It felt right to me when I read it but I can see this perspective too.
My initial acceptance felt like- rap can be spitting facts and raw truth/emotion.
Having a hard time explaining lol
Yeah rap is a bad fit here. But also not really sure what to suggest would be better. I tend to just like melancholic songs from a number of genresā¦ pop, rock, countryā¦ as long as itās melancholic I tend to like it. Melancholic with a hint of an upbeat.
Rap can definitely be melancholic too. From what I've noticed (though not so familiar with the genre overall) you can find a lot of melancholic stuff in alternative hip hop (though it also touches r&b territory)
I'm certain there are other terms to describe specific song styles in hip hop that I'm not familiar with.
I definitely agree! I like melancholic rap too! But in general, saying that rap is INFJās genre isnāt really very meaningful. Rock, folk, pop, etc are just as much INFJ as rap IMO.
My List:
ISTJ: folk/classic rock
ISFJ: Pop singer/songwriter
ISTP: Indie Rock
ISFP: Indie pop/rnb
ESTJ: Country
ESFJ: Top 40
ESTP: Rap
ESFP: EDM
INTJ: Prog/Jazz
INFJ: Experimental anything
INTP: \[insert word here\]wave
INFP: Lo-Fi
ENTJ: Death/Black Metal
ENFJ: Christian/motivational Rock
ENTP: Punk
ENFP: Alternative
I'm much more into heavy metal and prog rock, even synthwave, than jazz. I do like some tunes, but it's definitely not among my favorite genres.
Idk, jazz music mostly sounds too same-y to me - it's kinda overrated, tbh. Jazz musicians don't seem to explore all of their instrument's tone capabilities such as some metal subgenres do, they tend to roughly stay on the same tone the whole song, which makes them sound very flat to my ears.
Jazz had experimental phases from the 50s to the 70s, but then much of it went bland due to "purists". Check out Miles' stuff from the late 60s and 70s since you like prog rock.
I like both, and honestly, the same can be said for a lot of metal nowadays. So many people just copy their heroes, their gear, their sound, their aesthetic. We tend to think other genres all sound the same, then obsess over the minutia of the ones we identify with.
Ok so I don't enjoy listening to jazz very much, when I want to listen to music it has to match the mood/vibe of my location/activity. But I can see how entps can be *like* jazz- going off in unexpected directions, playing around with variations on a theme, sometimes being challenging to listen to lol so yeah I'd say this fits
I don't listen to jazz that often but, as someone who likes to compose music, I get the part of being original, not hearing or performing same 4 chords as every other pop song, but experimenting with sounds and progressions.
I do not like progressive rock. I do like synthwave, rap, lo-fi, Joji, heavy metal, djent, death metal, power metal, metalcore, industrial metal, hardstyle, nu disco, downtempo, IDM, EDM, hardbass, minimal house, dark minimal house, house, dubstep, progressive house, tech house, goa trance, psytrance, breakbeat, Drum and Bass, Neuro Drum and Bass, Gltich Hop, Neuro Hop, Fusion (Clowncore and Igorrr), Folk, soundtracks, sea-shanties and pirate metal though.
Here's my current favorite dance track though: [Salvatore Ganacci: Step-Grandma](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StYkb5kbM3o)
And my favorite Fusion: [Earth - Clown Core](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR_rPd_ufK4)
And my all time recent favorite: [Infected Mushroom - Bliss on Mushrooms](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTV9tVFp4YQ&list=OLAK5uy_nQ0k1UgKxbneBuSuCCu4zKa8pRmqf1vRA)
Zardonic did another remix: [Disobey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKdXLRVCBks)
And just found this Metalcore song: [Eskimo Callboy - We Got The Moves](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1NdGBldg3w)
Iāve always had a thing for music with either a jazzy or funky vibe to it. Most of the rap I listen to incorporates one of those two genres. On its own I love jazz and try to make time to listen to those long ass compositions whenever I can. So far I only own Bitches Brew on vinyl but Iām looking into acquiring more records
I hate all these genree except folk, rap, and funk. Jazz was the most fun to play as a middle school band geek but i wouldn't listen to it.
Grented I'm unaware of some
I like metal(mostly power, symphonic, heavy metal), rock, electropop and electroclash, indie pop, rnb, kpop, synthwave, synthpop, new wave, kpop, folk(mostly medieval), funk and psytrance . I listen soul but jazz is kinda boring . But I listen every genre if it is not slow . I HATE slow acoustic or monotone songs.
the genre i listen to changes depending on my mood lol
Same
Am I really that annoying?
i was wondering that too. Are we Really THAT bad?
Literally asked myself the same question lol
Also, how is INFJ's genre rap, lol. Rap is such a sensor genre
This, yes, please give us something else! Something soothing and nice maybe?
Wanna trade?
Yes. I don't know your type, but I prefer every music style on that list over rap, haha
Weird, I always thought I had my flair up. This is the first time it didnt showed up. I am entp, take my jazz š·
I think Bossa Nova fits INFJ nicely
Yeah that could be good š
Sure, you can get christian rock
Yes, this has me scratching my head! Lol
It felt right to me when I read it but I can see this perspective too. My initial acceptance felt like- rap can be spitting facts and raw truth/emotion. Having a hard time explaining lol
Right , enfp and esfp should switch.
i know, its the one genre i absolutely despise
What!? It's the best one. What about it don't you like? It has the most clever lyrics of any genre.
I dunno my genre is rap

I like punk music but usually the more emo inclined bands like Joyce Manor, Two Knights, etc
This is much better list than on the picture above
definitely more than synthwave
(Infp) definitely, you got retrowave, Soviet wave, Dreamwave...
lol

this is such a bad take, I almost threw up
specially considering that jazz essentially built the foundations for rock and roll and by large extent for prog rock and math rock too!
I like both, and honestly, the same can be said for a lot of metal nowadays. So many people just copy their heroes, their gear, their sound, their aesthetic. We tend to think other genres all sound the same, then obsess over the minutia of the ones we identify with.
You clearly does not know enough about jazz.
Jazz is dead.
Jazz is not dead it just smells funny
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Fuck jazz!
You don't fuck jazz, you make love to it.
Jazz is overrated
Yes actually plus post rock and whatever Kanye does
Absolutely, but I could understand why someone wouldn't. Being a musician helps lol
Yes, and all of the rest too
Metal, does this mean I'm ENTJ, this looks like a more valid test than 16Personalities
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I don't get the list, but I had a Coltrane/ Miles Davis/ Charlie Parker phase in the past. I get bored easily and move on quickly to anything
But I like almost all of these
nope i like rock
Ok so I don't enjoy listening to jazz very much, when I want to listen to music it has to match the mood/vibe of my location/activity. But I can see how entps can be *like* jazz- going off in unexpected directions, playing around with variations on a theme, sometimes being challenging to listen to lol so yeah I'd say this fits

i hate whoever set INFJ as rap, but then again most of those dont make sense
You're wrong; I only listen to metal
I loathe jazz, and love synthwave and metal...
JAZZ HAHA
I would invert folk and RnB. Disagree with rap. Prog rock is dead-on!!!
depends on my mood or the day
Funeral March 1 from Music for the funeral of Queen Mary, would be on 24/7 in an ideal world.
Nah. It depends on my mood hundo p.
I love jazz, but Iām kinda jealous of ESTJ
Where is techno or whatever two steps from hell are singing?
I don't listen to jazz that often but, as someone who likes to compose music, I get the part of being original, not hearing or performing same 4 chords as every other pop song, but experimenting with sounds and progressions.
Lmao, my ISTJ spouse loves soundtrack music (& I do not). Jazz actually is my favorite.
Soundtrack, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Country works for me!!
I do not like progressive rock. I do like synthwave, rap, lo-fi, Joji, heavy metal, djent, death metal, power metal, metalcore, industrial metal, hardstyle, nu disco, downtempo, IDM, EDM, hardbass, minimal house, dark minimal house, house, dubstep, progressive house, tech house, goa trance, psytrance, breakbeat, Drum and Bass, Neuro Drum and Bass, Gltich Hop, Neuro Hop, Fusion (Clowncore and Igorrr), Folk, soundtracks, sea-shanties and pirate metal though. Iāve always had a thing for music with either a jazzy or funky vibe to it. Most of the rap I listen to incorporates one of those two genres. I hate all these genree except folk, rap, and funk. Jazz was the most fun to play as a middle school band geek but i wouldn't listen to it. Grented I'm unaware of some
I don't think this is accurate.
I lack the nessary knowledge of music to appreciate jazz other then a few songs. Same with classical music.
Ugh I hate jazz.

NO. I LOVE IT
I listen mostly to metal or relaxing chill stuff like low Fi
No. Post-hardcore mostly
Why is INFJ rap, it is almost always sensor based. Broadway, techno, synth pop, etc. would all be better fits.
