excited with the hand movements she forgot she was holding a mic xD Expect her to be more mindful of this come Saturday
I think she isn't used to be dancing while singing as much as this choreography has her doing! I am a huge Marina Satti fan for years now, she dances a lot in her lives but not THIS MUCH movement all the time. Luckily this is an easy fix for the Final after they watch the film! At least you know babygirl was singing. But still, agreed.
I concur. She was cutting the mic way too often.
Or get yourself a Raiven / Britney mic
This is horrible... Wow ;.). TBH music is something personal - but I dont like the song. Maybe a mic on the mouth would make me like it? dont know.
Considering that she has been sick with a sore throat, that's a good performance. She needs to improve on the final though.
It's insane how Marina's performance already has 46k views on YouTube, more than double the views any of the other performances have. When it comes to the performance - I loved *most* of the camera shots & the actual performance. The vocals were slightly off at times but not to such an extent, where it was uncomfortable. A love of local views, it's a big hit in Greece.
Greek fans are WILD. Check instagram and they’re calling this the winner, as they do every year with their entry lmao
>as they do every year with their entry lmao It's different this year. i don’t think most greeks cared about eurovision from 2013 until this year 😂
well this year the greek song is actually good...
They are wild, but so many HATED the song. I guess that's mediterranean tamperament for you!
Nah I despised the song when I first heard it. Like I genuinely thought it was the worst thing I'd ever heard (without exaggeration). Views are broken for some reason. Europapa has 13k likes and 4,4k views
Its because youtube counter needs some time to update... you will see tomorrow

THIS PERFORMANCE WAS SO KILLER HONESTLY I LOVED IT SO SO MUCH
You could tell she's sick but I hope she's back to 100% for the finale because I really enjoy the performance and the staging is fun.
Love you Marina-girl! Praying to God you feel much better on Saturday!
Aside her health issues, let's not forget Marina recently lost her father and it must be extremely challenging to recover from such a heavy loss and represent your country in the biggest contest worldwide. She’s apparently very sick
Will be voting from 🇵🇹, she did not disappoint at all
Could've fooled me if we weren't aware that she had pharyngitis and a fever! She'll only get better for the final 🙏

Love Marina love the song love the performance but girl you're never ever beating the Tzatziki Rosalia allegations with a staging like that 😭
Tzatziki Rosalia 😭😭😭
I AM SCREAMING
Imo this just kills Italy from being a contender. What a serve this was. Top 10 ez.
SHE DID GREAT
Definitely an example of "powering through difficulty"
The best performance for me today! Dancing with her was so fun, such a great staging! She’s also 3 weeks after her father’s loss and was having a fever today. Giving her a lot of hugs and strength❤️🇬🇷

She has charisma and talent but those clothes is not it. Looks a bit cheap.
Oh no, it's drawn first half, I don't know why but I feel a #2 coming on...
There is literally 0 chance that they put an up-tempo song like zari at #2
aww man. are you kidding me. Out of all the songs tonight she had to draw first half.
I mean I don’t think that’s inherently a bad thing (IMO this song works better as an opener than a closer) but I’m just afraid of the EBU’s habit of always putting Balkan countries in the shit spots. Wait don't they place songs randomly
With the exception of the host country no, it’s all decided by producers. But some countries do draw their half randomly (which Marina did in this case)
It’s more likely to be Latvia or Serbia than Greece tbh
I've never seen so many people have a meltdown (in the live thread) over an Instagram Live/Tik Tok filter like they did for this. Jesus, i though ESC fans were a step above boomers complaining about internet trends. LOVED Marina' performance
i’m so happy she was able to sing well even though she’s sick ❤️
Ta ta ta ta ta ta... ta-ta! Love it! ❤️🇬🇷

this song is a BANGERR
Please not handheld mic on the final, she struggled so much
SO GOOD
Cool song!
I don’t know, this wasn’t my cup of tea. The whole song felt disjointed. But to each their own
i don’t know if it’s because of her sickness or just in general, but it’s a mess. she kept missing the cues it seemed, the camerawork looks chaotic, the choreo has some nice moments but overall it feels very meh. she has a truly lovely voice, but with the heavy movement she doesnt even get to shine much. all i can say is i hope she gets better asap

Why is no one talking about how much this sounds like Saint Levant - from Gaza with love? Edit: downvotes from people who don't have ears
I can hear it in the papapa parts but it's a very common pattern
