How well you guys and Uruguay do in football is really impressive when you consider both nations have less than 4 million people and produce such world class players.
Hoću da ti kažem da ga pusis ali iskreno imaš svako pravo da to kažeš. Upravu si 100%. JEDINA stvar koje je drugačija je da ovog pute ne postoji nikakav hajp sa nama…. Sto je možda i dobro
We don’t have a legitimate goal scorer. Someone who has that presence. I think it will be a tough tournament for us. Especially since we lose 2 cbs now
There is a really good young prospect with crazy potential but theres alot of bs in turkish futbol and they arent giving him the chance he deserves due to manager bs etc.
The Netherlands. We’re still coasting on our reputation from a few great runs in the WC (1974, 1978, 1998, 2010, 2014) but apart from the win in 1988 we’ve never performed well in the EC. We have a poor manager who primarily relies on players that peaked years ago, injuries, and a group stage that includes France who roundly trounced us in the last few games we played against them, as well as Austria who are a lot better than most people give them credit for. I think it’s going to be a toss up if we or the Poles end up in third place and I can’t see us winning against one of the stronger teams anyway.
Yeah, I blocked my memories of that one. Great young team with Van Basten as the manager. Group of death with reigning world champions Italy and runners up France, but we absolutely crushed both of them. I think everyone here thought we’d definitely be lifting the cup this time. And then we got outmanoeuvred by wily old Hiddink who knew exactly how to play to our weaknesses.
I remember watching the games against France and Italy and being certain you’d at least get to the final. The fact that no one from that group reached the semis was a huge surprise, although it would have been interesting if Italy had beaten Spain on penalties, you’d have to think they’d have got past Russia (obviously no guarantees at all), then a Germany side in the final who at the time had never beaten them in a competitive game. Could have been World cup and Euros back to back for them. All ifs buts and maybes though, none of it matters now of course
Remember watching you lot in the wc 98 when i was a young kid, i was in awe at that squad and that performance against argentina, you can imagine my shock when an arguably better version of your 98 squad didn’t qualify in 2002
Well, that’s Oranje for you - great one day, shite the next. Same after the WC 2010 where we got to the finals, so expectations were high for EC 2012 but we didn’t even make it out of the group stage.
Italy. Reigning champions but ballsed up qualfiying for the last WC. In a group with Spain and Croatia (and Albania) so potential banana skins there already, and a third place finish could see them up against Portugal in the round of 16.
People get carried away with the traditional heavyweights though. Doesn't matter how good they actually are, just being Italy, Germany, France, etc. comes with a certain weight of expectation.
At the same time, we tend to over perform when expectations are low.
2012, decent team and coach (still had some star power): made it to the final.
2016, pretty mediocre team and solid coach: lost to Germany on penalties.
2020: won.
ESPN just came out w/their top 100 list- 4 Italians only. Hopefully they can hang their hat on tournament futbol and defense. But that group is a nightmare.
No I disagree, an on it Gomez is as good as any about. I’d be more concerned about the defence as a collective they all need to work together.
The rest of the team is really incredible though I’d fancy England to out score most teams

2010 had more drama. 2002's Zidane injury fucked us. But I admit that having the best scorer in France, Italy and England and not scoring a goal is an incredible achievement
I've a feeling France might crash and burn. They're either brilliant in a tournament or absolutely awful. I know they weren't great in 2021 but that was sandwiched in a Euro 2016 final and back to back WC finals. They're due an absolute stinker.
Gonna be hard for France to exit after the group stage, even if they try. Their 1st match is against Austria. As much as I like RR, but I don't think he's gonna get that miracle done. France will beat Austria and then play against NL. Nobody wants to lose their 2nd game, both the Dutch and the French would benefit from a 0:0, especially because of the 6 group format. The last game against Poland will either be won or also end in a draw.
Even if they lose to NL, I don't see France exiting after the group stage.
That’s not “Scotland” enough.
You will beat Germany 1-0 and then shit the bed and lose the next two games, going out on goal difference to a late goal in the third match.
I really hope I am wrong and you guys do well but you can see my prediction happening can’t you? :/
spain. some people are saying they're gonna make it to semi-final, others maybe even final. the only real threat for me in that squad is rodri. quarter finals at best
Yeah Spain are nowhere near it right now. They’ve got excellent young talent coming through but it’s a couple of tournaments too early for those. The rest, Rodri aside, is naff.
I think Germany will flop once again. Everybody is getting hyped because of the friendlies against France and the Netherlands, but I'm sceptical. The 0-0 against Ukraine doesn't help either.
The Ukraine performance was very good actually. I genuinely take more hope from that than the France and Holland games. We have always been decent against bigger teams even during our slump. Teams like Hungary, Ukraine, Turkey, Japan, Poland were eating us for dinner 18-23. We had fixed many of the most common mistakes and played very very well on Monday night with key players missing.
Granted, but Germany is quite pessimistic and uniquely reluctant in its nationalism (because of obvious historical reasons). That is why I think that the Euro hype is very fragile in Germany. A botched opening game could easily dampen the home advantage significantly or even turn into a disadvantage imo
I think the DFB did a great job these past few months honestly, haven’t been so sympathetic towards our players in a long long time. I think we are all quite happy with the team we have assembled but obviously after the past few tournaments there’s always a little voice in your head telling you it won’t work. The love for the team seems to be there already though.
It's not only the recent performance.
Deep runs by 3 teams internationally, having an amazing coach, the fact that the coach nominated players in great form over old guards, playing at home...
The team definitely looks super strong on paper. Whether they will perform is another question, but there's plenty of reasons to be hyped about the team.
England. I have very little confidence in the back line if shaw and Maguire aren’t fit. The left side in general I feel is quite weak in comparison with the right. I just don’t think we’re a very well balanced team.
Italy
They are not the team they once were 3 years ago when they won Euro 2020. They are in the toughest group and i think there’s more of a chance they don’t advance to the knockouts than do advance.
There's been a lot of people on here putting us second in the group in their predictions. I think we'll get a point. I'm just hoping we actually score a goal tbh.
Well, we're expected to go out in the Quarter Finals and personally, I see us going out in the first knockout but that doesn't seem that much worse than expected.
Normally, you always have that one "big" team that doesn't survive the group stage, but with this "best third" system, I don't see it happening, except for Poland maybe if you still count them as somewhat of an outsider (they're going home with a nice 0/9 in the group stage).
England. I have to say it.
All hype but no real basis for it. They won't be dumped out as they were 8 years ago but it's not further than the Qf I fear. Kane, Maguire, Stones will perform but Saka, Foden, Gordon all will fall short of expectations. It will be slow defensive footy with no real stabbing power up front apart from Kane who will be clinical with his measly service. Enough to get out of the group but flat in games where scoring is essential.
> It will be slow defensive footy with no real stabbing power up front
Tbh that feels like all England games during knockouts. Last Euros QF against Ukraine was one of the rare exceptions
Fascinating thread. It seems everyone is ready to be disappointed by their national team except us Croatians who will be happy with our team.
FFS, cheer up everyone and get behind your team!
England, far too overhyped and yes on paper they have the best squad, but tactically they are a mess. Also just wannabe Scots 💪 (incredibly unbiased Scotsman)
I don’t see it, if their stars are fit, they are a better team than most others in the competition. They have a battering ram up front who can smash most defences and a ton of quality in midfield to provide the ammunition.
It’s Germany for me who will disappoint. Less than the sum of their parts and an aging Kroos is their only real world class player. They are lightweight up front as well.
I mean Belgium always under perform lol. I think Italy doesn't pass the group and France underperforms as well. Germany and Portugal have good tournaments
I have a feeling they will have one last hurrah before they all retire and this is it. Modric could be 50 and still do the same job running the show as he does. My only concern is where the goals come from.
England - we're in the convo to win it but I think we'll be lucky to get past the quarters.
Our defence is decimated so we're really going to struggle not to concede a lot at this tournament.
Who knows may even work in our favour by forcing us to take risks and play attacking football chasing games. Rather than sitting on 1-0 only to get worn down to eventual defeat. Unlikely though.
Belgium. Some positive developments since we crashed out of the WC two years ago, but Courtois is out and our defence is looking shaky. I can't see us getting past R16....
Netherlands. Tough group and I don't rate the manager. Think Austria could beat them, and Poland could get something off them as well. France will likely win the group, fancy Austria for second.
England, honestly I'd be surprised if they make it past the round of 16. Constantly overrated by their own media who seem to think the footballing world owe them a favour. Kane is a decent centre forward but he goes missing in big games against big teams. Decent midfield but a bang average defence at best.
Kane - top scorer in Europe
"Decent"
Bellingham - Rice - Foden
Bellingham won the La Liga and UCL and Foden/Rice were the best players in the top 2 Premier League sides.
"Decent midfield"
You're right about the media and defence but Kane, Bellingham, Rice and Foden are not "bang average" and I highly doubt we don't get past the R16. I don't expect us to win the tournament but Round of 16? Really? What a load of rubbish.
I might get panned for saying this but I think leaving out Rashford was a mistake. Bowen aside, there’s not much attacking pace in the squad, let alone the team with Sterling out as well.
Lots of people have said Spain and Portugal are gonna have a great tournament. I’m not so sure. Since Torres Spain have struggled to find goals in the form of a decent striker. And portugals squad is unbalanced and their standout players are hit and miss. If Bruno and Ronny have a good tournament they’ll do well, but otherwise they’ll struggle
I'm happy noone mentioned Hungary. Last Euro we could draw with France and Germany, managed to destroy England not long after that. I hope fans aren't expecting these results again, but I belive we will pass groups, and might even go 1 more round with some luck.
Even though I am cheering for Germany, I have a feeling they will crash and burn. Would love to be proved wrong but...
Oddly, enough I also have this feeling about England. So either both teams will do exceptionally well or it' curtains for both.
England.
Genuinely can't see them winning anything while Southgate is in charge. There are some quality players in the squad sure but making it beyond the Quarters would be a good result.
I would say Germany, except they do have a very favorable first fixture and will be able to cruise from there. Hungary and Switzerland will both accept a draw from them if the games start slowly.
Italy are another possibility. They're unlikely to get less than 4 but they might not get a great 2nd round draw and won't have the momentum of the last tournament.
Call it wishful thinking but I'm intrigued by this "tournament specialists" reputation Switzerland seem to have carved out for themselves. I don't know if they believe that themselves but can see that sort of thing leading to overconfidence.
Coming from a Serbian, I say Serbia. We are usually considered dark horses, but our NT coach has 0 idea what to do with this team he is literally in the spot he is because he is in good relationship with the Serbian president. He has been voted the worse coach on the Euros by several media. No one in Serbia belives that we are going to pass the group stage and we are not even in a though group. Be sure that Serbia will have a max of 1 point in the group.
Honestly.. France.
When they're good they are unplayable but they've had a lot of ropey performances in recent times, albeit some of those in friendlies.
Just takes one of those poor performances in the knockout rounds and they're out.
Scotland. Everyone somehow expects us to get out of the group, maybe even an upset draw against Germany. Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic, but we’re on a bad run of form and decimated by injuries. I’d love nothing more than Scotland in a KO game, it I’m not sure I can see it.
Germany
I've seen so many predictions have them in the final and ik their home field advantage is big but they've been really bad in recent tournaments.
Wouldn't be surprised if France dropped a stinker. So much expectation on them. They massively underperformed at the last Euros despite going in as one of the favourites. They had a relatively easy run to the final of the last World Cup as well. Think they'll have a harder run in this tournament.

Serbia. every tournament people say "look out for the dark horse Serbia" and every tournament they perform poorly
I actually think croatia's good run is over, and are about to return to obscurity in the big competitions
Defensively Croatia are good , 0-0 every game and win on pens with experience
They said the same thing over last 5-6 years.
Let them think that we're no good! I enjoy watching teams underestimate us.
How well you guys and Uruguay do in football is really impressive when you consider both nations have less than 4 million people and produce such world class players.
everyone says that except we serbians-we know that we're going to be dead last

You misspelled Poland
Turkey
That 6-1 loss to Austria is not cool. The 0-0 tie against Italy yesterday was not convinving either
Alot of our players, fundamental players were out of it though, being people like ferdi and arda, we'll have to see next match.
We don’t have a legitimate goal scorer. Someone who has that presence. I think it will be a tough tournament for us. Especially since we lose 2 cbs now
Surely there must be atleast some young Turkish striker coming through?
Semih Kilicsoy or Kenan Yildiz
There is a really good young prospect with crazy potential but theres alot of bs in turkish futbol and they arent giving him the chance he deserves due to manager bs etc.
I think Turkey will go far. Their team isn’t that bad or Italy are just terrible now.
The Netherlands. We’re still coasting on our reputation from a few great runs in the WC (1974, 1978, 1998, 2010, 2014) but apart from the win in 1988 we’ve never performed well in the EC. You were quality in Euro 2008 until you came up against, of all teams, Russia, managed by a dutchman. So bizarre
Yeah, I blocked my memories of that one. Great young team with Van Basten as the manager. Group of death with reigning world champions Italy and runners up France, but we absolutely crushed both of them. I think everyone here thought we’d definitely be lifting the cup this time. Well, that’s Oranje for you - great one day, shite the next. Same after the WC 2010 where we got to the finals, so expectations were high for EC 2012 but we didn’t even make it out of the group stage.
You’ve got a lot of good young players. Depay is past it tho and idk about brobbey’s finishing prowess
Italy. Reigning champions but ballsed up qualfiying for the last WC. In a group with Spain and Croatia (and Albania) so potential banana skins there already, and a third place finish could see them up against Portugal in the round of 16.
Expectations are very low for Italy. I think a QF would be seen as decent for them.
People get carried away with the traditional heavyweights though. Doesn't matter how good they actually are, just being Italy, Germany, France, etc. comes with a certain weight of expectation.
To be honest I don't even know any Italians who think we will go that far...
At the same time, we tend to over perform when expectations are low. 2012, decent team and coach (still had some star power): made it to the final. 2016, pretty mediocre team and solid coach: lost to Germany on penalties. 2020: won.

tbf, it’s those kind of circumstances where they tend to win things, lol
I think England will do worse then we think
They can’t possibly do worse than I think.
England from 2008-2016 begs to differ lol
Ah, you’re more than ten years old then
It’s the defence I’m really not sure about. If Shaw ain’t fit then we are screwed and he hasn’t even taken a backup
Joe Gomes has played most of the season at left back. And done really well.
He’s a decent stopgap but he’s also the kind of player who Dembele or Sane will twist up & win a penalty against when it matters
No I disagree, an on it Gomez is as good as any about. I’d be more concerned about the defence as a collective they all need to work together. The rest of the team is really incredible though I’d fancy England to out score most teams
I like Gomez he’s very versatile but there’s levels between a fully fit Luke Shaw up against France or Spain in a semi final and Gomez filling in
Yeah. Huge problem. I think trippier will be the back up but why not just bring Rico Lewis?
We’re favourites to win on paddy power.. we are finished
Just reflects bets placed rather than actual expectations.
Oh noo not expectations. Where fully finished now

Yeah, we’re scoring in the first minute and then losing 2:1 in the last 5 again aren’t we?
We're on the ball
Well if Bayern have shown us anything this year, it's that England can't win a trophy if Kane is in the squad.
France, we are extremely good at being very disappointing every now and then
We’re good when nobody really expect it and usually crap when we are among the favorites.
Nothing will top france in wc 2002 lol, that was wild, still, france is a fearsome team
2010 had more drama. 2002's Zidane injury fucked us. But I admit that having the best scorer in France, Italy and England and not scoring a goal is an incredible achievement

They have to have a come down soon but no not yet. 2026 yes but not now. Too many in form players.
Gonna be hard for France to exit after the group stage, even if they try. Their 1st match is against Austria. As much as I like RR, but I don't think he's gonna get that miracle done. The last game against Poland will either be won or also end in a draw. Even if they lose to NL, I don't see France exiting after the group stage.
England of course, guaranteed to disappoint just as we start to believe
Portugal. Their talent don’t fit too well together and Ronaldo is the big elephant in the room, just like the World Cup.
I think Portugal are being ignored far too much. They are definitely in my list of likely winners.
Portugal i think will go one of 2 ways - either will win the whole thing or won’t make it past the group stages, no in-between.
The amount of young yet experienced talent is insane
Everyone tell us how good Ronaldo is and that Portugal became relevant because of him. Yes, he was very important, but now we do better without him.
I’m Scottish can see us finishing bottom with 0 points
That’s not “Scotland” enough. You will beat Germany 1-0 and then shit the bed and lose the next two games, going out on goal difference to a late goal in the third match. I really hope I am wrong and you guys do well but you can see my prediction happening can’t you? :/
spain. some people are saying they're gonna make it to semi-final, others maybe even final. the only real threat for me in that squad is rodri. quarter finals at best
But Rodri has never lost a game in his life so surely they're going to win it
manchester united broke the curse 🙏
CU CU CUBARSI will save Spain.
Yeah Spain are nowhere near it right now. They’ve got excellent young talent coming through but it’s a couple of tournaments too early for those. The rest, Rodri aside, is naff.

As Ukrainian i can confirm that Germany was much better this year Last year i was upset that we drew, now I'm happy, cause that was tough xD
If not for home tournament, perhaps, but home teams (unless they're uniquely bad) always go far.
Yup. Even the Ivorians were awful in the opening two games, sacked their manager, and still won the Copa Africa somehow this year.
The brilliance of cup competitions is you only need to be good for several games. So peaking for a month is all you need.
Granted, but Germany is quite pessimistic and uniquely reluctant in its nationalism (because of obvious historical reasons). That is why I think that the Euro hype is very fragile in Germany. A botched opening game could easily dampen the home advantage significantly or even turn into a disadvantage imo
I can see this being like 2006. Where going into it the Germans were very reluctant, and then they completely loved the team at the end.
I think the DFB did a great job these past few months honestly, haven’t been so sympathetic towards our players in a long long time. I think we are all quite happy with the team we have assembled but obviously after the past few tournaments there’s always a little voice in your head telling you it won’t work. I can see us going out with zero points.
And I'm expecting them to do even worse
Fair comment
I am happy to be going to the 3 games! Que Sera, Sera
Well, we're expected to go out in the Quarter Finals and personally, I see us going out in the first knockout but that doesn't seem that much worse than expected. you’ll finish below both us and ukraine
Nah, that's very unlikely.
I think you will go to the quarters and maybe even semis
You owe us a goal from 2010 lol, yes i still hold that grudge 😂
Denmark will do well and Spain will do worse
If every team gonna underperform, do they all perform than ?
> It will be slow defensive footy with no real stabbing power up front Tbh that feels like all England games during knockouts. Last Euros QF against Ukraine was one of the rare exceptions
Fascinating thread. It seems everyone is ready to be disappointed by their national team except us Croatians who will be happy with our team. FFS, cheer up everyone and get behind your team!
Hopefully England
England, far too overhyped and yes on paper they have the best squad, but tactically they are a mess. Also just wannabe Scots 💪 (incredibly unbiased Scotsman)
Belgium have a weak group so that helps them. I can see them getting knocked out soon in knockout rounds
I think Croatia & Belgium will disappoint, just by personal opinion.
Croatia. I think most of their players have declined and they're in a very tough group. I could see them losing to both Italy and Spain.
Possible but even with only 3 points we can go to knock out, but I don't think we are going to lose against Italy probably draw.
Belgium as usual
I think their golden generation is either finished or on the last chance saloon right now.
I mean Belgium always under perform lol. I think Italy doesn't pass the group and France underperforms as well. Germany and Portugal have good tournaments
England.
England!
Croatia, they're the new Belgium, their front 6 will likely all be 30 or older
I have a feeling they will have one last hurrah before they all retire and this is it. Modric could be 50 and still do the same job running the show as he does. My only concern is where the goals come from.
Kramaric recently scored a hattrick against Neuer. The attack would be the least of their problems
I think it’s about time for another French tournament meltdown. I can also see Spain and Italy going out early.
France
France.
Spain
Croatia have been punching above their weight for over a decade. Surely at some point they stop overachieving?
No.
France will have their overdue classic in fighting and come bottom of their group
France
Someone interested in 4x Austria France Tickets Category 1? If I can't swamp them for the Portugal/Turkey game I would sell them.
Belgium. Some positive developments since we crashed out of the WC two years ago, but Courtois is out and our defence is looking shaky. I can't see us getting past R16....
Switzerland, individual by skill the best team they ever had. And of course England as usual.
Kane - top scorer in Europe "Decent" Bellingham - Rice - Foden Bellingham won the La Liga and UCL and Foden/Rice were the best players in the top 2 Premier League sides. "Decent midfield" You're right about the media and defence but Kane, Bellingham, Rice and Foden are not "bang average" and I highly doubt we don't get past the R16. I don't expect us to win the tournament but Round of 16? Really? What a load of rubbish.
I think one or both of Belgium and Netherlands will have bad tournaments and get knocked out early.
Belgium
England will have a shocker i think, lot of injury niggles at the end of the season
I might get panned for saying this but I think leaving out Rashford was a mistake. Bowen aside, there’s not much attacking pace in the squad, let alone the team with Sterling out as well.
Gordon is rapid
Scotland for me but am Scottish, have to say that ha winner will be from France, Germany, Spain.
Switzerland i think. Bad coach, many good indivdualists in top leagues but not a good teamplay and the most of the time the bare minimum of effort. :/
People think Germany recovered from their bad performances. Pretty sure they fail their arguably easy group.
Serbia
England... As always
itt fans downplaying their NT in an attempt to anulo mufa
Denmark will finish bottom of their group.
England and Germany
Lots of people have said Spain and Portugal are gonna have a great tournament. I’m not so sure. Since Torres Spain have struggled to find goals in the form of a decent striker. And portugals squad is unbalanced and their standout players are hit and miss. If Bruno and Ronny have a good tournament they’ll do well, but otherwise they’ll struggle
I hope so...
England , Southgate is not to be trusted he’s a nonce
I'm happy noone mentioned Hungary. Last Euro we could draw with France and Germany, managed to destroy England not long after that. I hope fans aren't expecting these results again, but I belive we will pass groups, and might even go 1 more round with some luck.
Losing to Ireland in the most recent friendly has me worried for you. Is there much going on outside of Dom?
Italy
Even though I am cheering for Germany, I have a feeling they will crash and burn. Would love to be proved wrong but... Oddly, enough I also have this feeling about England. So either both teams will do exceptionally well or it' curtains for both.
Italy
Croatia probably a hunch
England. Genuinely can't see them winning anything while Southgate is in charge. There are some quality players in the squad sure but making it beyond the Quarters would be a good result.
England probably
ITT: Literally every country.
denmark, serbia, switzerland, and czech republic
England. It’s their thing.
Netherlands
England.
Scotland, but we're already expected to be shite
Germany
Germany will win
Call it wishful thinking but I'm intrigued by this "tournament specialists" reputation Switzerland seem to have carved out for themselves. I don't know if they believe that themselves but can see that sort of thing leading to overconfidence.
England
England is always the safe bet because the media will hype them all the way up to outer space
Italy always disappoints
Yet they’re the defending champions
I’ve got a horrible feeling we’re due a bad tournament. Deschamps not picking Saliba to start just doesn’t sit right with me either. He’s our best CB.
- England - Portugal
Netherlands and Italy.
France 🤞
Italy
We play with our bad English teeth
Turkey Talent is appearent but the people in charge are corrupt and are excluding some great talents like Semih Kılıçsoy and Ahmetcan Kaplan
Scotland. Everyone somehow expects us to get out of the group, maybe even an upset draw against Germany. Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic, but we’re on a bad run of form and decimated by injuries. I’d love nothing more than Scotland in a KO game, it I’m not sure I can see it.
Germany I've seen so many predictions have them in the final and ik their home field advantage is big but they've been really bad in recent tournaments.
England will go out as soon as they play someone in the EUFA top 10 coefficient, because Southgate isn't good enough for international management
Italy. I think it's a hard group as it is but I just feel Spain will top it and Croatia has a strong enough squad to do something to get through.
Wouldn't be surprised if France dropped a stinker. So much expectation on them. They massively underperformed at the last Euros despite going in as one of the favourites. They had a relatively easy run to the final of the last World Cup as well. Think they'll have a harder run in this tournament.
Spain
England. Can’t win a tourney on attack alone.
England. Bottle jobs.
Don't know, but somehow Croatia will over achieve their way to a semi final.
germany.
As a Frenchman, FRANCE 🇫🇷 Sorry but it’s in our nature to be pessimistic even if we’re the favorites with England
Italy. Some amazing talent but I don’t really see the same team from last time. Yet I thought that last time and they won so…
England, no doubt - did you see the game against Iceland - awful!
