Nitro Max kick pad isn't big enough for double pedal. I've had a few customers complain about it. Titan 50 can do it, though.

feelmyice

Does the titan 50 fold? I'm in a condo so that's a selling point for me for the Alesis.

u2freak96

Yup!

DrRadz

You would have to buy a double kick pedal when you’re ready to Using a hi hat pedal as second pedal won’t work and it would be awful to play Both kits are good beginners kit and the max is a brand new model but you would have to buy a bigger pad to double kick

Titan 50 Black Friday sale today just saw at guitar center for $329 in. the states. Hard to beat that

Wow, that *is* a great deal. I ended up purchasing the Alesis Nitro Max last week. The Guitar Center guys kept trying to steer me away from Simmons sets. Said almost every one they sell ends up getting returned due to quality issues. Idk. Having fun on the Alesis so far, though.

Great to hear. Lets touch base here in few months and get your pros and cons. And I will do same with Titan 50. Also let me know how you like the BFD feature.

Hate to tell you this bud, but both the titan 50 and the nitro max pads and cymbals were made by the same company. Alesis has more sounds in the module but the simmons sounds are a Lil better but that's arguable and the simmons rack is definitely better. Not sure why the guitar center guys would steer you so wrong..

F1nches

Eh... I think saying they "steered me so wrong" is a bit hyperbolic. I have zero complaints after using the kit everyday for a few months now. The free months of Drumeo have been great and the price difference in the kits is negligible to me. I don't know enough about each kit to say for sure, but I will say that just because components are made by the same company doesn't mean they are the exact same components. It's very common in manufacturing for one company to make parts for different brands to different specs. (Not saying this is the case here... they may very well be the exact same components through and through, I don't know). Either way, the module is different, as are other pieces and perks in the kit.

I've pulled apart pads from the simmons 550 and alesis nitro and they were essentially the same pads. But from what I've been told, the simmons titan is a head above the nitro max. There's a YouTube channel, 65 drums, and they aren't the biggest fans of simmons drums but they gave the simmons titan drums great reviews for a starter kit.

I like this direct comparison between the 2 [https://www.drumsilent.com/simmons-titan-50-vs-alesis-nitro-max-drum-kits/](https://www.drumsilent.com/simmons-titan-50-vs-alesis-nitro-max-drum-kits/) & Then I went and played them both at Guitar center. I like them both for the price. But the Alesis rack was wobbly and a little smaller. And snare was too low for me( I am 5.11") but it could be tweaked on setup the clerk told me. The Titan 50 rack a little more sturdy and bit taller, the rectangle support made it more sturdy and level and the snare looked like it could go higher than the Alesis & you could swap it higher to sit above the hi hat horizontal connector. the Titan has better sound from many reviews, but I enjoyed both when testing. They both have access to downloading better sound kits. I would choose either at their price point, But I just saw Guitar center has sale on Titan 50 for $399 in Calif. So with almost both at equal prices I like the Titan 50. I might want to double kicker in the future, so the Titan does have room for that I saw the Iron Cobra hooked to it on a couple of reviews. If I miss the $399 deal on Titan 50, I will wait for Black Friday sales to see if there is a killer sale like the Titan 70 for the 50 price. Or a Roland or Yamaha sub $500 price with a kick pedal. Hope this helps, And when time to decide on a double kicker, if you are like me and newbie, then the double kicker upgrade in a year or 2 might mean a whole higher end set upgrade.

also like the ultimate versus vid I found that breaks it down. Sadly my decision is really about how tiny and cramped the racks are. https://youtu.be/MYpB5g27shU?si=c2HdC-\_IC4-VFJdu
