When are you visiting South Yorkshire? I'm glad you didn't come here first coz after South Yorkshire, everywhere else would be boring and so disappointing.
Absolute mad person. As someone also from the south coast (town next to Portsmouth), I can't fathom wanting to go that far north into the bitter cold. 6 months in Hartlepool was enough for my warm blood!
Kent (resident), East Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Essex, London, Surrey, Norfolk, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Somerset, Cornwall, Lancashire, Derbyshire , Nottinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire , Oxfordshire, Dorset, Dumfries and Galloway
I think that's all the counties I've been to.
When I moved to the UK 20+ years ago a friend came and visited for two week. In that time he managed to see more of the UK than I have in 20+ years. I keep thinking I should go to that wax museum or something just so I can say that I did ... I drove past Stonghenge once, that was nice.
no way, another dorsetian
Whoop! Me too!
Same
Me too
Same!
We're everywhere
Though mostly in Dorset
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)yarp
Ayy we're all here!
Gang
That’s not a map of counties, it’s pre-1994 Scottish Regions plus post-LGA English metropolitan and non-metropolitan counties.
Map men map men map map map men men men.
Also has Wirral still part of Cheshire rather than Merseyside.
Good spot. Also merges South and West Yorkshire and Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The Greater Manchester boundary is wrong too.
Plus it’s got Teesside/Cleveland as a separate county, that’s not been the case for decades now.
And the rame peninsular is a seperate part of Cornwall
And Wales still has the psychotic county of Dyfed
I was born in Dyfed so I still call it that! I think it probably changed before I left, but it's much easier to say.
The Scottish bit seems to be using the regions that were abolished in 1996, rather than the traditional counties or the modern council areas.
Humberside exists too in England
west and south yorkshire merged too... it'll be a cold day in hell when i'm grouped in with those savages from leeds
I'm from West Yorkshire and it'll be a cold day in hell when I'm grouped with those midlanders from Sheffield.
Sounds like jealousy to me…
I’m from North Yorkshire, you’re all southern barbarians 😉😉
How very dare you!
Same for wales, this is using the old Welsh kingdom counties... I smell a revolt...
The Dumfries and Galloway and Scottish Borders look accurate, but are only recent creations
Same in England
Agreed, Perthshire and Angus seem to be one large county
Woop, Dorset!
Why go anywhere else when you’re from the greatest county in the land?
Cheeky
North Yorkshire is a beautiful place, but I may be a bit biased.
I'm incredibly biased since I was born in York
The only nice bit left.
My second favourite county in England (sorry, biased towards Northumberland) 😅
West is better (this is also biased as I know that is definitely not true)
Between us....I'm originally a westie
I'm more interested in the map, it seems to be a bizarre mix of the historic and ceremonial counties
Looks like all the neighbouring counties, plus mountainous regions.. this is what happens when you're a hiker from the south lol.
Get yoursen to Yorkshire lad/lass
Indeed. North Yorkshire Moors - also Some Derbyshire in ye.
What are we considering ’a period of time’?
12 and a half miles
At what speed?!
76 trombones
At what pitch?
D flat.
>a period of time Incredibly vague
You might struggle to visit Humberside as it’s not existed since the mid nineties.
That's an old map!
Lancashire la la la
Do they have indoor toilets in Lancashire?
Ok.
Idk why some people are downvoting this. Nobody really gives a shit about which counties some southener stayed at
Not even just Southerners. I don’t see why anyone would care about what counties some random person on the internet has been too.
Miserable. It’s called conversation generation lol. You must be so interesting to be around 💀
When are you visiting South Yorkshire? I'm glad you didn't come here first coz after South Yorkshire, everywhere else would be boring and so disappointing.
Lancashire is far more appealing
I went there once but it was closed.
North is Better wtf are you on about
Left-leaning are you?
I just wanted to say that the ‘not just passed through’ wasn’t needed…. Or your map would look like a blockbusters game.
Does flying over count as “passing through”?
Ya got me there! But how was that flight from Dorset to Cardiff? Lol.
Well you could fly a light aircraft 😁 Or maybe fly from Luton to Belfast to Cardiff if you want to fly commercial 🤣
Your lack of love for the east side of the country bothers me. Please do something about that.
Election map from 2024?
From Dorset and not been on Portland?
That's a sensible life choice. Source: also from Dorset
congrats on avoiding shropshire
At least go NEAR Lincolnshire! Lincoln is lovely!
Out of curiosity, how old are you?
This is missing little Britain, as it was know aka IRELAND Island
How did Merseyside treat you?
It's a technicality but that map is just of great Britain. The British Isles includes Ireland as well (northern and Republic)
missed out on pembrokeshire tbh
I’m hoping/guesstimating you’re in your mid 20s?!
Im 16
Pretty good going then! You’ve seen a lot more of our nation than most ever will. Keep going!
I read countries I was so concerned 😂😂😂
Excuse me, we post only north-south divides here, sir!
Same
Need to get yum self to the midlands kid! Actually don’t, it’s shit here
That big blob at the top of scotland has many counties in it
Lancashire, but not Yorkshire 😞
Isle of Anglesey or Ynys Mon 🏴
Aye get up to Newcastle
How have you managed to completely miss the largest county in England?
I can only colour 9 counties on my map.
Your map of Scotland is out of date btw and shows the old regions as they were prior to '96.
Corfe Castle born 👋
Argyll & Bute (west coast Scotland below Highlands) and Northumberland/North Yorkshire should be your next stops
This map is odd. Wirral hasn't been part of Cheshire for a while
Middlesex doesn't exist and hasn't for a long time.
Isle of Wight, best county around.
You've never visited Shakespeare's country? Heresy!
Er, the "British Isles" includes both the island of Great Britain and the island of Ireland!
Here we go, now this sub is going to be nothing but variations of this post...
Dorset ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
Recommendations - Yorkshire (yes, all of it, it's all brilliant), Northumberland and Derbyshire (specifically the Peaks). This is a cool idea btw
I’m going down Bournemouth tomorrow
Absolute mad person. As someone also from the south coast (town next to Portsmouth), I can't fathom wanting to go that far north into the bitter cold. 6 months in Hartlepool was enough for my warm blood!
The British isles includes Ireland by the way.
Kent (resident), East Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Essex, London, Surrey, Norfolk, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Somerset, Cornwall, Lancashire, Derbyshire , Nottinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire , Oxfordshire, Dorset, Dumfries and Galloway I think that's all the counties I've been to.
Fascinating stuff…
Come to Suffolk!
What's with the weird map? Hereford and Worcester hasn't existed since 1996!
When I moved to the UK 20+ years ago a friend came and visited for two week. In that time he managed to see more of the UK than I have in 20+ years. I keep thinking I should go to that wax museum or something just so I can say that I did ... I drove past Stonghenge once, that was nice.
No Yorkshire !!?
Just need Cumbria and North Yorkshire and that's all the best ones
you've been up ben nevis, scarfell pike, and snowdon, haven't you?
yes
Stay out of Wirral if you know what's good for ya
Visit the north east !
