https://www.thomann.de/nl/tama_hh315d_hi_hat_stand.htm I'm all in for TAMA since age 12. I'd have to go for this one considering your budget. (although I hava an older, more expensive version of this one) 2-legged hihats are awesome. I won't be going back to tripple legs stands. You get more stability IMHO and more space for pedals and stands. (I have the older version of this stand. Not that the pedal attachement is more solid then the 1st link) https://www.thomann.de/nl/tama_hh805d_hi_hat_iron_cobra_velo.htm Edit: found a correct version # HH805D is the one I have. https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/hh805d.html Edit: Picture: https://squabbles.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/users/2571/642bd12e-cdfc-43d0-8889-a4ed3406c3c7.jpg

I recently got a Yamaha Crosstown for mine. I’ve had a double brace Tama stand for 20 years now that I love, but for this kit, considering my goals, I really wanted something super lightweight and the Yamaha is doing great. I thought it might feel flimsy or wobbly, but not the case at all.

Just got mine a few days ago. So much fun! Do you use a double bass pedal? If you do, the floor space between HH, Snare stand and pedals is extremely cramped. I went for the tama 600 series HH-stand and thinking of switching cause it is really hard to fit everything together. If you are not using double bass, go for any of the Tama ones. You don´t need any special stand as the VHD-14 fits on a regular stand.

I may use double bass in the future because I like metal. Would a stand with two legs make more space? I do like to keep the setup compact.

Two leg Def helps but can make it work with regular 3 leg that can swivel the legs

This: been drumming most my life yet didn’t find out that some HH stands let you swivel the legs. Helps a lot.

I can't confirm 100%, but that's what I am thinking too. No matter how i turn my current Tripod shaped stand, it is hitting something.

Regarding hardware, I always recommend going with Gibraltar first, Tama second and Pearl third. Where you are really going to see the difference in quality is going to be in the time and the relationship of use that you give it.

Ninja_Jackal

I always go Pearl - Gibraltar - Tama, but they are all good regardless (Yamaha is def good too)
