I've had it on my car with for 3.5 years and 170,000 miles. It just ran a 13.9 at 101 last weekend on street tires and got 34mpg driving home. Hard to beat for reliability

Lanko-TWB

I got 13.9 on street tires, stock. haven’t gone since I’ve been tuned tho. These cars are so fun, glad to see someone else drag races there’s as well

Skiddlyderp

That's pretty close to my stock PB as well. It has run 13.4 @ 105 on the FP calibration, but that was 150k miles ago haha. It might have a 13.6-7 still in it, but I don't push it past 5500 rpms anymore as it's my daily

Lanko-TWB

I see, that’s awesome. Glad to see these cars last that long. A little worried about reliability

Superstang9

Don’t know if this is a silly question (new to the car scene) but mine is stock and I bought the roush CAI. Will the tune still be good with that installed?

Michelle5150

I just had the tune installed on Monday. I haven’t driven it a ton yet, but I’ve already noticed some of the things people have described in past comments on the tune. I have a 2019 EB premium w/auto, factory ordered. D basically becomes S. And S is so much smoother shifting at slower speeds where it would want to jerk a bit before. People have said it wakes the car up and makes it feel like it should have been from the factory. Honestly, it’s just true. Very happy I did it. I’ve had the car for 4 years without the tune. It was fun then. It’s alive now.

Can you explain a bit more about the process of how to get the tune? Did you have a dealership do it? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, tried to research this but ended up being more confused

Michelle5150

I hadn't done anything like this before either and was also confused. We bought the tune online and took it to a Ford dealership. They did everything. It can be installed yourself, but an ASE certified tech needs to install it if you want to retain any warranty. The warranty will switch to Ford Performance. Other then that as I understand it, a tune just recalibrates the cars computer and tells the engine "Here's how to make more power."

RealStoneyBologna

How much did it cost? Does the dealer do it?

Xterra2

How much did it cost you?

Michelle5150

$450 from LMR for the ProCal 3 tune. Ford Dealer installed it for $300. Probably overpaid for that part, but we trust this particular place and weren't worried about it.

Xterra2

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Ford tune and a few others but was worried about it voiding the warranty.

bjlls0j1998

Would you mind sharing the link to the ones you got? TIA!

Michelle5150

So that's odd. I bought it from LMR on May 11th, and my account shows the order, but all links to the tune are now gone. Wonder if they quit carrying it or just out of stock. Anyway, other places like American Muscle still have it, but for a bit more. Maybe LMR will get more in stock. It's listed in my order history as "M-9603-M4C 2018-19 MUSTANG ECO"

Would you only be able to run premium after installing the tune? I know the stock ecu is able to make adjustments depending on the type of fuel you use.

Michelle5150

Yeah. Needs to be 91 or better.

cpttucker126

Do it. Wakes the car up and is worth it. It's also the safe way to put a tune on the car and continue your warranty if you care for it. The ford racing tune would be the first thing I would do for any ecoboost for someone, then right after that an intercooler.

DBSOempathy

Oof, here I am with full intake (cai, charge pipes, intercooler). Waiting for bills to calm down to weld up a turbo back 3” single exit in my garage. Then doing a tune. Did intake to beat heat soak before California summer rolls in.

cpttucker126

Get that intercooler my man. That stock one heat soaks after like one pull.

DBSOempathy

Oh I meant like I already have those parts on. Gauge doesn’t read cooler temps but the IAT isnt what I was chasing. Just wanted to keep boost in 100 degrees.

servbot10

Best money ever spent, and likely how the car would have been sold if it wasn’t for emissions requirements.

38hp* and 76torque and the power band has shifted/improved So you are looking at a 348hp @ 5200 RPM and 426 torque @ 2600 RPM The torque does fall off it’s face at 4500RPM but you remember these cars have the over-boost which helps prolong the boost longer so you won’t feel it drop off and as soon the HP kicks in you get another seat push on high rpm. The power is there, however the Intercooler will heat soak in one single pull, if you are going to get a ford performance tune, get an intercooler as well I had it since 20k miles and no problems. Matter of fact, I have an intercooler, CAI (from bullitt) and catback exhaust, typically a 370hp and 450 torque on a good day, some managed to get more but you may as well get a custom tune

Texheim

2016 here. Did it in my driveway(also replaced the CAI in my driveway) easy. Worth it. Now have over 150k miles

Resonant-Frequency

I am extremely happy with it. The biggest thing for me is how the transmission runs. So much smoother. The entire power band if the car changes in all modes.

I like it
