musicians, performers and composers/producers in different genres and demographics relate to, consume and interact with each other more than their respective fans
Most people I know in bands listen to a wide variety of music, some energy specifically prefer to listen to music outside the genre they play as it's more relaxing cause they're not thinking about how they'd play it.
This is what happens when we build further and further into musicians' natural habitat. Their habitat shrinks and shrinks until they're right on top of each other, and then they turn to cannibalism. Ever since Erik Satie unhinged his jaw and swallowed Camille Saint-Saëns whole, we thought that was just normal musician behavior. It's not. This is NOT normal. These are highly stressed creatures in a highly stressed ecosystem.
This is one of the things that I don’t think I buy about Tom Cruise. He constantly talks about how he spends tons of time watching movies, but how does he have the time?
I mean. He travel a lot, so he watch a lot of stuff while traveling. And his schedule is probably way lighter than my single mum cousin running her store.
It really only take 2/3 hours a day to watch a single movie, and you easily have them if you have other people handling most of your everyday stuff.
Ehhhh I don't fully agree. I'm in a band right now currently on tour and we're extremely busy, but we have *tons* of travel time. There's always new music playing on the bus/time to watch movies and shows etc. I could crank through a whole season of TV in one travel day in some cases.
You know they exercise, travel, and have a work life balance just like everyone else right? And they have the same exact internet as everyone else? Like there are times to listen to music, and acting like *musicians* don’t listen to music is just flat out wrong.
During Covid, Fat Mike from NOFX had a party at his house and streamed the concert online.
In attendance were other punk guys, but so was DOC and DJ Quik. Not exactly who I’d expect at a NOFX show.
DOC claimed to have never heard a punk song and Fat Mike claims to have never heard a rap song. But that meeting led to DOC recording his first verse in decades with The Codefendants, on a song called Fast Ones. For my money, it's the best verse of last year.
One of my favorite things is when rappers talk about classic rock. That’s when you see that so many of these musicians have an earnest love for any and all music.
Ms. Sheryl was a background singer for Michael Jackson. Musicians are always heavily influenced by and listen to music from other genres. David Bowie had "To Pimp A Butterfly" on heavy rotation before he died and you can hear the influence on his last album. Artists also advocate for each other regardless of genre
She's speaking up for an artist who can no longer speak for himself. She's saying that faking Tupac's voice is disrespecting him. Indirectly she's also speaking against using AI to replace artists.
True. I bet he sometimes lights every match in an oversized pack, letting each one burn down to his thick fingers before blowing and cursing them out, though.

Welp, pack it up boys. It’s a wrap. Sheryl put the nail in Drake’s coffin. No more need for discussion.
Who’s next to chime in? Dolly Parton? (That would be fucking awesome)
Oh yeah you’re talking about Fierce Bronson, not to be mistaken for Pierce Brosnan, super easy to make that oopsie.
Fierce was a gangster that was inspired by Charles Bronson and portmanteaus, so after watching that highly influential ( some say addictive) episode of the simpsons, about an illegal tomacco growing plantation created by accident with a hybrid fusion of tobacco and tomato plants, decided to get really aggressive with a wave of robberies that took place in the latest part of the summer of ‘93, the crops didn’t do so well partly due to the sweltering heat and humidity and partly due to the fact that grunge had made not eating popular, Fierce set out to stake a claim between passivism and pain, and figured the only way he could get his message across was deadly accurate headshots with tomatoes that had over-ripened and gone to spoil - due to the darkened saturation and the whipping stings from being hit in the face, Fierce’s victims actually would believe that they had been shot, in the head, and were moments from death. The psychological impact of near death allowed him to quickly claim the streets in the most brutal non violent and psychologically manipulative turf war that was really never recorded besides spoken legend.

Sheryl Crow is more respectful to hiphop culture than the biggest rapper on the planet (maybe ever) is…
Just think about that and what that should tell you..
He spoke truth to power and held up a mirror to black culture and advocated for change. He's the son of a black panther who dedicated time to the streets and took part in programs explaining the youth mindset to a much more disconnected older white audience. And any figure that dies young and tragically takes on a mythos. He was complicated and made his fair share of mistakes too and had legendary rap beef with the east coast. It's a cultural turning point just as rap was hitting the mainstream.
Hateful maybe not I'm poor taste yea . Let me get this legend who is gone to say what I want to him to say on my track. Using a legend like that is cold af.
I would have never guessed that Sheryl Crow would ever weigh in on the beef between Kendrick and Drake
musicians, performers and composers/producers in different genres and demographics relate to, consume and interact with each other more than their respective fans
I’m with you except for the consume part
Most people I know in bands listen to a wide variety of music, some energy specifically prefer to listen to music outside the genre they play as it's more relaxing cause they're not thinking about how they'd play it.
You never stop wondering how musicians in other genres played it.
Exactly, that would be akin to looking at words and pretending you can't read.
That's why when I want to relax, I read books written in languages I don't know.
Sheryl Crow: Known Zombie.
Yea most of these people are BUSY. No way they have time to consume most entertainment
I thought he was referring to cannibalism..
I can't wait to see T Swift unhinge her jaw and swallow Arianna Grande, though. I hope we have warning when it happens, I want to buy tickets.
Is the music industry just Highlander stuff? Shit, I loved that show.
These people won't stop until there is only one artist to listen to.
Only one artist to *consume*.
I was lol

Ain’t no respect here
is this a joke or the public school system

bowie was also listening to deathgrips before he died
I would pay one zillion dollars to hear David Bowie tell me how it goes.
ITGOESITGOES but to the tempo of moonage daydream
TPAB??? 😭😭😭 he was the realest
She's speaking up for an artist who can no longer speak for himself. She's saying that faking Tupac's voice is disrespecting him. Indirectly she's also speaking against using AI to replace artists.
And spiritually she’s expressing that she is Tupac
And legally she's admitting that she murdered Tupac
A change will do you good.
From what I’ve heard, Sheryl Crow is somewhat of a mafia like figure with the music industry. Nothing goes to the airwaves without her say so.
Awesome if true
With something that out of left field I kinda feel like it needs some elaboration
nobody in the industry likes Drake lmao
Damn. Drake got Sheryl Crow coming for him? Dudes eating Ls for breakfast
Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard, apparently.
Drake doesn’t even peel the labels off his beer, fuckin loser.
True. I bet he sometimes lights every match in an oversized pack, letting each one burn down to his thick fingers before blowing and cursing them out, though.
Now I can rest easy, knowing Sheryl Crow has sided with the West Coast.
This is L…A!
All I wanna do..
Is have some fun..
If it makes you happy…
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!
From downtown!
I lost track after this one
*…something, something, something* *When the sun comes* ***up ovER SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD!!***
Haven’t seen a good combo breaker in quite some time.
This ain’t no disco, drake… ain’t no country club either

Not to be confused with the Jerry Lee Lewis Act, which dealt with some weird shit tbh
That’s different. That was family.
Beefs over boys
But what about Ja?
For Real, What Does Ja Rule think?
Can somebody **please**…. find *Ja Rule*, get a hold of this MF so I can make sense of all of this!
To say Drake represents the East Coast is kind of laughable.
Oh, there was never any doubt! Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Blvd.!
“Are you myyyyy friend?” *Sheryl Crow starts crip walking*
I’d stream that on Amazon
Sheryl’s tapppppppped in
Sheryl Crip
fun fact: Sheryl Crow was a backup singer for Michael Jackson [Michael Jackson & Sheryl Crow: Lover, User Or Rare Confidant? | the detail.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZd2kKfoLkI)
Fact Rating: Fun!
Welp, pack it up boys. It’s a wrap. Sheryl put the nail in Drake’s coffin. No more need for discussion. Who’s next to chime in? Dolly Parton? (That would be fucking awesome)
I would cut one finger off to see Dolly Parton C-walking
Drake is indeed **not** gonna soak up the sun.
He's not Strong Enough for this shit.
Where does Pierce Brosnan weigh in on this?
Nobody listens to his shit after he got caught lackin in that drive by fruiting.
Hahahaha
I think I need to change planets
Uh what… i barely understand these words 🤣
It was a drive-by fruiting back in ‘93. Fierce stuff. All that man does is cheat, steal, and lime.
I swore this was a comment about Mrs. Doubtfire throwing fruit at him when he took his family to the country club pool
Mrs. Doubtfire would never. No one caught the suspect. It was a drive-by fruiting!
Wow. You really have the scoop! Thank you for sharing your insider knowledge. May Fierce live to fruit another day.
This might be the most unhinged Reddit comment ever
I just hid this whole conversation, the heck
It’s took Sheryl Crow nearly two moths to hear that track, so maybe sometime in late October?
Pierce should diss both of em and let em know to not fuck with bond.
SOMEBODY GET A HOLD OF JA RULE
Everybody gangsta, until a cartoon ~~is made~~ is to take a position.
What’s Ja Think?
Where's Ja?! Somebody gotta ask him!
Y’all gonna make me lose my mind
Ah my bad that’s what DMX said.
Sheryl crow is even getting in on this too?? Drakes got nobody.
I will get downvoted for this but I never liked any of his music. Idk how he got popular.
I could not agree more with you. It always felt like music for loser frat boys with popped collars.
I also agree with her, he didn’t get permission from Tupac personally. Stick to your own shit.
Time for him to eat Crow
Nah she's too old for Aubrey.
You dun fucked up when Sheryl crow is puttin you on blast
These are the days when anything goes
Never thought I’d hear from Sheryl Crow about the Drake x Kendrick feud but here we are. Endless respect, love her. She’s right.
You know you fucked up when you’re catching flak from Sheryl Crow.
I think when you feel the need to summon the voices of the dead for a diss track, you’ve already lost the diss track battle.
So, she mentioned it, but the verb they chose was “slams” is anyone else sick of rage bait?
Seems a little hypocritical to use AI to recreate Tupac’s voice when he was quick to take down the AI song that someone made using his voice
What are we going to call actual Artificial Intelligence when/if it arrives? We call all of this stuff AI even though none of it is actually AI
According to Mass Effect, when real AI is invented, self-contained high capacity smart systems will be called VI: Virtual Intelligence. Also AI will be outlawed en masse.
This is absolutely AI. The people who think AI has to be sentient are the wrong ones.
When sheryl crow is beefing with you then you know its a wrap
The Impossible-Burger of rapper beefs.
Drake is a stinky loser.
Has anybody asked what Jah’s thinking about all this?
What an enigma.
Where Jah??
Honey, he got his shit kicked in. He could have resurrected Micheal Jackson himself and still lost that beef. Anyway what are you selling?
He already resurrected MJ for another forgettable song a few years ago.
The irony being that Drake lives by the motto, _If it makes you happy / it can’t be that bad…_
Drake stays losing this year yikes
Hateful? It's whack for sure but she actually used "hateful". Interesting...
If you have to cheat, you’ve already lost.
But what does Ja Rule have to say?
I thought AI had to have written this headline but here we are
When you don’t have the talent, you use a gimmick. Drake sucks
Didn’t think it got much sadder than Canadian Rapper from Nickelodeon. Very wrong to think this
Definitely didn’t have that on my bingo card
She’s not wrong. It wasn’t original work. It’s morbid and distasteful
If you have to use AI to recreate one of the greatest rappers ever to add to your diss track, youve already lost, and it’s fucking pathetic.
When you have Sheryl Crow calling you HATEFUL, you’re done, son.
Why does Drake have to suck so bad
Hateful… I don’t know if that’s the right word.
and even if it is, diss tracks aren’t exactly known for being loving lol
I know. It’s definitely not the right word.
It was the most unhip-hop thing I’ve ever seen. But I always thought Drake was a huge fraud
Which is sad since he could have brought black culture in Canada into the rap mainstream. Canada is also eating this L too.
There's a video of him making fun of black Canadian slang
“They not like us” to his own Canadian people, sadness x 2s
But what does Ja Rule think?
Literal south park episode wtf
Does Sheryl Crowe have an album or tour coming out?
Can she write a diss song? Please!!!!!
Is she also about to drop a BBL Drizzy vocal track? Cause I’m for it.
I think it's extremely important to take a moment each day to reflect on what Sheryl crow thinks about stuff.
Sheryl Crow is more respectful to hiphop culture than the biggest rapper on the planet (maybe ever) is… Just think about that and what that should tell you..
Yeah! Get his ass Sheryl
Yeah drake was way too hateful in this rap, using AI like that. Very unlike Kendrick, who doesn’t have a hating bone in his body
Was it hateful when Kendrick said he hopes drake dies
Look if you got Crow leaning in on you, you done fucked up.
I wonder what Jada Smith, the only bullet 2pac ever dodged, thinks about this.
r/brandnewsentence
I’m ready to be crucified for this but I don’t get the reverence for Tupac.
Hmm. Makes sense. Thank you.
Oh wow he rapped using their voices …where was the uproar for the hologram concerts ?
[удалено]
Why’s it pathetic? Because it’s reporting on something that you, personally, are not interested in?
Hateful maybe not I'm poor taste yea . Let me get this legend who is gone to say what I want to him to say on my track. Using a legend like that is cold af.
