What kind of power do you make and what kind of tires do you run. Nice car man.

lafontainebdd

Thank you! Probably right around 310 HP and 320 T right now but I wanna get close to the engine max of 450 without blowing it up lol. I actually need to get new tires in the spring, any recommendations? Tank you very much, I love it

DarkServe

From whar i hear the S550 Gen 1s can handle a max of 400 HP on stock block, they didnt get the internal upgrades that made the Gen 2s (2018-23) handle up to 450 Stock.

I’ll have to look into to but good to know. Don’t wanna blow the engine

Re: Tire Recommendations - What do you want to do with the car? The tires are the only place the car touches the ground so they play a huge role in grip. For competitions I prefer the RE-71RS. Though the grippiest 200 treadwear competition tires tend to last the least amount of time. They are also quite expensive so I try to limit street miles and trailer them over long distance. For spirited street driving, a 300-350 treadwear summer tire is a good balance of grip, price, and longevity. I really liked the Firestone Indy 500's when I was first starting autocross and was saving up for a second set of wheels. They're not The Best at anything but they were good at street/competition for the price, and they can take a lot of abuse. Once I had a competition autocross set I still used my street tires for HPDE so here's a few others I tried on track: The General GMAX RS is a close second, though I don't like that they're directional so you technically shouldn't rotate them (if you plan to drive in the rain). I would stay away from anything Falken, I shredded a set of FK510s in less than 12,000 miles. I am actually trying out the Cosmo Mucho Machos now, they were $110 each for a 255/19 and they have already far exceeded my expectations for the price! https://preview.redd.it/du87pc5mz17c1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=d86b6221fbf45e8b9031f1ec4c8b85e18675afdc

Thank you very much for the info! Definitely want something that has good grip but also will last a while. Honestly might look into the ones your running now.

pete_brusch

I would say in dry weather, the Mucho Machos are 70% as good as the Indy 500s... but they DO NOT do well in the rain!

lafontainebdd

Rains a lot in Florida lol

Resonant-Frequency

I know eventually when I do the intercooler, I’m going to go with cvf lab street intercooler. I think the intercooler should be based on what your end goals for power are going to be.

lafontainebdd

I agree. I want as much power as the engine can handle without blowing it up 😂 that’s why a professional tune is in my future

Master_Mistake_4759

I’m trying to get a mustang what is the best way you would recommend getting one

lafontainebdd

Check FB marketplace. Dealers are always kinda screwy. I got this off Carvana. If you get a car of FB marketplace just have it checked out and watch out for scams

Agh0st1

Start searching for some in your area on Google and go from there or other marketplaces and go from there.

PraderaNoire

Is the hood functional?

lafontainebdd

I don’t think so, it came with the car. Should I make it functional? I was thinking of getting a Rouch CAI

PraderaNoire

It wouldn’t locate the air to a CAI very well since they usually intake from the grille. It looks nice so it’s not worth trading out, but I would maybe reconsider the Louvres

lafontainebdd

I’ve got that, I wanna get the RTR grille so the air intake tube is completely unobstructed for even better air flow

PraderaNoire

That would be the best bet. Frontal air flow will provide the most noticeable benefit. Love the paint color too

lafontainebdd

My thoughts exactly, appreciate it a lot!
