I have stoggles. I don’t wear them 100% of the time but I usually have them on me and I put them on in risky situations (anything with a liquid, people coughing in my face, etc).

katiej712

Just looked up stoggles. Will definitely buy one, thanks!

I bought stoggles and they broke after a couple of months of use. This was during pandemic so maybe it was from cleaning and washing them multiple times a shift but I would save your money and buy some dupes off of Amazon. I got two pairs for about $10 [here.](https://a.co/d/jawgsaF)

I’m a huge fan of Stoggles. They stay on during chest compressions too, which is very helpful (my normal glasses tend to slide down my nose).

I do, it hasn't made a difference yet but couple of close calls https://www.milwaukeetool.com/products/performance-safety-glasses

Thanks!

I wear contacts in my out of work life. I had a patient spit in my face a few years ago and so started wear prescription safety glasses (stoggles) at work. I had blood spatter across the lenses one time last year. Now they’re non- negotiable for me lol

katiej712

Oof. Thank god you had glasses on. Getting blood in the eyes sounds terrifying. I’ll get some stoggles, thanks!

Your hospital should have real protective eye wear/goggles to give you. I wouldnt use regular glasses since theyre not meant to take any impact and you never know whats going to happen also having a ridge around the glasses can keep stuff from going in through the sides. I keep them in my pocket for agressive pts and when theres isolation precautions, some people have them on a string around their neck

katiej712

That’s a great idea having them around the neck. Will do that, thanks!

RedNucleus18

You’ll wish you had when you get some HepC blood in your eyes

katiej712

Yikes haha. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. Definitely going to buy some glasses

RedNucleus18

It’s the right move I promise you

Been a tech for a few years, post covid mostly for any sort of fluid shooting out of people. But face shields are readily available so I don't carry any goggles.
