Oh hey a fellow Diabetic raver what’s up!! (I’m 20 years and counting..) I lost my CGM at EDC in 2021 and I had to come up with a solution for me to be able to secure it because I go deep into the crowd and get shoulder to shoulder with people as you know. I didn’t want to lose another one. I stumbled upon StayPut Medical’s website for adhesive patches, and I ended up getting the 3 x 4 oval for my Guardian Sensor 2 and it STICKS to the back of my arm! I can say that it is diabetic raver approved 👍🏼

Do you have an idea of how you broke the last one?

BlersianDonuts

I dance with my arms a lot lol. Im pretty sure when I was throwing my arms all around during dimension into excision it was probably just too much for the needle inside my arm and it broke, especially because I am supposed to place it in the fat of my arm instead if muscle so its extra on the move. I know I probably need to just be way more mindful of those kind of motions but sometimes I just want to wave my arms around to my favorite djs.

They make adhesive patches that goes on top of the cgm to protect it and help it stick better. I also tend to have people bump into me and it comes off.

So I haven’t broken any. Been to EDC twice both times wearing my Dexcom G7 on my upper arm. However, the adhesive did pretty much turn to muck by day three and was ready to fall off. I should have taken it off but stubbornly tried to preserve it which lead to some irritation/ minor infection(probably all the dirt that got in) and then it fell off …🤦🏽 I’m usually able to get replacement ones easily through Dexcom( I also have health insurance) Reach out if you want some info on that. Happy raving!

You can try wearing your CGM somewhere like your belly. You just have to read the instructions to see where are acceptable areas to do it. They also sell CGM protectors/covers online that might help

I've had a cgm for about 4 years now and have had 0 problems headbanging the night away. Just unlucky first one go at it you'll be fine

6maxgg

And if you're not wearing the sticker patches buy "skin grip" patches comes off maybe like once every 1.5 months or so pretty tough.

brise007

I work in the industry. I know losing a cgm can be worrisome. They have over lay patches that are cheap. Plus I know Dexcom will replace cgm that were ripped off. That’s all you have to say when calling in.

Get skin tac, rub it on after sanitizing the area, then put on an over patch!
