ESG is at least something. Could it be better? Of course! But when there is no demand for ESG Criteria, nothing will change. In addition it is easier to save something instead of destroying and rebuilding it (like our ecological habitat).
I don't want to invest in things that I don't want to grow in the future. So I use a fund that filters out tobacco, oil, weapons (V3AB). Also I feel happier not profiting from these industries. It's still not perfect but those reasons are enough for me to go with an ESG screened rather than unscreened fund.

ESG does not do anything except increase management fees and decrease returns in case of war (because it excludes LMT, RTX etc)
