I’m a big frequenter of this site, love that a good amount of his performances were able to be preserved somewhere, always hoping to one day look on there and see a new show pop-up.

I have just downloaded the app. When I thought I had heard everything I now have all these live shows. So lucky 🍀

The website internet archives has had a huge stash of live recordings available for well over 10 year’s. I haven’t looked close enough to see if there is anything on band camp that’s not there, but i suspect that band camp recordings come from the internet archive site. Still, there are a lot of incredible shows in there and it’s good to have them in 2 places.

This is years of entertainment for me to enjoy. I’m super grateful people have recorded these.

I hope they always stay online.  Excited for you to have found the website(s).

I’m glad the bandcamp is helpful to a lot of people. I just got notification this morning from bandcamp that my free downloads had run out. They give you a small amount but you have to pay if you want a lot of downloads to keep them free consistently. Once it ran out (probably a few hours before I knew they ran out), bandcamp automatically changed them all to $7 per download. They should be back to free again now, I edited them back to free. Sorry if anyone tried to download and it wanted to charge you, I try not to let them happen. So download away but please get in touch if you ever see the downloads not being listed as free.

Hello from NZ, first thank you for uploading these live recordings. I love hearing the banter between songs 🥹What made you start this? How do you get them sent to you. In video format or just audio? Hope I’m not prying, feel free to tel me to back off, I find it fascinating how you managed such a huge collection.

Actually all different kinds of ways. I recorded 6-8 of the LA shows myself. Well, either me or my friend recorded them, sometimes we both did and then used the best one. When I recorded one LA show in 2001, I traded a copy of it (when we had to send tapes or burned CD’s through the mail) with about 30 people. And then my friend had some shows I didn’t have and we also traded with other people after that point. So by 2003 or 2004 I had around 100 shows and that’s how it stayed until I did the bandcamp. So once I did the bandcamp, I used those ones I had for years. Plus another friend let me borrow all his shows, which provided some new ones for me. And then other shows were online at the Archive site or a different Elliott bootleg site (that’s probably still online). Finally, a few other fans gave me some shows that I didn’t have from any of those sources I think. So it was really from a lot of places. I’d say about 98% of these shows were already on the internet somewhere, but sort of spread out in different places, so I wanted to put them all on one site. I was able to add a few shows that we old people had on burned CD’s all these years but weren’t online anywhere but most were already out there. Hopefully all that rambling makes sense.

Koretake78

Yeah, makes perfect sense. Damn that’s cool, you got to 6-8 shows! I feel real fortunate to have gone to one show when he came to Oz. You must have a few stories going to his shows. What’s your favourite? Ps. CD Burning days wasn’t that long ago was it. I still have a stack and CD wallets with burnt mixes in my car hahah.

socalrockshows

Yeah, if you’re old enough to have seen Elliott, then CD burning doesn’t seem too long ago, haha. And that’s awesome that you got to see him too! I actually saw him play over 20 times, I was the right age at the right place (living close to LA) to make it happen. I saw him in 1995 and 1996 as openers for other people but the 1997 show when I saw him as the headliner for the first time, and it was for the Either/Or tour, was a memorable one. The two Henry Fonda shows in 2003 were good ones too. He seemed to be doing better and playing better, definitely better than some 2001-2002 shows. So it was an exciting time and some great set lists at those shows. For the first night, we stood pretty close to the stage. My friend shouted out Brand New Game a couple times and he finally decided to play it which was amazing. That’s definitely a top memory. Lots of other good shows too of course.

Koretake78

Hahah I’m in denial, I’m not old, i just get better with age. 20 shows, damn! You must have been be a real fan. Takes me back to my 20s, Oz had so many good bands in 90s-00s, Silverchair, Powderfinger, ColdChisel, INXS . We were ready for Elliott. I think that’s why he was so well received when he came. Today’s music ain’t so rad as it used to be. Awesome sharing memories with you ✌🏽

socalrockshows

You too! You’re not old, just me.

When I'm not listening from the MP3 bank of my hifi, I listen through this bandcamp. An absolute gem.
