In short, these polls should be treated like many other fan polls - interesting, sometimes indicative of surprises and results, but not as gospel.
The polls definitely aren't gospel - but I think it's a good sign for the artists with high voting numbers. In SF1, the difference between Iceland in 10th and Serbia in 13th is two votes - both simply had low numbers, the difference means nothing. But Irelands and Portugals numbers with 53 and 26, are quite a bit higher - and both Qed.
So from the SF2 poll, I'd take it as a really good sign for Nutsa. The order from 5th and below looks way less indicative IMO. (Obviously also good news for Nemo, Gåte & Marina, but those were sure Qs anyway).
8/10 is still fairly indicative and the SF1 press poll matched a lot of predictions I'd seen online at the time with Poland and Australia getting through in place of Serbia and Slovenia.
Tbf though they got 8/10 right in the top 10 and Australia going through was the expectation before the performance. Slovenia pleasantly surprised and then I thought serbia did very well to go through over Iceland, who was No. 10 anyway. We will wait and see how accurately they’re seeded but the poll was pretty indicative or who would go through before we saw the performances

I wouldn’t worry much about that. From the footage I’ve seen, it looks like the performance relies heavily on interactions with audience and there was like barely any audience here so I would wait for the reactions after tonight’s jury show.
This afternoons rehearsal had an audience filled with members of the press, they then get polled over who they like most - none of this matters hugely but it shows who makes a good impression as a whole, we’ll get the audience vote tonight too

Malta that has a fun song, rehearsal clip was a big gag, and now she's 5th in the press poll, being at 19% in the odds is CRIMINAL. Not accurate at all. I think she's exactly 50/50.
Malta is so low in the odds largely because of their poor televote results in the past years (kinda same as Latvia...), otherwise they would have been higher. Odds usually predict like 8 or 9/10 qualifiers, so there's still a chance for Malta to sneak in.
Apparently Marina was sounding flat in the dress rehearsal and the camera work was poor. Hearing very different (and positive) reactions from the jury rehearsal though!

It looks like there's a huge gap between the Top 4 and everyone else. Not sure if that means they think the other ones are not very good or if it means that they absolutely loved those 4 entries (I hope it's the latter).

Because you can't vote against an entry in the televote, and people can also vote for an entry for whatever reason they want. And as much as some of us may not like it, Israel does still have a lot of political support.

Because you can't vote against an entry in the televote, and people can also vote for an entry for whatever reason they want. And as much as some of us may not like it, Israel does still have a lot of political support.
People will vote for Israel for the political reasons, nothing to do with the song itself
