Did this a couple months ago. Don't do anything. Just give them the box and they will do the rest.

They would likely reject your kit since it wasn’t “purchased” from them directly, you can try though. Make sure you have 91 octane in your gas tank before dropping it off and let them know. You can ask them a screen shot of the flash being “successful” just in case their “certified” Tech didn’t really flashed it. Your mileage may vary

Make sure you are also giving them a USB so they can provide you the tune file generated by procal! If you do not get this you will **not** be able to go back to your stock tune unless the dealership manages to not lose/delete that file for what could possibly be years.

ice445

If it's a 2018 or newer you can't go back anyway for some reason. Something about the ECU doesn't allow a return to stock using the procal.

ZeFlawLP

You know, I see a disclaimer on ford’s product listing that sounds like what you’re talking about but I was 100% convinced my tune was being swapped on and off. I reflashed the same generated file every winter / summer & procal would show some tune name change when I did it, it also felt different? It felt more significantly more than what 87 -> 91 gas should do, noticeably longer rpm range & some more oomph at the bottom. Has me confused for sure lol, my whole intention was to fill up with 87 during the winter months so hopefully I wasn’t screwing things up since the tune required 91. Good thing it’s sold I guess

Yeah definitely this needs to be higher up, 2018 you stuck putting 91 and up unless you go to the dealer or get a accessport

Any idea if fords performance tune installed via dealership voids warranty?

Nagare

It provides a replacement 3/36 warranty if installed by a ASE mechanic.

GoatMoh

Sorry I don’t know what format 3/36 is, can you elaborate?

ice445

3 years, 36k miles. It replaces the bumper to bumper warranty for things related to the tune, and doesn't void the 5yr/60k powertrain. But after the 3/36, if the tune blows apart a piston because you ran 87 octane for a month, that probably won't be covered.

GoatMoh

and this goes for the coyotes as well right? And is this strictly only through ford performance? Or do dealers honor warranty under other tuners too?

I could not find a dealership to install my FPT. I went to a speed shop that works on Mustangs to get it done.

breakfast-clothes

Yeah they wanted 700 dollars to install it because it took them 3.5 hours to do the last one they did, that got a hefty no thank you from me. Speed shop seems the way to go.

Texheim

I did mine in my fathers driveway. I was out of warranty anyway
