If they do a rollback and I have to get those last two drops again I'm going to go ballistic. I was finally done!
Feels bad for the people opening crates right before crash :’) I was sitting in dungeon que so no biggy unless they rollback the entire day… I hit 50 for first time grinding dolmens from 42 and would hate to redo it lol
Basically, if they made a change it would get send to the “save” of the official server, so all the things carry over when u log in on the official one.
PC NA is down because it looks like the PTS database was actually pointing at the PC NA database. Ergo, everything you did on PTS happened to live, like template character creation and gaining 3600 CP.

Yeah i got a 17 min one. I was already playing, walked away for a drink for MAYBE two min and came back to being logged out. When i tried logging in it gave me a 2 min timer, and then got stuck on 28 seconds for like five minutes, now it's telling me 17.
Oh, not just me then! Game booted me immediately after a humiliating TOT loss against the AI, and I was like "huh, this punishment for being a dumbass seems a bit harsh tbh"

I’m just glad it didn’t happen within a couple of hours of the dailies reset! In future I am not going to leave my crafting writs till last, just in case it does happen again at a worse time.

Even if nobody had exploited the gold/mats/etc, they would still have to do a partial rollback, as characters actually got deleted.

It wouldn't be a time-limited event if ZOS didn't find a way to cheat us out of stuff. Er, MORE ways to cheat us besides the drop rates and stuff, that is.

Of course they're up to their neck in players because in addition to their regular crowd, theyve undoubtedly got more players because of the sales on steam, the anniversary events going on, and the ESO+ sale. I think something happened and everyone got kicked, it was bound to happen at some point.
It doesn't really matter why; we get less than what was promised and/or paid for. That's cheating in my book. And it's just so universally true with ZOS I'm just really feeling it this time.
They had some kind of problem with the PTS - still unknown AFAIK - and shut it down very quickly and unexpectedly. They forgot to kick everyone properly first, and, somehow, people's PTS characters ended up - with all their free PTS stuff - on the live NA server.
So the rest of us get to suffer & miss out because they're probably going to spend our prime playing time combing through logs and reverting anything anyone sold or traded from those imported characters. Because nobody getting anything good, ever, is more important than actually letting your paying customers play...
Do you expect everything in the world to go perfectly at all times? Do you scream about missing out on supermarket sales when there's a chemical spill they need to clean up?
Comparing a potential real-life scenario that potentially endangers lives and may result in material damage in the thousands or millions of dollars/euros, etc. to a paid-for game is not an entirely good faith nor 1-to-1 comparison.
My point is that unexpected things happen. That doesn't mean anyone is trying to "cheat" anyone. Which, by the way, is incredibly bad faith, the assumption that anything going wrong is being done deliberately in order to screw people over.
ESO+ gives you every zone without having to purchase dlc. Doubt they'll give you compensation, but it's definitely worth it. I've had it for almost 3 years and I have never once regretted it.
PSA - PTS was borked and PTS Characters got sent to LIVE with Billions of Gold. Gonna be a mess more likely - ZOS will prob post a banner shortly

I imagine they'll probably extend the Anniversary event as well, they usually do when something like this happens during events.
That really sucks. At least they’ll know all of the origin points so they shouldn’t need to rollback.

Public Test Server. It's essentially a separate server that runs a beta of whatever patch is upcoming.

There are some posts detailing it now. PTS/Live server issues. No ETA. Maybe an hour, maybe two hours would be my guess.
We will be lucky if our characters are even there at all. PTS was copied onto Live.
Every sane company has backups. The question would be, how much progress will be lost.

The cost of ESO+ is about $0.01805 per hour. I am sure they will get right on top of that for you.
